The torment for this mother is unimaginable. Praying daily for the hostages and that Naama will come home soon.
The country of Israel today was created by the United Nations in 1947 from Palestine. Thus, the country of Israel today is not to be confused with, and has no connection to, the word “Israel” of the Bible.
But the modern nation state of Israel is not the heir of God’s promises to ancient Israel-and here are a couple of reasons why.
First, it is simply wrong to equate modern Israel with ancient Israel-they are two different things entirely. Ancient Israel was a theocratic monarchy in covenant with YHWH, a covenant centered on the Torah, the Law of Moses. Modern Israel, while making special provision for Jewish citizenship and drawing on Jewish ideals and values, claims (or at least aims) to be a secular liberal democracy. It makes no official claim to be in a divine covenant and does not have the Torah as the basis of its laws.

Do you realize how ridiculous and practically psychotic you sound? You sound like someone with absolutely no conscience. And please don't say, "Well, what about the occupation, or children dying in Gaza now etc. etc.". We tried to explain over and over to people like you the terrorists mindset of Radical Islam and Hamas that started, perpetuates, and refuses to end this war. It has very little to do with politics or land. You profess yourself to be knowledgeable about the Bible (which you aren't), but know nothing of the Koran. Since the god of Islam orders it's believers to commit "attrocities" to Jews and all humans who don't embrace Islam for no reason (other than to have the freedom to choose their faith), I suggest you start with learning the verses of the Koran before trying to understand the Bible.
Also, the Bible is full of verses that include the current land of Israel/Bible prophecy about the end times when the Antichrist will make a false peace treaty with Israel, and how both Jews and Christians namely will be persecuted in these last days. The Bible makes it very clear that God will return Jews to the land of Israel and that Jesus himself (as the Son of God/Messiah) will save Israel from it's enemies when she's at her most vunerable (when Israel is surrounded by all her enemies). Then Jesus will reign in the New Jerusalem after that. There are over 30,000 Messianic Jews in Israel today, and more and more will come into their fullness, when the fullness of the Gentiles comes in.

I got chills of surprise and hope near the twenty minute mark! I can't imagine the torment of the whole family and a Mother seeing how she was brutally taken from them. We are praying for you Naama!
Ayelet, I am a trained soprano and I have been singing since I was 4 years old. On October 7 after I heard the terrible news - I stopped singing. For the next 7 weeks I did not sing. Then on Thanksgiving (an American holiday of appreciation) when I was at a friend's dinner for her family, I felt like singing again. Not because of any good news, but it shows I feel everything around me.
Dear Dr. Shachar, I am devastated for you, for Naama, and for the other hostages, and I am in awe of your strength and courage. I have been in a state of suspended animation since I saw Naama's kidnapping video. Like you, I also have to stop watching the news and CZcams videos because of the impact it's all having on me, but I feel guilty stopping because I don't want to forget and I want to stay in a place of solidarity with you, and in a state of prayer and trust that she will come home. I guess I say all this to try to communicate that many, many people, strangers like me, are deeply concerned for your daughter and share your grief, pain, and anxiety. I don't see how we can forget and I hope with all my heart, that Naama and the others will soon be rescued. We are still standing with you. God bless you.

I knew very few Israël society before that tragedy.
Since i went on many topics on the net that show the way they live there.
I enjoyed it and could find some similitudes with the way we live in Britanny/France
in some villages where famillies are very cloth and help together.
I felt a lot of pain to see these people affected almost like they were some of mine but I'm also i'm very admiring of their resilience.
I also felt the importance of the familly and a kind of fair share, people living together.
It's very touching.
All my love goes to this mother.

I watch videos of survivors everyday to keep my mind fresh so I don’t forget and continue with “normal” life and to forget. I want it to be upfront in my mind when I wake up and go to sleep in order to keep on praying, to keep on spreading awareness. She seems to be a very gentle person. She also told in another interview that she phones with Naama for many hours and that Naama was a peace loving girl, who was member of a peace organization and studied diplomacy. Naama seems to be come for her mother in character.

