- Step 1: Download Hamachi: oldversion.com/download-Hamach...
Step 2: Create or join a Hamachi Network; (e.g. Network:facebook heroes, pass: heroes)
Step 3: Set hamachi as priority 1: logmeinwiki.com/wiki/Hamachi:G...
Step 4: Launch Heroes, host a multiplayer game TCP/IP, and then allow both instances of WinFirewall.
Step 3, go back to the main menu, and either join or host a Multiplayer TCP/IP Game. - Věda a technologie
HOLY SHIT I love you man.
Tried to do multiplayer for a couple hours, then tried this and it worked the first time.
Gabriel Zajkowski share it
no ciebie to ja się tutaj nie spodziewałem
bastion nie ssie
One of the best game music I've heard.
Is there a way to get this heap running WITHOUT Hamachi?
Things we've tried to get the multiplayer run over tcp/ip:
-made sure host IP is correct (ie -NO- 192.x.x.x)
-we both disabled our AV, firewall and antispyware
-both of us running WinXP Pro
Both of us still get the "That IP is not found" message, no matter which one hosts. Heroes 3 used to work, but now we have Complete. And it doesn't work. Any ideas?
How do you save game on hamachi, say if you want to come back to a game you and your friends have been playing on LAN?
did you allow the two firewall entries when hosting the game?
Don't you have to configure NAT rules on your home router/firewall on server side?
I don't have the premium account, and I have multiple networks for multiple purposes. Can you PING and see other people's folders through Hamachi?
@Hizorix you are correct Hizorix; even GameRanger is fennmenal, supports tons of games and lots of people still play HOMM. This video is for the purpose of playing without having to open ports, for example if you are out of town or if you cling to someone elses network; you don't need additional configurations. Works anywhere! Cheers!
Hadn't thought about using that! Thanks for the reminder
I apologize for all the questions... anyway; The timeout error. I googled it for some time and couldnt get my hands on any good info. Do u know if its a problem with the game itself, or maybe my connection etc? Would a complete reinstall help? Would love to hear ur response. Thanks
I put the Hamachi on top of the list but my friend still can't connect.Also when I click on the TCP/IP it's not showing me the server like you're.Should my friend also put he's hamachi on top of the list so we can connect ?
Hi Everyone, my buddy and I are attempting to do this and having a problem. IP matches in Heroes and Hamachi (v1.0.1.5), Hamachi is at the top of the Network/Sharing Center list, we are chatting on Hamachi with no problems. Firewall has been allowed, but when one of us hosts a game it does not show up on the list in Heroes. Can't direct connect by inputting IP either, any suggestions?
Hey,
A friend of mine and I have been trying to play this game over hamachi for some time now. We have moved hamachi to the top, disabled UAC, I'm not on a router and still we cant see eachother?
We'r both running vista. Any suggestion?
do you have to have that hamachi thingy to play multi ?
@PlanetDead so, is the problem with the game unable to launch?
or Hamachi not being priority one, or the games not connecting with one another?
invite me to your network, maybe we can figure it out. GMT-8
Yes it matters, but even then you will be able to see the Lobby with all the players in it, then receive an erro rmesage that the versions don't match. I have SOD too. What network are you on?
Hey how do you change network priority on Windows 7? And will it solves the problem the same?
Isn't this game boring as hell over the internet when you have to wait for another player to finish his turn? Is it solved somehow? Or do you just see some screen with "Blue Player's turn in progress" or something?
Hey sorry you probably get this question all the time but...
Me and three friends are setting up a game and everybody joins just fine but when the host is done with his turn, the state of the game won't update for anybody except the host and player 2... and before long players three and four will drop from the game. It's hopeless. Only Heroes has this problem, so there must be a specific solution, rather than 'turn off firewalls, UAC, etc'.
Hmm. Any ideas? Has anybody actually ever played 3+ ?
if ur on winvista, UAC must be turned off for the changes to apply after reboot
Thanks for answering. Me and my mate got the IP to work. But when he tries to find my game, or vice versa, a window pops up and say: " Sorry, there was an error connecting to that session, please try again" followed by another window : "Timeout". Any ideas?
@etnecivv
lol, don't u think I did before asking? and not just one time.. several times... and Step 3: Link doesn't work and what does it mean by "then allow both instances of WinFirewall"? What exactly do I have to do with my firewall? Can you help me out plz?
FOR PEOPLE HAVING HAMACHI ISSUES WITH WINDOWS 8 OR 10.
do the whole, bump hamachi up to top of list thing and if its still not saying your hamachi ip is your IP inside heroes then go to your network adapters. DISABLE all connections except your hamachi one, open heroes, then re enable them. Heroes has no other option to choose and it must choose the hamachi IP. It doesnt switch back after turning the adapters back on.
+nigdean789 also on windows 7.
