- The Walking Dead Season 11 Ending was not a true finale. In fact, it felt a lot more like a marketing campaign than anything else.

I also despise the first 8 episodes of Season 11, but not because of the Reapers or lack of building up the Commonwealth. I'm disappointed that they didn't really build up the Variant Walkers. It just felt like they came in at the worst time, and if they arrived with the Reapers or just used more of that time to show off what the Variants could do, then Season 11 would've been so much better in my eyes.

The fact that the only major character death was Rosita is just the definition of underwhelming. They really should’ve killed off some characters like Ezekiel and Princess or any other character that didn’t do much since this is the SERIES FINALE.
I completely agree there were no high stakes, which was extremely disappointing for a show that is typically known for having high stakes
@@jerrystakes I could seriously ramble about how disappointing the Finale was, the fact that this was the show that killed 2 Major Characters in the Season 7 Premiere to killing characters such as Luke and Rosita in the SERIES FINALE will always never sit right with me.
@@jerrystakes Oh and don’t get my started with the spin-offs. They announced them DURING THE FINAL SEASON and completely ruined ANY stakes since we know that all the major characters are surviving. What a shame.

Wife and I are currently on season 8 but I can tell that the quality was not the same as the first seasons. I usuals don’t like listening to spoilers before watching a show or movie, but for some reason I don’t really care in regards to this show.
On a different note, it felt weird to me that Maggie went to the hilltop for help and all of a sudden she becomes the leader and they push Gregory to the side. I know he’s not a good guy but for some reason it bothered me.
Agreed. RJ is redundant. Honestly if RJ was gone, nothing would change… literally! He’s not a character. He’s there for people yo say “awwww Rick and Michonne had a kid.” Cause outside of that tiny aspect, he adds nothing.

Yes absolutely. A full reboot with the comics being done makes so much sense for production planning and casting

Another comment. I'm not much of a romance guy, like at all. But I was upset that Daryl didn't end up with Connie. They teased their relationship so much and they were an interesting pair. She even makes Daryl chuckle. I mean, who else does that? Lol. But then they introduced Leah and ruined everything. And then she just gets killed in the end. Her death had no impact. Daryl being this silent lone wolf character is getting old. I miss season 1-4 Daryl.

Yeah I agree it didn’t feel like a finale. I remember I found out shortly after about all the spin offs and I’m thinking…well why not just make a season 12 if you are gonna have all these spin offs with the same characters?
I dont wanna see rick die … because we lost carl or at least old man rick. But definitely would love to see him lose his hand . And reunite with morgan so much twd universe can do pathetic story telling right now

Jerry, you should make a list of things that ruined TWD, I think one of the important things is its plot is always toxic, I mean where Rick's group goes there is always destruction or they are attacked, the constant revenge, many times nonsense like "the reapers arc", this is tired, I would also add that the zombies are no longer the problem

As much as I love walking dead but the later seasons they were too scared to kill off main characters so no stakes. Then the final season I was hoping it would change but nope. When I rewatch I’ll just stop after Rick leaves 🤷🏻♀️

Seasons 7, 10, and especially 11 killed the show for me. Reaper arc was unbearable and made me hate TWD. Characters such as Lance, Princess, Mercer, Magnas group were all wasted. I hope we get a comic book 1:1 adaptation in color. That’s what we need

I kind of like season 11A and B but I guess I'm in the minority who really liked Part C and how it ended. It wasn't ever going to be the "grand finale" and it never needed to be. It just needed to wrap up the main arc of THIS show, which it did and didn't do any stupid shit that completely ruined the show like Game of Thrones or Dexter. I liked the hopeful nature of the last episode even if it was a bit cheesy and I felt the last 5 or so episodes were really exciting and did their job. I felt it was more the end of one chapter, and I don't feel as if was a marketing campaign at all. It didn't even tease anything for Dead City or Daryl, just that Rick is out there and still okay. It's like Marvel or whatever, and I thought it was a good enough compromise of some ending and some stuff left open.
Let's be real, shoving the CRM arc into this show that's been about small scale problems the whole time would have made no sense, especially with where we are at right now. I get why AMC did it (and yes for money reasons too) but story wise it makes no sense at all to jam Rick or the CRM, or the characters from the other shows into this arc, just to rush out a subpar ending when they can use these spin-offs to give us more finite answers about the CRM, the virus, and end the characters' arcs in better depth. Even if they tried to jam that into 24 episodes it would have been a mess. Maybe I'm a dirty pleb for not minding the new direction with these spin-offs but I feel like it will lead to something better than if they tried to mash it all together and end it abruptly. Season was not perfect at all but I really enjoyed this season, especially much more than the previous season with the Whisperers that I thought was SO boring.
Maybe i've just stockholm syndromed myself into liking it or I'm a sucker for expanding universes but I did not mind where they left off at all.