Dear Mrs. Couric, Dr Ayelet Levy Shachar, describes her life right now after 7 October and she describes exactly what PTSD expert Dr. Peter A. Levine once said: 'When you are constantly being pulled back to trauma related experiences, you are not in the here and now, and you can't focus'. You could say that the trauma, the wound stays open. I am so sorry for her and her family that this injustice is done to them. My prayers are with her and her family. Lots of love from Amsterdam to you all. (PS: many people who have actually PTSD are often being misdiagnosed with ADHD, because focusing is also a challenge for people with ADHD).
If mother and daughter can't handle any trauma. Maybe she shouldn't have joined the IDF and become a conscientious objector. If u are in the Israeli army, should expect some trauma as well as inflict it on others.

My prayers are with Naama and her family .This was a great interview by Ms. Couric bringing an ounce of humanity and perspective to interviewing a victim - a mother who mentally and emotionally is suffering. Her daughter taken as a hostage. Her government seemingly uninterested in negotiating a full release of all hostages but remain resolute in prosecuting a war that may eventually end with more innocence being lost. The tears I cry are for her.

Hamas broke the cease fire agreement & stopped releasing hostages, preferring to continue the war. It was not the fault of the Israeli govt.
@@ThaliaLH As to who broke the ceasefire this seems rather unclear to me as it was reported the IDF shot and killed three civilians returning to homes in Northern Gazza hours before the ceasefire broke. It dose seem rather pointless in having gone through the trouble of capturing and imprisoning hostages for exchange to only voluntarily break the ceasefire and resume fighting with the incessant bombardment of Gazza imperiling the lives of so many including the hostages. Seven hundred people were killed a full 24 hours after the resumption.

Unfortunately there is someone even younger still in Gaza, a baby, Kfir Bibas who actually turned one last week, in captivity, He was abducted along with his mother and 4 year old brother and I believe his father is also a hostage, If you google Bibas family on youtube search bar you will find out a lot of information about them. My heart breaks for all the hostages, the Bibas family and Naama Levy included. the pain for the family members must be unimaginable. #bringthemallhomenow

What a picture Naama has painted. How agonizing to hear her words and allow them to sink in.
Although she probably doesn’t know it, mothers like myself have invested pain for her, her family and others around her.
I firmly believe the army are doing everything in their power for the hostages.

This was a tough, thoughtful and thought provoking interview. The
mother’s character is astonishing and admirable. Her feelings and the advise/analogy given to her about moving through the storm is so helpful, but must be difficult to do. This is so difficult to listen and watch, I really hope Naama and all the other hostages come back soon. All the young adults taken that day were my children age or slightly younger, it is so difficult to watch what all their families had gone through. Pray for all of u.

I hate it, when journalists pretend to care and feel with the victims of October 7 and in fact they just want to get a spectacular interview. Was it really necessary to describe the footage of Naama´s abduction to her mother in detail, when she couldn´t bring herself to watch it so far? 🤨
Also, if anyone has a brilliant idea, how IDF soldiers could mange to go into Gaza and find all the hostages without bombing Hamas locations and stuff ..... please bring it on! As we have seen, ceasefire doesn´t work so well, because Hamas breaks it every time. It´s not really possible to negotiate with these devils. They lie and they cannot be trusted. If anything, I can only think of putting Hamas much more under pressure. However ceasefire and aid supplies are only for Hamas´ benefit. They use it for themeselves to recover and keep on fighting.
Naama will be back, Ayelet. She has to. She will be home again and you will hug her and get back the life you all put on hold. ❤

I’ve been watching this heartbreaking news concerning Naama. I remember one of her interviews when she tells of how she talks to her daughter, and is soothing her… This broke another part of my heart. My heart and prayers go out to Naama, and her Mom… She absolutely has seen the video. I find this interview to be sensationalist…
I agree she needs to tune out of so much media overload. And, keep her community close…

And another thing - I could not get those horrid images of Naama out of my mind, nor the girl, Shani Louk & what a horrible ordeal she went through before they decapitated her. I have prayed to God for them & all the others. I have compassion & feel very torn apart by these crimes against women & children - but some of the parents do not seem too much upset - like many many would be. Maybe they are still in shock, or maybe they are in denial??- I guess that is possible.
