The reason why I'm a virgin and single for very long with the age of 31 is, that I was bullied in school what destroyed my self esteem. • @readifdumb

I think the biggest issue is telling guys that they need to be taller, make more money, work out, improve on their personality, improve on their speech/vocals, improve on social situations, get rid of figurines/posters/toys/magic the gathering cards/collectables, stop playing games, etc. etc. You end up eventually thinking to yourself "what are women getting told to do?".
Most guys if they had a 4/10, 5/10, 6/10 or higher girl come up to them, and ask them out, and they were single, they would consider it or accept it. However women often have guys come up to them throughout their life, and quickly deny most of them, and can easily get a partner if they wanted, but often choose not to because of work/career/self-interest. Not to say this is a bad or a good thing, it's jus the way things are.
The standards for men are higher, and some guys end up giving up because of that, especially if they are already born with disadvantages like bad looks, short height, poor environment, etc.
I've had girlfriends before, and practically every single one was terrible for my mental state. It was never a romantic switch and then we connected perfectly and went on our way. If anything, a girl accepting to be with me was a huge deal, and then after the relationship ended, I'd be left with no one for years while my ex would be in a new sexual/romantic relationship within the coming months, and for them that relationship was just one of many to come, nothing special.
I don't condone misogyny or pedophilia or rape threats from these groups, but it is genuinely rough for guys, and I feel like that is often overlooked. It's easy to just call these guys incels and move on, but they'll live with depression, anxiety, and probably either end up killing themselves or hurting others, and calling them incels and being hurtful to them is just added fuel to that fire. Especially if the people you're calling incel aren't actually apart of this harmful subsect of incels - you're just pushing them towards hating society and joining these groups. It's mental illness and social isolation that's causing this. We need to have an open conversation and try figure this out as a society, just like we have done for other social issues.

I know it's hard being shy. I feel like I haven't made a single friend since 6th grade and I was bullied a lot as a kid. It really upsets me and I feel like something is wrong with me. I feel lucky I found someone who likes me despite how weird I am.
As a lady, I never considered people who just walked up and asked me out. How could they know me? No thanks, it's purely physical at that point.
Not every lady cares about physical appearances or how much money you make. If you can both laugh together, you have an in.
There are nice girls out there that feel just as weird and lonely as you do. They have to put themselves out there to be found and so do you. If they are a greedy money hungry wench, you dodged a bullet. A real woman will defend and support you endlessly.
Ps: Modern women do have to surrender a lot in a relationship, but that isn't the focus right now. It's correct that men have toxic ideals pushed on them from a young age. The barrier to entry is less for women, but once we are in a relationship we have to do more (work full time, raise children , and care for our husbands.(most men don't clean or cook at all so all of it falls on women))

I think the most useful skill for figuring out why stuff doesn't work socially is empathy, If you can't put yourself in someone else shoes to have some level of understanding why other people reacted differently how you expected, whatever you do isn't going to help much. Once you get some basic skill in this, the rest is just a road to self-improvement however you want this (and a bit of discipline helps to get results faster).
in my case, I just love comedy so I just went to local comedy shows multiple times a week for years. To avoid back problems, I have to train at least a little so I'm always in some kind of good shape but I mean all in all, you have to work for it:
In RPGs, you do need to train skills to get better at something. It's not easy but you need to do stuff to get your sweet XPs lol.
I mean I'd have been a perfect incel case when I was a teenager as I was in a very bad place: I was such an ugly duckling (bad case of acnea + incredibly thin for my height -> newborn deer style) and kept getting friendzoned mainly because of my looks, total lack of fashion sense and being incredibly geeky so it was kinda hard to relate to other people in general in the 90s (not just girls). It was a harsh time but I kept warrioring through. I'm 41 now and really happy with how my life turned up (anything else I'd say would just sound like dumb bragging...) but when I look back, the journey was so rough and tough in my teenage years until I got out of that bad place in my early 20s and started getting momentum at doing things right.
Even if you end up blooming even later than I did, there's never a bad time to work on yourself; whatever you do, it's an investment for your future :)

One thing that doesn't really come up about why men are having so much trouble getting a girl is that way less people are looking to get married. Back in the day, you were expected to get married and start a family, often in your early 20s. Recently, I saw a statistic on Pew Reasearch that said only 20% of parents say it's important for their kids to get married and a similar nuber said the same about having their own children when they grow up. Meanwhile, 70% say it's important for their kids to get a career they enjoy and 50% say the same for getting a college degree. There was another study that said 25% of 40 year-olds in the US have never been married. People are concerned with themselves, their careers, and their hobbies, but not with raising a family.