That does not work for me :( It switches to the hamachi IP once I deactivate the other adapters but once I reactivate the internet adapter without restarting the game it switches back to my local host. Can't find my friend I want to play with and he can not find me either. Anyone have an idea how to get it to work ?
@McTatarka
It is actually fun to setup a 2 minute time limit per each turn, meanwhile you can do other tings online, and the game comes back full screen when it's your turn. It's fun if you can multitask.
is it timing out or is it now showing the hamachi iP/ pls read the video description, or invite me to your network so we can figure it out
@BeWee666
I have seen it work with WinXP, Win7. whats ur network so I can join it and test it out?
What happened to this hamachi server ? i wanna play this one again but i cant seem to find the hamachi info anywhere
@etnecivv
great! but how is it that when i create a game meant for 3 players, the third player can never get in... no matter who creates the game. we are using tcp/ip, and we disabled our firewalls, and use the ip address in-game
Can more than 2 people play Heroes 3 through tcp/ip? Because the third player can never see the game
I'm having big issues with hosting/joining games in the Heroes 3 multiplayer-menu. I simply can't find games and my own games don't display.
Ofc i use Hamachi, the firewall is off and i have the "true" IP-adress
Hi, ive set the network connection as i read in the comments we have the right ip adress with my friend and somehow we cannot see each other in heroes if someone creates a game. we both put h3wog.exe to firewall exeptions. we've downloaded the heroes 3 wog 3.58f version. it doesnt need install just unzip the content. maybe this is the problem. any ideas?
@starnerfourteen yes, you can manually type the IP, which could be an inconvenience due to the fact that heroes does not allow the 10keypad, it only works with the numbers up on the top of the keyboard.
What should I do in order to allow other players to be able to choose what heroes and what town they want to be and such? ;o I can't figure it out. Need help.
Hey wondering if this still works. Using Radmin, IP address in game is the same as radmin IP, but whenever we search for IP address it says it's not found. Any ideas?
I can see a friend's game on the list, but it says sorry, there was an error connecting to this session. Please try again.
What should I do to get in the game? thanks
The IP of HMM3 and Hamachi aren't the same, whats the problem?
I have XP home edition sp3 and my friend has Vista.
I tried to search the answer from comments, didnt help. I don't even find any priority option from connection list!
Please, tell me here, right now.
I moved hamachi to the top of the list but the Hamachi ip and my heroes ip arent the same... my heroes ip did however change but to a totally different ip.. ive tried searching my friends game, still cant find it... any ideas?
i got a mesage when i tried to join: there was an error connecting to that session. pleae try again!
any ideas what should i do?
@yosalam
Same here, the IP address on the Hamachi is different then in the game. What do I have to do ? Please, please help. Thank you in advance !!
@PlanetDead ? pls note this is not the XboxTunnel via Hamachi. Consider Xlink Kai, or XBConnect, those systems can also tunnel your Xbox console in a more efficient way; in any case, turn off your computer, connect the xbox, then turn the computer on; once the computer has connected to the internet then turn on your xbox; then you should see the xbox protocol listed.
Hmm, I cannot seem to get this to work for myself and a friend.
It just wont connect.
Any tips?
how do you get to the place to change those options?
How do you get your ip to be the same on hamachi and heros? It doesn't work for me
Ince again couldm someone help. I'm trying to play this game with my friend and everything is set correctly (I think). When I host the game my friend can see the game from the list. If he hosts I cant see the server. If he tryis to join my game nothing happens until he gets the "there was error connecting to that game." We both have firewall disabled...
I put Hamachi at the top of the list in network connections and now I can't see ANY IP when I go to IP option in HOMM3...
what network did you join
?
Thank you a lot! It was very useful!!
I get error connecting to that session. I'm sure problems isn't firewall. Multiplayer used to work but my internet broke down and i hade to use system return. that made heroes 3 not work even if heroes 3 worked fine at time that system return had been saved.
@etnecivv
Well, I'm using Tunngle and I can join some peoples games, but i can't host or join other HOMM 3 games. (ppl i can play with can join my hosted game). Do you know something that could help me solve this problem?
we can play if there are 2 players. If we try 3 it doesnt work (one of us get game crashed). Also we didnt set hamachi as priority 1, but can play 1vs1. win7. please help.
me and my friend followed your tutorial and it doesnt work.We both allowed the firewall entries we set hamachi priority 1 and it still doesnt work,can you help us please?
ok help me at one think tell me if i am right i go to multiplayer i press the button tcp/ip after i press host and the ip of hamachi is diferent of the ip of heros of might and magic 3 how i can do the same ip?
It has to be the firewall or antivirus or any other security software. If you are on WinVista, disable UAC (User account control)
firewall... can you try from another computer?
Me and my friend do everything as u say but it doesnt work. He join in my hamachi channel and then we go into heroes I host the game but i doesnt show into the window Secions name. Maybe u know whats the problem? :)
i have hamachi and the game i press at tcp/ip?