I had this exact rant immediately after watching the finale. And I’m with you. I’m one of the only people who continued watching after it went downhill. I was already invested at that point 😐 But I can not agree with your thoughts on Jerry! Everyone loved Jerry, man!!! Good video. 👍
I didn't love the finale, but I was honestly fine with the cheesy estate bombing montage. I was glad because I really wasn't interested in watching them defeat the horde for another 20 minutes... I wanted to get to other more interesting things in the finale. So glad to see someone else who thinks the same about the Reapers, it was just so much wasted time in the FINAL SEASON!
It was the only episode this season that I didn’t fully like. I think the reaper arc was my favourite section this season.

I love the Walking Dead but I will admit as a die hard fan this last season felt more like a chore. And the episode right before the finale made it seem like so many characters were going to die. Anyone that wasn't in a spin-off was an easy target. They could have killed off some characters like Ezekiel, Magna, Gabriel, and Kelly. But no, they just decided to kill Rosita. I don't care about Luke. He was gone for the majority of the season anyways lmao.

It's not a finale because it isn't one due to other shows being made, but what I hope is when they do have a proper finale is that if rick dies, they actually go by what andrew Lincoln wants and have the song hurt play but even then the song hurt playing during Rick's death will be really underwhelming due to Rick's hiatus
It IS a finale though. For most characters AND for the theme. The MEANING of "The Walking Dead" in the literal and figurative sense and whether we are or we aren't is resolved with the end of that story arc. Getting spinoffs doesn't mean it is a continuation, they will have different characters and themes. They just happen to be in the same universe.

I totally agree. You actually liked the finale more than I did. I don't understand why they took the Reaper road at all. It made no sense. The Common Wealth arc needed way more development and they wasted it by focusing on the Reapers. They rushed through Common Wealth stuff and then had that dumb "feel good" speech at the end. Talking Pamela down from taking her own life by letting Lance bite her was ridiculous. She wasn't even built up to be a big enough villain to warrant that type of end. It all fell flat. And as much as I like Daryl as a character, any episodes that focused mainly on him weren't all that great. I can't imagine an entire show centered on him. I'm going to have to give the Daryl Dixon spin-off a hard pass. I really don't think they should have announced the spin-off shows so early and I really don't think there should be so many spin-offs. I was very disappointed with the finale. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't what it could have been.
Ever since Carl was killed off and Rick left, the show had good moments, but it continually felt like a spin-off to a show that used to be my favorite. It never really had that Walking Dead feel again. Then Michonne left and there was even less reason to enjoy the show the same as I used to. Plus, I don't understand them just abandoning Judith and RJ and acting like that was acceptable. The whole reason Michonne originally lost her mind was that while she was out on a run her son died. Why in the world would they think having her abandon her children, even in the pursuit of Rick, was a good storyline for her specifically? I wish they had just found a way to end The Walking Dead in a satisfying way and let it be done with no spin-offs.

Game Of Thrones Ending is Really hard to beat in the Argument of bad endings 😂😂 I don’t think it’s even worth mentioning, it was a catastrophe that Got worse episode after Episode then the Ending was a total devastation. Ain’t nobody Topping that for a while Game of thrones ending is up there with the last Airbender Movie.

I definitely don’t hate The Walking Dead. The show has a lot of meaning to me and I feel it went very far downhill, which is extremely unfortunate. I guess in that sense. I hate some of the decisions that were made towards the end of the show, but I certainly don’t hate it overall.