Lots of people start a family without getting married though.
In my country, if you live together with your romantic partner you are called a "co-inhabiter" directly translated, and after living together for a year you are in most ways treated by the law as if you were married. It is not uncommon for co-inhabitors to live their whole life, raise kids etc without being married.
It is strange to me that there is no English word for this (as far as I know), it is either boyfriend/girlfriend or husband/wife. Or "girlfriend who I live with".
When answering a question about relationship status or filling out a government form here, "co-inhabitor" is a normal answer and is included on all such forms

For the cold approaching women topic, people seem to forget that yes if you forcefully start a conversation out of the blue with a girl of course shes going to be uncomfortable, but there is a sort of visual contact that needs to happen first. In my experience, if you find yourself making eye contact randomly like 3-4 times with a girls thats two tables over at a bar, go for it, youll find that shes going to be way more open to talk to you. DO NOT STARE AT THEM, behave normally and if while doing so you make eye contact multiple times, it means both of you caught the eye of the other. Once that happened and you think you have the courage to go talk to them, CHOOSE THE RIGHT MOMENT. Dont go and interrupt her while shes busy talking to her friends or whatever shes doing, wait for a dead moment like her friends went to the bathroom or she got up to order something at the bar. Think about how she might feel if you approach her in that moment. the best way I could describe it is: approach her while shes alone but only temporarily or shes alone but not in a vulnerable position like a public space or her friends are nearby. Just remember that she doesnt know you or your intentions and might be scared if you approach her in a context where shes feels unsafe.

    • @DoofyGilmore1299

Probably the best way to explain the topic is as a guy who has done some research and has a little bit of experience from real life (mostly by observing other males who try to date). Chads (attractive males): If you don't try to commit a r*pe or something, you should be ok. Just do the cold approach. This will save you a lot of time. Start a conversation with 10 girls you found attractive; at least one of them would be definitely willing to date with you.
normies (average guys). It is kind of hard to date for normies but you should forget about the cold approach. Just befriend a girl, compliment her with time, increase the dose of your compliments, and secretly manipulate her into staying away from other guys if you want to. At some point, she will see you as her most trusted boyfriend, and when you confess your feelings, she will either give a neutral and delaying response or accept you as your GF.
sub5 (ugle men like me). AI chatbots I can recommend Sillytavern. You kind of need to do a little bit of coding, but it is good. If you don't want to spend your time coding, character AI is also fine.

I used to be somewhat like them but I still managed to get laid. It's only once my teeth started breaking and going bad that I gave up on dating. Being old and poor sucks, don't do it fellas.

Why is it up to them to help you? Why is the onus externalized instead of placed firmly where it belongs: we each individually, incel or not, have a responsibility to ourselves and to society to help ourselves. Seek counseling, work on your flaws, learn to contribute to a meaningful society. Blaming parents and teachers and clergy and whomever for not helping adult men is silly, because these adults are are self-secluded and nonparticipants of the real world. It's none of our jobs to break into dark basements and bust down funko-pop box walls to peel back curtains and turn on lights.

@LakeVermilionDreams this is a pretty dumb take cuz people normally start falling into it as teens and parents play a major major role in shaping people if they can't or won't help their child through tough thoughts and situations they'll go to extremes. Some incels also have mental health issues so them helping themselves becomes 10x Harder. How can you help yourself if you can't even recognize that what you're doing is an issue.

Here's the thing, I've been dealt a really unlucky hand health wise. As a result, I'm a NEET and technically an "incel" (or "femcel," whatever) and things suck a lot, but I can't imagine being in those kinds of spaces.
I was in childfree spaces temporarily, for like 5 seconds, in my early 20s but the toxicity in those spaces - note: childfree spaces, majority women because men are more likely to ID as full on "anti-natalist", also not incel - were too toxic for me. I just wanted a space to go where I could share my thoughts on *choosing* to be childfree as a result of health stuff. Y'know, I was basically looking for support, because the people in my life didn't understand my perspective. I never wanted to shit on anyone though, but everyone in that space had an absolute hateboner for parents, I don't hate parents at all, that's not what I was there for.
So now, I just don't go deep into any online space, and sites like twitter allow me to cultivate my own to an extent. I don't see a reason to enter a space that will ultimately just make you feel worse. The internet is supposed to be an escape and a distraction, and a place where you get to be who you want to be, so if we're losers irl, why tf would we wanna mope about in loser spaces online when we could be doing literally anything else?

