      @@EternalHarvestDecor So I am finally moving forward w this table, but had a setback. The table has a decorative deep crack going around the top. I filled it in because it’s a crumb collector. It’s also been primed with BIN shellac primer because we needed to make sure there was no bleed through. Our plan changed to solid color paint, but now that I see your video again, I wonder if it can still be done like this. 🤔 Primer is white. I planned to do the piece much brighter because the room it’s in.. everything is light and airy. Sorta has a beachy or garden feel to it, so it would work better. Do you think this look can still be achieved on something primed white? 🤣 This damn table is not going according to plan. 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️ I just really am trying to avoid it being boring. 🙃

    Hey! Thank you so much for your help! I've been wanting to make a murphy desk in a inset in one of my walls (it's weird) but I was so pissed when I started because it looked nothing like what you had done but I kept at it and streaked the darker color (I used weathered grey and ebony...because that's all I found at HD) with the light grey and wiped and it actually turned out so perfect so a big, huge thank you!
    Edit: once I finished everything and got it set up perfect I ended up streaking ever so slightly with a satin white I was using to touch up a wall, i streaked and wiped immediately in thin lines and slightly curved long lines and it made the desk pop so much more. Thanks again for the help and good luck all!

I didn't have a brown so took a forest green and added a little red, I test painted a box the same color as dresser then drug my DIY brown like she did then a little wheat color. It was so easy and mine looks just as good if not better, I'm totally doing the whole dresser now.....THANKS!

      Grysell Gutierrez thanks for watching! Great question! I only waited a few seconds between each darker color so I could blend them and then waited a few min to add the white. I usually suggest ppl do a practice run on scrap just to be sure it’s the way you like it. Good luck!

    I know this video is old but I wanted to ask if this technique can be used on plywood 🤔? Thanks for sharing this brilliant easy to follow technique 😊👌🏻

      I’d say make sure it’s a hardwood ply sometimes it can stain super splotchy. Maybe just do a test piece first! It should work I think

      @@EternalHarvestDecor good idea! I think I'll get oak ply (if that's hardwood?) since oak ply has a lot of grain cathedral looking patterns and has depth variations which should allow for nice staining with the different colors 🤞🏻
      Thank you so much. God bless and enjoy the rest of your weekend ☺️

    so what i can tell by the video, i do the grey slats(rub it in),then dark color(rub it in) and then the watered down white latex paint (do it like you showed how to do the turqouise) then the poly clear coat?

    Question. I love your technique, but what technique would you use in a situation where you have varnished dark furniture. I was planning and lightly sanding it and priming and start with a light base coat...then move to the stains. What's your opinion?

    • @EternalHarvestDecor
      @EternalHarvestDecor  Před 2 lety

      I actually have seen people us oven easy off, it takes the wood back to its natural color first and then start from there

    I really loved your video! I used the colors you used to make a sliding barn door and it turned out great but it’s a little too gray for my walls. I didn’t do the turquoise. What do you suggest I could do to warm it up a bit?

    • @EternalHarvestDecor
      @EternalHarvestDecor  Před 3 lety

      You could add a little special walnut stain to warm it up if you like.

    Would it work to do this with paint (instead of stain)? (I'm interested in trying it on a shed that is already painted, and I don't want to strip the paint.)

    • @EternalHarvestDecor
      @EternalHarvestDecor  Před 4 lety +1

      That’s a good question! I would imagine so! You would just need to play around with paint consistency. I would practice on a scrap piece to see how you want it to look. There is a lot of play in the finished product depending on how much dark/light you use etc! Good luck, I think it’s an awesome idea!

    Skip the brush and use a cloth rag to wipe on the turquoise.

    Do you think this effect would show using half the brush size for a smaller item? Thinking on a Guitar. Great Vid, Thank you

    • @EternalHarvestDecor
      @EternalHarvestDecor  Před 4 lety +1

      I think it would sure, but it would be a bit more busy with the pattern, if that makes sense? Try it out on some small scrap and see how you feel, I bet you can blend it to your liking.
