Big thanks to Games Workshop for sending me a complementary copy of the Horus Heresy box set. I was under no obligation to make this video, but I do have to disclose that they sent me the box for free. - Hry

Hey, it's Alpharius around? I have message for him
@@LeAlejx I thought you were alpharius?
@@plasmanplays6150 no, I'm alpharius
@@poggestfrog ohh shit...
DUDE, What. That marble technique is something I've never seen before. And I'm only 1/4 of the way through the vid!
Yeah it totally rocks, im in love with it. No pun intended lol
Same here I am definitely gonna do this for my next army
I’ve seen that before but have to say that yours turned out especially well. Nice job, the veins really set it off.
Definitely using that for my Custodes army
I think I am going to do marble bases for my sisters of battle army.
It's so cool to see so many Alpha Legion color schemes in one video!

I wonder which one is the real alpharius
The truest form of Heresy was splitting this amazing video into two parts!
Hahaha just like the sundered imperium

The simple trick of flattening the grass underfoot was a total lightbulb moment for me, thanks Eric!
Thats my favourite bit of all of them i think haha
Yeah, the most stand out part of this vid. I've never seen that before, but Eric's eye spotted it and called it out.
Nice!
Agreed, definitely using this idea at some point.
Same, I need to make some additions to my white scars.
As a girl it's honestly hard to find guys who take me seriously when I express my love for warhammer. I plan to save up to get this set so I can not only read up on my favorite event in warhammer 40k history but finally possibly have someone take me seriously during a campaign.
(X) Doubt. Most folks I know are MORE than open to let anyone in, so long as you share the same love and passion, and we're down in Louisiana of all places :V
@@Kepora1 it's a very male dominated hobby there are a few incel types out there honestly
@@kaic-m2865 there are, yeah, but I think it's generally way overblown.
Granted a lot of them I hear about tend to sound like they're in big cities so maybe I guess living in a more rural-ish area just made me more grounded, because even someone who's a literal autist like me knows better than to do this shit.
@@Kepora1 yeah probably overblown because a few bad apples make the bunch look bad, many people are very friendly 👍🏼

Man that marble base is wicked!
Thanks! Im happy with it too.

