    I think a big problem is that parents are so desensitized to PG movies that are essentially glorified G-rated movies that only get a PG-rating because of one or two toilet jokes essentially assuming every modern movie with a PG-rating treats it’s audiences like babies who can’t handle anything. Given the context of the word ass, Shrek was talking about Donkey since a male donkey is literally known as a jackass. When Shrek said, "I have to save my ass," in this context he was technically saying, "I have to save my donkey," even though ass is considered a curse word. Still, I think since we saw Shrek and Fiona save Donkey right after Shrek said that line, it's heavily implied that Dreamworks was letting that one slide given the context it was being used in.

    As an Australian curse/swear words never really ever get my attention but I definitely have noticed more of them popping up in movies, honestly though it does make the movie more realistic as if any of us were in these situations im sure we would be swearing a lot the only thing is for movies targeted towards children yes I understand that its not appropriate to have them in there but for any thing pg rated who cares anymore like its pg for a reason. I get that everyone has different opinions and its up to each parent/ person to decide what’s appropriate for them and/ or their child

    • @danitho
      @danitho Před 6 měsíci +1

      My only issue with it is for the parents that want to guard their children from it, there's no warning. PG used to mean there were certain boundaries that won't be crossed. It's fine to change the rules, but to do so without telling those who depend on those boundaries isn't the answer in my opinion.
      Even with the parent being around, there's almost no way for a parent to know a word will be said until it's said. It makes it hard to judge what will be appropriate for their child. If a child sees a character they love say something, it wilm be easy for them to adopt it in their own language.
      I personally wouldn't be bothered by it. But i dont have kids. I can understand how a parent wouldn't want their child exposed to certain things so for them, it would be nice if ratings were adjusted for this new trend.

    Curse Words In Animated Movies, Disney VS DreamWorks.
    All these movies are rated PG, excluding the VeggieTales one that doesn't have a rating.
    Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse: Yes, Miles said or almost said "a**" in a kids movie, a word that does not belong.
    Elemental: No, Ember didn't curse, she said "ash".
    Moana: Yes, Moana might have said the B word, "b**ch" off-screen.
    Puss In Boots 3: The Last Wish: Yes, Kitty was about to say "bulls***" guaranteed.
    Puss In Boots 3: The Last Wish (again): Yes, Perrito was saying unknown censored curse words.
    Next Gen: Yes, Momo was saying censored curse words, and that was happening often throughout the movie.
    Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem: Yes, Superfly said "What the hell", but in that movie, characters are allowed to say that because the movie is PG.
    VeggieTales: Esther: The Girl Who Became Queen: Maybe, Haman might have been referring to Hell.
    Shrek: Yes, Shrek said the word "ass", but he might have been referring to the Donkey in the movie.