How do you get Heroes 3 to show Hamachi IP and not LAN IP?
what network are you on?
Does any1 have this problem : After a while ( usually 5-10 mins ) the game "crashes" and the other player(s) get a message "You are now a host, player 1 has left the game" OR JUST "Player 1 has left the game"?
Please help, I tried to google it but no results... And yes, I AM using Hamachi and TCP/IP connection...
you don't have to configure anything on the router/firewall. Hamachi will create a secure tunnel, and you can play, share printers, access shared folders as if you were on the same LAN. This is how it allows you to play Heroes even at the airport; as long as you get online you have access to all resources. Enjoy ∴
Me and my friend cant see eachother, trough hamachi or gameranger. We tested both and nothing. We tested with firewall off/on. and let heroes trough firewall. Nothing works.
it worked when i was at his place and laned tho. But when were at home it doesnt work, Please help.
let's figure it out?
what's your hamachi network and pass?
what should i do if hamachi and heroes ip are not same?
Hey i have a rpoblem i have put the hamachi on top of the list turned off antivirus and firewall and so my friend did! But when we click TCP/IP, we cant see ANY IP adress up there and neither do we see each others games... Please help etnecivv
@nathonas hey are you still hosting this? cause if so i would love to play. i havn't played this game in years and just found it lieing around so i just dusted it off and installed it again. No one is ever on in gamespy so its boring
is this server still working after 3years ??
Me and my buddy is trying to get this to work but we get the same error as a few others, Timeout error, tried joining your network but it's full. What can we do to fix this? :S
Have you been able to find it?
hey how i can change the ip of hamachi or the ip of heroes because its not the same
you got to heroes of might magic 5?
I run into a similar issue with my nephew's computer, and I could not fix it. Try another game on TCP/IP. ... just to make sure the issue is not Heroes.
All firewalls were disabled. All four of us tried to host, not much difference. Still broke as soon as the host finished his first turn.
Hello All! I am planning to write a "fan based" novel which will merge the story lines of HoMM (I to III) with Might and Magic. Are there already some materials excluding the already known info which can be found on the game manuals?
Are you ready with that novel? I really want to read it. I know this was 11 years ago but still...
@BeWee666
sounds as if heroes is looking under the gameranger network (ports) instead of the Hamachi's network. If gameranger runs on windows start then you can try disabling it and use the hamachi network instead.
Does the verios of heroes matter? Im playing SOD
What is your OS?
@Olexa3 What is impossible to find?
confusing stuff. Have logmein set up, connected but cant work it with heroes 3 at all. Still says the same ip for my local connection
I turn off windows firewall! I can ping my buddy via hamachi, but still I see my LAN ip in heroes 3, and game still doesn't work :(
@mutzilnosoundl
i've seen that on Windows7... the connection is simply terminating. try reinstalling game/hamachi.
hey guys please help: when i go to heroes 3 and go TCP/IP i can see only my routers IP address not Hamachi...how can i change it? Please help
etnecivv can u send me a message how to start the game.. we join the same room in hamachi.. got switched it on 1st place from Network connections but he still cant see my game.. how to turn firewall on
ok got it working change hamachi priority: control pannel > view network status and tasks > change adapter settings (left side) > press alt and click on advanced (toolbar) > advanced settings > under connections move hamachi above local area connection. then you can play! THUMBS THIS UP TO SAVE ETNECIVV THE HASSLE
can I get some help? : ) When you go into multiplayer, what then? go to tcp/ip and host a game - and then your friends just search ip? cuz - we just get the message "failed joining session game" or something. help ? :D
how can i set heroes 3 and hamachi IP to the same?
So close but still not working. I can see the game in the lobby but when I try and join its says sorry there was an error connecting....
Maybe its just a vista problem...
@199.... try to see if you can share or view files, if you do, maybe need to reinstall Heroes?
@Zhetelac you have to allow the firewall; heroes launches two items, heroes and some direct play; each one of you host a game to let the items through. let me join your network so we can test it out.
Do you know how to do it with windows 7?
any networks with active users?
@archangle13
reinstall hamachi?
Both me and my friends windows and router firewall are turned off, problem persists :(
how do you freaking change your hamachi or heroes IP to match?
@2kuk2
let me join your network, u on HOMM Restoration of Erathia, or Shadow of Death?
If he can see the game but can't join, then it's the firewall on one of your ends. Maybe I can join your network to test it out.
Do you have an open channel to play on? I would love to join you guys.
Its not working .... I have Heroes on GoG.....we wanted to try it via Hamachi, I saw my brother in TCP/IP menu, wanna to join....impossible, some Error message occured.... how to play it in these days via Hamachi? Anyone any experiences? (We turned off the firewall)
Looks like hamachi has changed over the years. Try ZeroTier
what about the new hamachi?
Can you tell me how to connect with a friend from another city plz?
what music is this?