feels like clickbait with the word every space marine legion...
@@theherpetologist6065 its going to be a 2 parter. The vid is already 30mins long, but I can't speak for those who rather have an hour+
@@theherpetologist6065 feels like it should be obvious to you that this will be a two-parter, and you look like a baby for complaining about this.
Ah yes, the 2nd Legion "Magnet Barons" lead by Primarch Constantine. His mastery of Polarity was considered too Heretical and the Imperial Scribes had him and his entire legion stripped from the records even though they were the Emperor's most faithful scions.
He was far too polarizing.
@@rayvg7709 he attracted many, but repulsed others
Honestly the Magnet Barons being a Legion focused on the commerce and economy of the Imperiam works so well because they attract money both physically and metaphorically
the 2nd legions main form of combat is shooting small metal fragments into their enemies and using their ultra strong magnets to pull those metal fragments out and shred them into pieces
@@synergy8879 So they specialize in shrapnel weaponry? This concept sounds cooler by the minuet.
I'd never heard of "panel liner" before but now my eyes have been opened. Amazing how easy it looks to fill those indented areas
Me that is a gundam fan where panel liners are a essential in making gundams: 1st time?
this is cool, lore + painting cmn it doesn't get better than this
Excellent work Eric, loved hearing your reasoning behind the recipes for each legion!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it
This is one of the best tutorials for every above novice painter. I've been learning the ropes for 25+yrs and learned much.
Thank you for describing the stuff that also didn't quite work with the paint schemes. A lot of painting tutorials focus on the steps and not necessarily the method of getting there, and especially for novice painters like me, describing the thought processes that lead to the choices made really helps!
Love that you made each one have a personality & envisioned their legion. The lore added in was cool too 🙂
Insane! My 8 year old boy and I just watched it and loved it! from the brief lore, quick painting & basing techniques… can’t wait for part 2!
Awesome! Glad you guys enjoyed it
Absolutely one of the best concept videos in a long time from anyone. This is my go to for division development.
Do you think u could do a video showcasing each of the different types of mark Armor? Pick one group and develop the armor variations through their evolution?
Great video Eric!!
That could be a fun video! Perhaps i will
This is awesome simple techniques that make your minis look cool and full of personality, it's refreshing. Cannot wait for the next episode
Exactly what i was trying to do! Thank you for the complement
Awesome job, they all look great! Very cool seeing a bunch of different painting schemes in one video.
One of the best hobby videos I’ve seen in a long time! The combination of painting and lore is perfect. Also the variety of space marines is one of my favorite aspects of the warhammer universe so to have a video show case them is amazing!
Love your balance of lore, visuals, and painting dude. Looking forward to part 2!
This is a tour de force, great work! Perfect intro to the lore and so many great painting and basing tips crammed in. 👏
Absolutely brilliant job! Not only did you do a great job of showcasing the legions, all the advice and techniques you used were helpful and very well done. I can't wait for the second part and always enjoy your content.
The teabag and the dryer sheet are straight up genius
The purple ink over silver for the Emperor's Children is amazing, love the looks of it!
INCREDIBLE video, Eric! Been following you for quite a while and the progress you've made is astounding and very inspiring. The paintwork, the conversions, the videography and editing, the narration... you truly have become one of the best hobby youtubers I follow. Really looking forward to part 2!!
I simply adore how accessible this entire video is. Eric you are knocking it out of the park as always!!
That was great. Really enjoyed seeing all the paint schemes for the different legions. Can't wait for part 2.
That marble base technique is awesome. Your IW figure has me almost convinced to do them after my NL and SOH armies I'm doing. Thank you for sharing.
Your videos are great Eric, looking foward for some necromunda ash wastes inspired terrain.
😎
GENIUS as usual. I've sure missed seeing new video's. Watched the others over and over.
Amazing video. I’ve always loved 40k but I don’t know much about it. Covering the lore and also showing technical painting in your video. Great camera angles, quality and voiceover. Amazing stuff man! There’s few that make content as good as this.
You are a beast. Uploading high quality warhammer videos with great production. Clear and concise in your speech. Awesome editing. 💯💯
Great stuff! I'm loving the clean simplicity that also captures the character of each legion :)
Great video, thank you for showing us ways to paint all these chapters. Looking forward to seeing what you will do with the remaining ones...
I’d been getting out of 40k for a few months now, rewatching this video just filled me with inspiration to do some more. Thank you!
These are amazing, can’t wait for part two!
Just came back for seconds. This is seriously one of the best videos out there for the Heresy. Thanks for making this video!
This is an excellent video Eric! I love your terrain but I didn't realise you had some serious painting chops too! Can't wait for part two!
You should check out his Bretonnian knights, his freehand is pretty rad.
I did the marble technique for my terminator bases, and it came out super wonderful. I'm also in love with the metallic purple you used for the emperor's children, and also for the thousand sons in part two of this.
Definitely saving this for the techniques. They look great. Really inspired to use oils like you did for the Iron Warriors.
This is great, very nice recipes especially for white and yellow. Also love the "headless helmet" slip of tongue at 18:17
So rad! Just got my heresy box the other day. Can't wait to paint em up
I love the marble floor technique! I want that for my Adeptus Custodes.
It’s really cool to have seen your channel grow and the content get better and better. Nice work man!
Really nice job on these Eric. Some simple techniques that just work really well for mass painting. The skin on the Night Lord was especially good
Video came up in my suggested and I'd never seen your vids before. Clicked open intending to just click through---stayed for the whole video and subbed at the end. The grass under the feet?! The light blue under the snow?! GENIUS!~ Thanks so much for putting this together.
