  • New EDITING TRICKS Using PRO Lightroom Masks
    Lightroom Masks. Creative thought when making Lightroom masks can produce amazing new ways of editing, and in this video I’ll share the tricks I’ve developed for creating and using Lightroom masks, specifically designed to enhance subjects. I’m excited to also share a new way of vignetting as well as what I call offset adjustments for subjects vs backgrounds.

    I've been using a vignette that excludes the subject since I first started learning editing. It's such a powerful effect, and I've always wondered why I've never seen it used by other editors. It's cool to finally see someone else using it, rather than the standard global vignette.

      Thanks for letting me know. I love vignetting excluding the subject sometimes when it suits the image. I’m glad you knew that trick already 😊

    Thanks for this Mark, has really helped me with my wild bird editing. Can I ask do you add a little blue tone to the shadows on all your images or does it depend on the colours already there? If it’s a really sunny summer image would you add a different colour to the shadows? Sorry for all the questions but am at the beginning of my photography journey 😊

      Hi, thanks for the comment and for watching. I 99% of the time add some sort of blue to the shadows. Most of the time I also desaturate a lot of the “sunny summer” colours like greens to create a bit more of a moody photo. Hope that helps 😊

    Know those maddening "halo outlines" you get when you lighten or darken one mask too much with respect to another? For example, when you darken the sky? Here's an easy fix: Edit your sky and get the halos. Then create a NEW mask with Select Sky and subtract the sky from that mask, which sounds bizarre. When you subtract the sky from the sky, you end up selecting just the halo outlines because of the way LR does mask edges. Now that you have the halos selected, you can darken or lighten them easily without any brush work.

      Thanks for sharing that tip. I’ve got a video coming out soon with that trick included. It’s a great way to fix those halo’s.

      Hi, thanks for the comment and yes, the file is ok. Preset files are tiny because they only contain data, so it’s good to use. Let me know if you have any problems.

    how do you plug in the ai Denoise and giga in into the Lightroom

    • @MarkDumbleton
      @MarkDumbleton  Před 10 měsíci

      When you install that software, it should automatically be available in Lightroom. If you choose an image, choose Edit, edit in Topaz and it will take the image into the software
