Hi. hope it's ok to jump into comments and ask a separate question, because I know ppl here will have good answers -
I'm looking to buy one of the big brand mini arcades: Sega Astro City or Neo Geo Mini.
Being honest, a main motive is gimmick and display. I can play tons of retro games in other ways.
The Sega is clearly better build but quite a lot more expensive.
Will probably get both eventually, but likely to make this decision on basis of game line up.
I have a feeling that the Sega has more puzzlers and platformers, which interest me less.
I'm fine with shoot and beat em ups, the odd RPG and fighter (Im only a single player though, so not too many fighters really)
Sports and driving I really like.
Will also say the Neo Geos full Metal Slug range is very tempting.
Anyhow, which do you consider has the best games line up, either for you or in general? Really interested to know reasons too.
    Thanks

The Amico should be a generic small black box that fits into any living room. No physical media but it would have a USB port to sideload and save games. It should have a simple NES-like controller with 2 buttons. Maybe with an analogue stick instead of a D-Pad so it’s a little different. The Amico would have an app store to buy and download games and it would come with 5 good pack in games indie games. Imagine like an officially licensed Stardew Valley and GRIS preloaded. Release an official dev kit. Instead of nostalgia, market it towards indie games. The console you buy for a 12 year old that wants to get started with developing games. Charge $150.

I mean it was almost certainly discussed or looked into. Problem is N64 emulation would have required more expensive hardware and Nintendo values N64 roms as higher value than SNES/NES. So, it would have ended up being like $100+ dollars and had like 10 games on it. I assume someone with some sense figured that probably wouldn't have gone over well.

8:23 - For the longest time, I kept my PSP around because pretty much all my PSP games but one was playable on my PlayStation TV. The one game that wasn't "compatible" with my PlayStation TV was Dracula X Chronicles (DXC).
So, the last time my PSP functioned, I was doing a Maria run in the DXC version of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (SotN) on my PSP. There's this really annoying bug with the DXC version of SotN that causes Maria to randomly take damage in the inverted caverns. As I was playing, Maria was really low on health, and she was running through the inverted caverns when the bug triggered, causing Maria to take enough damage to kill her.
No longer wanting to play this version of the game and realizing that I no longer had a reason to keep my PSP around, I stood up, spiked my PSP on the floor, grabbed a nearby hammer, busted my PSP into pieces, and threw the PSP in the garbage.

It's not a part of Nintendo's business to sell trinkets? If you had kids you would realize they sell a bunch of trinket crap and are very much in that business. I actually think they are currently selling a nes classic type device but with just Super Mario and Zelda on it, I think it looks like an old game&watch.

They don't produce the "trinkets" directly - they license out their IPs to other companies to produce that junk.

it's so childish to flip your bed when something goed wrong on your gameconsole. grow up people, you dont need to rage over a videogame as a grownup (even as a kid i thought it was stupid but okay... i understand when kids have this reaction nowadays)

Amic should have been a plug and play without these expensive lights on it and lcd screens - should have been plug and play AND supported online for 150 dollar and "maybe" it could have been an okay online console to bring with you to a friends house etc.

The current $250 price makes me believe the company thinks they should take a decent profit from console sales. The reality is many consoles sell at a loss. The price runs counterproductive to the goal of putting lots of consoles into peoples homes, that would encourage more devs to make games for it and they should profit more from the games and accessories.

    “Getting into vinyl”
There’s your first mistake, calling it vinyl. Just stick to digital kid if it’s that hard to figure out the hobby isn’t for you. Start cheap with an audio technica or even some really cheap fun options just have fun

@@Crlarl I payed $30 for my first turntable and it had a ceramic cartridge. But there are so many resources and ways to learn about audio equipment to think he can just ask and get told a list of things to buy is silly and it shows a lack of actual enthusiasm in the hobby. If you can’t figure it out on your own find something else or collect CDs cuz I’m sure some audiophile convinced them records are better. I love my records but they are inconvenient