Good to see you back champion. Big fan of your videos. I'm nearly finished working on a Brood Brothers military compound that you'd be proud of!
I LOVE this video It gives me the idea of doing this by myself! Thanks Eric
The comment you made about the contemptor Dreadnought being your favorite painted piece of all-time always sits with me. For some reason all of the resin characters just looks so amazing, and the paint job that green and red and black, something about it is just so striking. So besides my normal three armies I really focus on, I'm actually doing the same thing and every month I build a character and maybe a few more units, soon I'm going to have an entire shelf and hopefully it will look just as amazing as yours do. I think I'm also going to upload videos of the ones I do conversions on
Really really cool man. I love how you incorporated the home worlds of each faction into the base terrain. The white Scars model is my favourite. I imagine myself walking the plains with my white scar brothers, watching the tall grass dance into the wind. Before engaging the enemey in combat to defend my beloved homeworld. The stepped on grass effect looked fantastic. Special mention goes to the dark Angels. Stalking the jungles/forests of their homeland in search of heretics to slay.
HOLY EFFING CRAP. That Marble is amazing. I have been watching and trying every tutorial I can find and NONE looked as good as this.
Nice transmission, love how u added to the mystery of the missing legions by not mentioning it till later.
Thanks for the tutorial, I'm a beginner and take this to heart, it's amazingly inspiring ❤️👍
Well done! A fantastic painting tutorial vid plus some 30k legion law to go with. This is one of the best 40, oh I mean 30k videos I have seen on CZcams!
Thank you! Glad you liked it. I tried to get across as much unique character for each legion as possible
Very cool. I really liked the mix of lore and techniques. Thanks.
Brilliant on the white scars man! Great catch about the trampled grass too. It looks like he just landed from a massive jump and the air blew all the grasses around his feet down!
Painting a member of each legion with a base that correspond to their home world, it's a brilliant idea! It really give a preview of what a specific army would look like. Love it!
this is a great mix of lore and painting, thanks for the fun video
This is such a comprehensive series on miniature painting. I don't play Warhammer but I will be sure to reference this video again!
Great video. I am really impressed by the panel liner you are using.
WE MARCH FOR CALTH
Fuck this is epic already mannnnnnnnnnnnnnn, loving it!
Death to the false emperor tho
Brilliant stuff! Clear instruction of simple techniques with very achievable end results! Perfect for most gamers. Bravo.
I really liked the White Scars model, which surprised me as they have always been a chapter that I've never payed that much attention to. I think some of the little details like the face markings and trampled grass made it stand out for me. Definitely the best one in this video imo. Thanks Eric.
It helps that that pose is probably the best pose of the new mark 6 kit! I had the same experience, i have never been very interested in white scars until now
I love how this video is a stealth basing tutorial, awesome job!
That was lovely. Looking forward to part 2.
Your tendency toward terrain building really shows in your bases, and gives an absolute ton of character to your models that I don't see anywhere else
Loved the video Eric, reminded me about those old school chapter paint schemes displays in the old rule books. Nostalgia in a updated form! 😁👍🏻
Man your painting skills get better with every video, that pink marble base is sublime
Good tip I learned about the Dirty Down paints. Get them and/or the target warm using something like a hair drier. It makes whatever reaction they do even more striking.
This was incredibly therapeutic to watch. Thank you.
Dude! You are a freakin' Mad Scientist and a Genius! That marble floor base technique @7:20! Bro! Killin'em!
Aaah finally my man is back at it. Awesome stuff Eric. Inspiration for ages!
It’s so satisfying watching these 2 videos. Watched them 3 times now
Thank you for your work! Perfect video!
yess so cool! always great to see another video from Eric!
up to gthe white model showing sum of the missteps that can fixed is a great display for many to push there paint techniques and just go the flow, great job.
Eric- I really like varying the bases for each legion. My favorite though, is the marbleized floor. I plan on using that technique for a few fantasy minis I recently printed! Thanks for the tips, and keep up the great work!
Wow a mammoth effort doing all these, really makes getting a good look achievable for any legion!
Very nice selection of space marines. Great to see so much difference between them.
Wonderful and a in lot of ways entertaining and educational. Thanks a lot. Can‘t wait to see the other traitor legions!
Casually drops a perfect marble floor pattern - absolutely amazing! 🎉👍
Great work on these, man! I wish I could get battle ready minis that fast and that good looking!
I am ABSOLUTELY using these techniques for White Scars! That looks amazing!
I love that marble technique, I use it on my custodes. I recommend taking a scratch awl and a ruler to make tiles on the base.
That Iron Hands marine was not only painted really well, but that custom helmet was fantastic. Great work!
This is an awesome all-in-one video. Ambitious and very fun, great work 👍🙏
Primarch Magnet Baron gave me a chuckle, well done for leading into an ad in a funny way.
Great video! Lots of great tips! Thank you!
This is amazing! Congratulations!
Loving this video and it maybe my monitor, but the Space Wolves armor seemed to gray and then the gray blue. The marbling trick was amazing!!
Great video, your channel is awesome.
As for me being a complete newbie your videos help me massively.
Also great tips on saving a few Pennie’s too.
Keep up the great work.
From uk, England
You are nothing short of genius. Every figure is good but the pink marble base technique blew me away, followed by the trampled grass. Def going to drop everything to watch your sequel!
Loved this video! Great job, Eric!
I'd never thought of warpaint!
Good idea
Eric you are always impressing me with your talent
Outstanding video and absolutely inspiring work 👏
Nobody has ever made me want to collect/paint marines... until NOW! Great job, I now want an Iron Warriors or Iron Hands army. Or both. Lots of cool techniques I'd never seen before too. Excited for Part 2!
