I really liked the way you defined veganism! The only thing I would change about it was the term "philosophy" to "principle". Leslie Cross was Vice-President of the very first Vegan Society, in the UK. He wrote the following for publication in The Vegan News, in 1951. “The object of the Society shall be to end the exploitation of animals by man” and “The word veganism shall mean the doctrine that man should live without exploiting animals.” "Exploitation: the act of using for selfish purposes." (Issue of The Vegan, Volume 5, by Leslie J. Cross, fall of 1949) Vegans, therefore, reject the idea that animals are resources, commodities, property, or slaves because that's the origin of all animal exploitation, and in order to get rid of that harmful idea, humans need to stop perceiving whatever we could use from other animals (or the individuals themselves) as a resource. The use of feathers, hairs, wool, silk, etc., perpetuates the idea that other animals are here for us. Every single use humans have made of any animal-derived material has ended up in animal abuse; hence, vegans target animal use instead of just treatment. Just a bit of a critique: In the thumbnail, it says "Someone will always eat _meat",_ but why not "Someone will always eat _animals"?_ The former seems like it implies that vegetarianism is still okay, whilst the latter removes the euphemism & keeps the victim at the forefront. I've noticed other vegan influences use the term "meat" as well, so I've just been curious about it lately. Thanks & I look forward to another livestream :)
