What a comeback season for Kane. No one expected him to even be able to play, let alone play at a ppg level
i was hoping rangers kept him for 1 year. Funny how 2 of our RW got injured so we ended up needing a RW he would've been perfect. And looked at him now. Im so mad they let him go. Maybe just maybe we would be the ones in the stanley cup finals instead of florida
From what they said when he came back, only two other players have had the same surgery he did and they did not do very well. He doesn't seem to have missed a beat. LGRW!
@@skyrimnoob75 advances in medicine are gonna eventually make injuries that were once career ending just minor setbacks.

The fact he came in about halfway through the season and his highlight video is still over 30 minutes is impressive
Dude is such a cerebral player. Speed kills, whether it's end to end or just a few inches. A twitch here, angle the stick there, and the other team just dances on your strings. Stopping and waiting forever to make a play after a zone entry. His feet stop and EVERYONE stops skating, almost afraid they're going the wrong way. And the sauce, oh my god the sauce is TOO GOOD. Kane is certainly the firepower we needed up front, with Larkin and Raymond. We tighten up the D a little more, the goaltending gets a little more breathing room and hopefully is a little less feast or famine...
That stretch from january to february were the most entertaining red wings games ive seen in a while. A shame it had to end that way
I hope Kaner comes back, but even if he doesn't it was cool to see him in a Wing's jersey and play at the level he played at.

My favorite Kane goals for Detroit are his ot winners against Chicago and Colorado.
I’ve never seen blackhawk fans cheer for the redwings after they beat them. That just shows how valuable he is to them. I never in a million years would’ve imagined him coming to Detroit, and when he did, it still didn’t feel real. I really hope he comes back. #88 #goredwings
They were very much not cheering for the Red Wings. If the roles had been reversed between him and Debrincat on that play, even though Cat was a popular recent Blackhawks player there would have been no cheers except from Wings fans.
@@grayhudson1095 I know they weren’t actually cheering for the wings. I’ve just never seen them cheer when the wings score, or win for that matter.
He is a joy to watch play the game. Glad I caught a few of them last season.

As a lifelong Red Wings fan, I will never forget that game in Chicago.
I got to witness the OT game winner against Colorado Live from the best seats I've ever had at LCA this past February, I will always cherish that moment and I wont ever forget it. Wings legend Patrick Kane , Yzerman please keep him around and let this squad win another cup. LGRW !!

I was there too. To me it truly felt like playoff hockey but there were so many mistakes made by the wings.

if they're allowed to play together. i fear Lalonde will do what he did last year and do all he can to keep them not playing together. they were by the numbers by far the best trio.

Really hoping they re-sign him. Ken Daniels stated earlier in the year that he would be "shocked" if Kane didn't return. I'd be comfortable with a two-year deal, but anything beyond that would be starting to push it.

You can’t watch this and tell me kanes not finishing his career with the wings. (Besides of course retiring as a hawk) but the chemistry he has with Debrincat and that he’s built with the rest of the team in only half a season… they were a game away from the playoffs thanks to him. I really can’t see him going anywhere else, but I guess we’ll see…
i think Wings are legit in it, maybe even the favorite. lot of factors tho for both sides. he doesn't leak anything so probably nobody'll know until like the day he signs wherever.

@@RyanDallo quite possible. i think Lalonde burying him w the lineups at the end may have been a permanent dealbreaker. impossible to trust the coach going forward and no reason to think he'd get to play w Larkin or Cat at all next year or ever again.

@@awood40 I think the way the season ended really stung fans and made a grace period necessary for a lot of fans to get over it. I could see fans avoiding a lot of Wings content right now, esp about the past season. In time they will appreciate it.
This vid btw is like an anti-highlight vid for the kitty cat. As bad as I remembered it being, when you see them all put together one after another like this, yikes. He had a super snakebit year for the Hawks once and recovered to have 2 straight scorching seasons after. So Det fans should not give up on him.
I don't think the club is too worried, he just moved his family and his playing for the home team, for a 25 year old there's no panic as some adjustment was expected. As for Kane this season to say I found a new respect for him is such an understatement. Perhaps it's also because he's older now or maybe as he had said he now watches hockey obsessively where he hadn't as a younger man but his mind is like a hockey diamond out there. I absolutely love watching his gifted awareness and vision. If the rest of him manages to catch up I think he'll surprise a lot of people.
@@eeegon Cat runs hot and cold, and for unusually long stretches either way. As for 88 his game has matured in such a way that he's become fascinating to watch, not just dazzling as he used to be. My favorite play of the year from him was at Seattle and is in this vid, it's that bit where at 5v5, down 1 or tied late in the game and everything on the line, he takes the pass at the point and the Seattle D just freezes, and Kane sits there at the point w the puck for what seems like eternity before firing a shot that ends up hitting the post. There's a screenshot of that from the angle behind the net showing Kane there w the puck, the two Det d-men are back hanging out together at the blue line completely out of the play. So really it's 5 on 3 for Seattle in the d-zone. But in that screenshot the Seattle players are bunch up in the middle frozen all in a line in front of Kane, basically playing as if they are DEFENDING a 5 on 3 for Detroit. It's the weirdest moment of the year. Not even McDavid or any of these guys cause that kind of stuff.

If we can get a full season out of Kane and Larks AND have a goalie above a 0.915… we are going to be upsetting the oilers in the playoffs when we head to take the cup.
I really hope we resign this guy. We have the cap space. If we don't resign him, then i hope we package some of our prospects up and trade for a younger playmaker who can score. We desperately need Kane like production. Kane freed up guys like Raymond.
