Shooting raw in low light tends to compress the dynamic range of the image. In Lightroom Classic, Shift-double-click on the Whites and Blacks titles to have Lightroom set the white point and black point to the values that give the most dynamic range without clipping. Then tweak them by hand if necessary. It's normally the very first step in my workflow after exposure and can really perk up a dull photo.

Oh! The sharpening at the end of editing tip is one I needed. Thanks for that.

You do great job on explaining and teaching, I have seen many videos and you're probably the best at it. You will have a great future on youtube, your work is amazing.

another super video Mark! I've recently made some changes to my workflow which I think have made my images look better. This adds some more thought for consideration for me in my editing approach. I've found that with my amended workflow, I am adjusting shadows and highlights far less than I used to, but I still run into issues with contrast. I tend to not see contrast very well I think and I know that as long ago as 20 years ago, others commented on my macro shots being lower in contrast (but they seemingly liked it as it looked more natural and pastel colour wise).

@@MarkDumbleton it's the learning new things that's the hard bit!
