Not many years ago everyone was happy playing at 720p or less Call of Duty MW2, Black Ops 2 on the Xbox 360, 1080p is totally fine, if you want to go to 1440p or more it must be because you really can and want to, not because you have to.
I still play games on my 1024*768 plasma TV, and it looks perfectly fine. It's sharp enough and the motion clarity is great. I have 4k TVs and a 2k monitor but it still looks perfectly fine to me.
If youre playing competitive game, high refresh rate with 1080p is the best. But if youre playing single player triple A game I think 1440p is far more beautiful
What if i have a 4060 laptop and plays Gta V online and Apex at the same time? Is 1080p high/ultra preset look better than 1440p medium preset? No RayTracing for both
i switched from 1080p 360hz to 1440p 240hz and it was the best decision ever. I play mostly COD, Valorant, & Fortnite. 1440p gaming is 100x better visually, definitely recommend!!
It was hard to decide between the ASUS ROG Swift Pro PG248QP 540hz TN with 1080p and ASUS ROG Swift PG27AQN 360hz IPS with 1440p...but hopefully I made the right decision going with the PG27AQN.
Ofc you did bro, your monitor is what you interact with 100% of the time on your PC. you literally stare at it the entire time, due to the nature of using a pc. Always better off to get the better monitor, even if it means going from an i7-12600(k/f/kf) or an i5 12600(k/f/kf) or a similar situation with a GPU, because if you can't use the extra power because your limited why would you do that? You can always upgrade your CPU/GPU/ram/SSD/anything down the road.
dont torture yourself with TN panels, u made the right call. unless you're in like the top 10 best players in your game world wide, TN panels make no damn sense to purchase

No such thing as a certain panel technology being better than the other. No such thing as the perfect panel. Literally all of them have their pros and cons. I have a 1080p 240hz and I tried 1440p 240hz using dldsr a few months ago and I've been using it ever since. I just can't go back to 1080p anymore even if I'm playing valorant or apex I can usually keep 240fps anyways. I know it's not the same as an actual 1440p monitor but the difference is still night and day!
1440p looks great, but on a PC game you need performance. 1080p is fine. Infact 1080p is perfect. Remember 720p guys? Remember gaming on 800x600? Be smart, accept 1080p and definitely dont make the dumb mistake of trying 4k.
If you currently play on 1080p and need a budget pc then get a 1080p with 144 or higher hz but if you already use 1440p get a 1440p or a 4k monitor (you will notice the difference if you already play on a 1440p)

G5. You can notice diff from 1080p to 1440p but 240hz vs 165hz hardly. Also some non-gaming things are just much better visually. That curved screen is kinda cool and VA panel is good overall panel( gaming, movies...). If u are casual gamer go for VA.

Powerhouse of a GPU and I’d say pretty much the bare minimum if you want to make the switch to a 1440p monitor and still want to get FPS above the 144hz refresh rate, of you play stuff like CS2 and other comp games. 6800xt is pretty much the best priced GPU for this stuff

For one, FPS drops, now usually its okay but there are some people who like to also have high fps in their immersive games too, of which not many cards allow at 1440p. 1440p is also bad for old games stuck at 1080p or any media content that is 1080pp, since 1440p isnt a 1:1 scale, it will have to blur pixels in order to scale, leading to a blurrier look. So 1440p no doubt is better than 1080p in most games and productivity, but outside of that, 1080p still holds its crown, especially when its a 24" 1080p compared to a 27" 1440p which is a mere 16 pixels per inch difference

I personally think even the Ultrad Wide displays that are no inexistance with all the "this needs firmware update, they will resolve this issue in the monitor in the newest firmware release" and quite a few other issues with the NEO from samsung oddyssey such as Halow, that all of this.. needs some time, I think 1440p is a fine stepup for now. Im gonna upgrade after new years, I have my specs set up and Im gonna replace my 2 x 32 inch AGON curved 1080p monitors for 1440p and put one of my 1080p as a reference monitor portrait on the right.. I don't even think about the 4K at this point, I feel like we're not there yet, too much is "yet to come".

I would say It more depends on your monitor size, for 24 inches FHD is more than enough.

DLDSR is just Anti-Aliasing and it does nothing other then blur out textures just like FXAA does.. sadly
25" 1080p VA 240 Hz. While I would gladly play at 1440p, that's simply too expensive for me.

I had a 240hz 1440p monitor ultrawide I got as a gift and it broke a week later so I went from that to 1080p 60hz and now 144hz 1080p 😢

Depends on the game you play.
For competitive, refresh rate is always top priority, otherwise, resolution the prime concern for story driven games.
