  • Hi to whoever this video may reach. My name is Aly, and I studied psychology, I believe just to be able to self-therapy myself at the end of the day. Recently, I decided to start online therapy, only to realize after a few sessions that all I'm essentially doing is squeezing my entire week or things triggered during the week into 45 minutes. Therefore, I thought to myself, instead of saving all these emotions and thoughts for my therapy session, I will just speak into the camera exactly as I would in therapy, but on the other hand, perhaps meet people who truly understand me.
    I know I’m a little tired in this video but I wanted to share it anyway because I think it's important to show my authenticity. Yesterday, for example, I was walking for fashion week in Berlin, which was a long day. Even though I'm usually bubbly and happy, there are days when I'm just not feeling it. It's all part of being human. Life has its ups and downs but it's important to embrace them, be kind to ourselves, and practice self-love and acceptance. That's what really matters in the end.
    It's important to remember that "emotional detachment" isn't about becoming cold or unfeeling. It's about setting healthy boundaries and protecting your emotional well-being. Here are some tips to help you emotionally detach from people:
    - Understand your Reason: Is it due to negativity, manipulation, or simply being overly invested in someone who doesn't reciprocate?
    - Understand your Goal: What do you hope to achieve through detachment? Do you want to reduce stress, regain your independence, or protect your energy?
    - First things First: Detachment begins with prioritizing your own needs and emotional well-being
    - Reduce interactions, both in person and online. This doesn't mean being rude, but it does mean minimizing unnecessary exposure
    - Set Boundaries
    - Focus on Your Own Life
    - Don't Take It Personally
    - Focus on Actions, Not Words
    - Challenge Negative Thoughts
    - Practice Mindfulness
    Remember emotional detachment takes time and effort. Be patient with yourself and celebrate your progress. Focus on what you can control: your thoughts, feelings, and actions. Detachment is about protecting your emotional well-being and prioritizing your own happiness. If you're struggling with emotional detachment, seek professional help. A therapist can provide personalized guidance and support.
