Hey Everyone. In this Blender we show how you can build gasoline style explosions in Blender 3d utilizing the KHAOS add-on operators within a Mantaflow sim. We have lots more explosion and destruction vfx tutorials coming soon to our channel! Enjoy and let us know what visual effects you would like to see next!

Greate Plugin for me. But any idea when the Smoke Plume function is fixed? Thanks

We are working on it currently. For some reason the API in the latest versions of Blender are making it difficult to implement in the same way we had before. We're reworking the code to try and fix it at the moment.

Hey, could you please add a downloadable file to this explosion? I just can't seem to get it right.

      Hi Brandon,
A few recommendations to help with simulation experimentation. First make sure to crank up both initial velocity settings in the system parameters in newer versions of Blender. I recommend at least 5-10 for a more violent blast. Second... if you select your domain cube and apply scale to it using "Command A --> Apply all transforms"....then this could help get a more realistic result.
You can also add turbulence fields and such to break up smoke more but my recommendation is to experiment with low domain resolutions until you get something you sorta like. Simulation can be tricky as its not something we so directly control. But very satisfying when we get something we like.
      Hope this helps.
      Brad

Hey there! For some reason, in my final render, the domain becomes a complete gray box and covers up my explosion simulation. Any ways around this?

      Hi Flare,
I've never had this happen before. Is your camera perhaps inside the smoke domain? Are you using the KHAOS fire shader or a different one?

@@LightArchitect So, I figured it out, it was for some reason that if I didn't have a camera in the scene, and I just tried to render from the viewport, it would render the domain as a fill gray box. But through a camera, it rendered perfectly fine.

@@FlareSFM Ok Great! Glad it is working now!

@@LightArchitect Thanks! Oh also, one more question. Is there a way to make the smoke dissapate like in a real explosion? I'm implementing this into an animation of mine and for that purpose I would like it to kind of fade away.