You continue to surprise me with your takes on some of these issues Asmon. I like that you joke like "yeah I thought about getting a girlfriend, but then I remembered I needed to farm this mount" lmao! In truth the amount of hate being spewed back and forth between the sexes all day everyday is exhausting and really toxic for all of us. I hope at some point a massive amount of people can realize that nothing good will come from it. There has to be a way we can all be willing to listen as well as be heard. So many of the problems we have come from a lack of respect for each other, which is something we can all work on...being better at listening and respectfully speaking about our own wishes and concerns. There's a quote that I really like: "If you want others to like you, if you want to develop real friendships, if you want to help others at the same time as you help yourself, keep this principle in mind: Become genuinely interested in other people.”

    • @leperface
      @leperface Před 5 měsíci +5

That quote is from "How to win friends and influence people." I'm pretty sure. The title of the book makes it sound manipulative, but in truth that is what it's about. Learning how to show genuine interest in people. Its a great read for people who might relate to incels, or people who want to get along with more people more often. Focuses on things like asking questions, avoiding arguing or criticizing, remembering names and birthdays, and even things like holding your head up high. It takes a logical approach to things like keeping a positive attitude and giving people genuine compliments.

This is what happens when we let people remove our morals and principles (and untimatly religion to enforce those). Most people were good people only because they had to be. Human nature is to only do things to benefit yourself. It's a really sad part of our nature and one that i highly doubt will get better any time soon. Like religion or not, it was something that reinforced morals in all of us. Sure, it has issues when bad people use it, but the good far outways the bad.

When your goal is to deradicalize someone, you can't take them from a 5 directly to 1. You need to bring them from a 5 to a 4, then to 3, then 2, and they can probably do the rest. It's hard to see just how lost someone is when you're sitting at the top of an ivory tower. The disconnect might be too great for your advice to even make a dent.

Maybe it's also the fact that now someone can find any kind of community they want to online and that can create an echo chamber where thoughts and feelings are perpetuated and even encouraged to the point where people go so far as to commit crimes. Even doing so they would get a certain level of clout when society would look down on that action. Probably boils down to a lack of friends or family in real life and they happen to find one online. It's just like gangs on the streets right? Though those actions can be more glorified and accepted and these incel communities are looked at being more degenerate, appropriately so to be fair.

(I heard several subjects in this video that I had comments on so I'm going to talk about all of them because I have ADD 😂).
Women are very expensive and a lot of times they have a high expectation, almost a fairytale view of what their relationship should be like but don't want to put any effort towards that dream, they just think it will happen to them. I regularly knew women from my childhood who's first response is a "no" because they want the guy to try harder.
The dating scene when i was younger was, most kids hung out in the skating rink, the more popular ones would be in the dark corner making out under black lights surrounded by horrible looking neon dots or lines on the wall and look like monsters due to the black lights making everyone's face dark red and their teeth and eyes glow yellow. I don't even know the last time I've seen a skating rink. People would also would go to the carnivals and fairs or go see the latest movie.
I had so much anxiety as a kid about women, i remember i only ever asked one person, she said no, i didn't try again for years. My Dad was the reason for my anxiety i think, I was raised with a family that made fun of you if you liked a girl, (if you raise your kids like that, you're a horrible human.)
To further a point, the incel culture has a lot of places it's rampant, The app called "Ifunny", the website "4chan", both of those hate women and are opening racist towards all races without consequences.
it's hard to cold approach women and they drop so many mixed signals that you can't tell if they like you or not. Maybe to stop all the confusion and cat calling end creepiness, women should make the first move, the issue with that though is, they also carry anxiety but i don't think it's about the same thing.
Just so women know, men don't mind being approached first, they prefer it because of the anxiety, you can be almost aggressive and get men 😂, even if your opener is "hey fatty, you wanna date?" most men i know would take it as a joke and would laugh. you can almost do bodily harm to men and they would still date you half the time lol, we're very forgiving as long as you don't cheat.
