KC 50 #11 : Requiem (commentary) 00:00:00 (track) 00:01:53 - Hudba
I love how when Fripp's lead playing comes in and it has NO REVERB or delay whatsoever - when he stops, the sound just stops dead. Absolutely jarring and disturbing. And beautiful. This is my favorite kind of improvisation.
At 12:32, it sounds like the lead guitar is screaming, then it's silenced as if it's been killed. Tony's bass part immediately after adds to that feeling... terrifying.
I know right! Their music is just amazing!
don't you mean... no echoes?
@@heisenburgergaming6953 could this possibly be a reference to a popular manga/anime series named JoJo's bizarre adventure
LOL with all that reverb and also it being KC, I know exactly who made this one. Good stuff my dude.
King Crimson requiem, oh my god!
Oh god....
Its like robert fripp watches jojo and decided to release the track after traitors requiem comes out
@@user-hg2lc2vb7n I don't know if you've seen it before, but both the official King Crimson Facebook page and Robert Fripp uploaded some "it just works" pictures a year or two ago, they even got a tiny article about "How King Crimson works" in the DGM live page with a video attached about it (not by they tho)
@@SemenArsonist yeah seen it, that only confirms that fripp is aware of the best villain

Yes
This is way better than the studio version. I could listen to the intro non-stop.
Thanks for uploading this. I've only just gotten into Frippertronics in the last day or so, fortunate how this was uploaded so timely. I often debate with myself whether or not fate does truly exist.. Certainly gives a few hints.
We are all slaves of fate
Sleeping Slaves
Hell yeah.
Such a masterpiece of a song
I had always wondered about the Frippertronics piece and the "Beat" tune's shared title and I must say that this extended construction makes for a much more effective, slow burn composition. Happiest returns King Crimson!
Love that part where it says "REQUIEMOOO WOO WOOO "

50 YEARS AND STILL THE BEST
I’ve always loved the jazzy ECM tuning on Bruford’s kit for this track. You can hear it from the first bass drum hit.
Yea! Plus the acoustic bass by Levin... Is a kind of 'The Unanswered Question' by Ives. A calm background - frippertronics + bass + drums (Brufford increases later indiscipline) and the chaos of the two guitars: Fripp with the dual distorsion (in stereo, a 303 guitar-synt and fuzz in the other side) with, may be, one of the their best solos and Belew with a calming stratocaster that faces the jazz chorums amp and start to creates feedback (in oposition of the nervous lines by Fripp)... A masterpiece, of course.
Robert Fripp is Godlike.
Godlike? He is a God.
Beat is my favorite kc album. There, I said it.
You’ve got balls of steel.
Beat good, but Lizard is best.
beat good
Logically controlled kaos. Beautiful. Robert really knows his way around a tape machine.
That's because him & Brian Eno hung around& worked together.. Check out Roxy Music, " In Every Dreamhome A Heart ache." To see Eno manipulate tape on a Guitar lead in real time. Pretty fantastic for 1972.
I know what you mean, I grew up around reel-to-reels.
Es lo mejor♪
Muchas Gracias :D
Mr. Robert Fripp
Jojokes aside, the guitar really gives me the chills. Amazing song!
Woooow pure, pure art! Super 👍
By far, my favorite song from the 80's iteration of Crim.
At its loudest point, "Reqiuem" sounds like a stampede.
Okay but what is the bosses identity?

There is so much from this lineup that would sound good if done by the Eight Headed Beast. This is one of them. It was good when originally released, the extended Frippertronics/Soundscapes make it even better.
this is my fav from Beat and it's somewhere in the all time top 5 tracks too. thanks alot for posting this fripperinoboi

Even Speedwagon is Baffled

DEVIL'S TRIANGLE - GARDEN OF WORM OF 1982. LOVE THESE DARK , CREEPY , BOMBASTIC AND, INTENSE K.C. INTRAMENTALS...
Oh yes.

I like this piece. But, ya know, after listening to the extended version(as a bass player myself), I think I would've sped it up into a twenty or even 30 minute piece. But that's just me. Love it all the same
Didn't Larks Tongue in Aspic and Starless and Bible Black have the same lineup? It wasn't until Red that the lineup change happened so that Fripp could revive the old sound.
