    One thing I’d recommend is putting the nut back on the ball joint threads, but don’t tighten the nut. When you’re splitting the ball joint, you won’t have the risk of the ball joint hitting you. I did it on my is300 and it worked. Great video however!

    You are awesome, thank you so much. I worked on my SC 300 and did i everything correctly. I don't know a thing about the mechanical parts of a automobile. I didn't even know what my SC was, it fell into my lap and the price was right. It is a one owner 1997 bought in Beverly hills. I now know what I have and I love it! When I saw you do Method 1 on removing the rear shocks, I was screaming about Method 2 which is a lot easier. Thank goodness you showed it in the end. Fyi, you don't need to compress the springs in Method 2. The shocks just pop out. Great production quality, now Subscribed.

  • @syzeification
    @syzeification Před 3 lety +1

    Pretty good video, you're progressing good! I don't know if anyone has said this but torque suspension components when there's load on them, otherwise you can get unfavourable preload on them, making them wear faster. When I installed poly bushes and new ball joints I even drove it a bit after impacting them on so everything settles, then I torqued everything to spec while the car is on the ground.

    • @shizukesajdm
      @shizukesajdm  Před 3 lety

      I’ve actually heard this from someone at work too. However, I’m not sure how I’m going to be able to torque everything on the ground when it’s this low? I suppose I need to get some ramps or something? Thanks for watching and thanks for the advice :)

    • @syzeification
      @syzeification Před 3 lety

      @@shizukesajdm yeah ramps or a garage with a tunnel work okay. My situation was the latter. It is still very awkward though :) with a tunnel you can also rock the car back and forth to see if there's any strain on anything, knocking, etc

    Really great video mate, if all of them are like this going forward it’ll be a great resource for the IS300 community! What impact wrench are you using as well, it seemed to deal with all the suspension components with ease!

      Thanks for the kind words. I can assure you that every video will be very detailed. I’ll put maximum effort in for all videos. Regarding the impact - it’s a Milwaukee mid-torque. If you want the exact model number I can find it when I’m back home, just let me know. However, it did struggle a little with the right right lower ball joint and I had to whip out the breaker bar and a scaffold pole 😂
