Back when I was in middle school I actually rode on the Dragon Challenge ride. It was breath taking and it's actually kind of sad to hear that it was closed down because people weren't willing to follow the rules.
Did you like the ride
I think the deadly ride
I got ingerys on every ride
I loved that ride! I wish they kept it
I still called it Dueling Dragons because that’s what I knew it as. Definitely the best ride in the park for me. I was upset when they stopped dueling, got over it, then was more upset when it was shut down completely
The Fujin Raijin II ride was such a horrible incident. The woman who lost her life was only 19, and another person saw how she died from just 2 feet away. Absolutely traumatizing.
She could have fallen, then it will not be the first time a fat man fall in japan.
Same with one that a kid fell from a drop ride and his mother saw him die, he like exploded and she said “I saw his blood and brains at my shoes” and a kid went on a water side and hit a bar and his head was ripped off and the same one was in this video, the verruckt
@@Hawaiian_airlines I have heard about that incident too RIP Caleb Schwab
I rode Son of Beast just a day or two before it shut down, and we all commented on the fact that the ride seemed rougher than usual.
It wasn’t safe for people to ride at they stopped inspecting it
That’s so scary! At least you’re okay. (Wait are you?)
@@Bella-kv7rd Yep, all fine!
I recall that ride, it was horrible..shoot the rapids also had issues and found they closed it a year after, i felt bad for the people stuck at the top waiting to go down 👀💔 i was waiting for my family because i was too spooked to go on it, and i was too scared to go on son of beast, thank goodness i avoided both 👀😱
Thea look,s sceree😬
My fear of roller-coasters and other theme park rides is human error.
Same.
That is a valid fear. But, a majority or amusement park disasters are mechanical, or computer errors.
The Smiler was human error, that didn't even make sure the tracks were clear before overriding the safety feature!! Im just glad I got to ride at least 40 rollercoasters before I became deathly afraid of them and airplanes
With most of the new, high tech state of the art roller coasters. The human element is pretty much taken out of it. Pretty much, the only type of error, is going to be either a computer error, or a mechanical one...
Come on man,you need a hug from work with the same fear

Can you imagine being on a rollercoaster with your grandpa when they go flying out? 😭 Those kids must have been so scared and sad. 😔

12:17 "In Russia, amusement park rides you..." That made me laugh more than a little bit.
I remember Action Park. Yup, it is just as dangerous as described but SO MUCH FUN! The one ride not mentioned was the alpine sled track. Tiny plastic toboggans on a concave concrete track (actually more of a curved drainage ditch, actually) that went down the mountain. Totally rider controlled by a leaver brake and nothing but a few inches of lip to keep you in the trail grove. Usually. Get going fast enough and you could launch your sled off the track an into the hay bales on the tight turns. I know it was possible because I did exactly that. Several times. You just picked up the sled, walked back tot he track, waited for the next kamikaze to fly by and drop the sled back in track to keep going.
The rest of the water based rides were a bit safer, but not much. The river raft mentioned in the video really did have one section called "The Toilet Bowl" After bumping your way down the ride, you ended up on a large basin and, like the turd that won't flush after salisbury steak night, you circled the drain until you went in and through another dark and curving pipe to end up popping out at a sudden drop and dropping 15 or so feet in to the final pool. It was not uncommon to have riders fall, or jump, out of the rafts and slide the rest of the way Staff really did not care about the safety of the rides or riders doing unsafe things, but would clean up and bandage any injuries with care and attention. It was not uncommon for many of the staff to be volunteer fire fighters and EMT's in the local community. (That area did not have any paid fire departments at the time.) I guess working at the park did help keep the skills sharp for those late night car wrecks and other trauma calls.
During the winter the park was a ski resort, of sorts. Not great trail conditions, short runs, and lousy grooming, but it was cheap. I think an annual pass was about the same price as a weekend pass to Whistler, Vail, or Breckenridge. And the annual pass was good for the whole year at both VV and GG parks.
I rode an alpine sled track in Colorado & it had the same exact problems. If you went too fast, you'd simply fly off the track. My young brother did exactly that. He tore up his skin due to sliding on the concrete, flew off the track & needed stitches.
I always wanted to go there when I was younger but never had a chance since it was so far away and by the time I was old enough to make the trip myself and actually had funds to do so it was already closed so I never got the chance to experience it unfortunately..
This comment is long😂🤣🤣
May be long but def worth the read i gotta say
My sister and i rode down one of those several times and had a blast... then we went down for the 4th time. I was ahead, sis went next. There was a small rock on the track and with horrific luck, it got jammed under sisters brake lever. She couldnt slow down. She was hurtling down crazy fast and when she reached the bottom, her sled SLAMMED into mine... but it still had too much momentum, so it flipped violently into the air.
Think about the shape of the carts. When it flipped overhead, it was spinning forward... so the brake handle SMASHED into her tailbone. It wasnt broken (thank goodness. That much speed, weight, and force...) but the bone was REALLY badly bruised. She couldnt sit down or lie on her back until it healed.
Im not sure how it went over me without hitting me too, but my poor sister. Badly bruised coccyx and minor concussion, plus a solid whack to the guy ahead of mes arm. The worst bit was that we were on our way home after a holiday, and that meant many hours of sitting in the car.
"this ride works. Unless it gets too hot, then everyone dies"
Out of all this videos of course you had to talk crap about Russians. How about ride does not work less you loose a leg, im sure you saw those 2 girls loosing a leg

I live near Kings Island in Ohio and rode son of beast dozens of times throughout my childhood. It was always rough and even as a teenager it would make my back hurt but we would often go get right back in line because it was such a wild rush.
Fun fact: My dad is actually one of the people who helped build the Son of Beast when it went up and wrote my name in sharpie on one of the slabs of wood!
Also just to clarify the Verrückt incident did not just 'launch" the boy, the raft was launched, causing the boys head to hit one of the pole rings, decapiting him instantly. The injuries the two women suffered were from the boys head hitting them afterward and the saddest part is that the boys body then slid down the slide where his parents and younger siblings were waiting for him 😢 It was so much more tragic than him being thrown from his seat. Later videos showed the creator of the ride running tests and the raft flew up, just like it did when the boy died, and the creator laughs and says "its good enough for him" amd then they placed the net and opened the ride to the public. 😔
how horrible! id be scarred for life if i was waiting for a family member to get off of the ride with a smile on their face, just to find them not in the ride, and missing their head.
Oh my that was horrible!!😢😢😢😢😭😭😭😭
These people did something for us in their sacrifice, shut most of these rides down! Rest in peace 😢
"so remember kids, 'In Russia, amusement park rides you'."

I agree cuz I’m Russian and my friend is American and I learn from hit btw back to the story so I was 14 and I went to a ride and one of the things got destroyed and it olmost killed me and the other ppl so idk what happened but I’m glad that they shut it down

I’m gonna be laughing at this for years
“Action Park”
Oh boy, here we go
If I saw the profile picture, I would think the name of it would be Cool Axolotl
it wasn't for the faint of heart, but us daredevils loved the joint.
@dnash I’m sure you did. 🙄 That water park was more of a watery grave than anything. I was sad that it was shut down, but it had too many safety issues.
I hate vrükit in German D:
It actually reopened awhile back under a different name. It’s still pretty dangerous; the water is still insanely cold and multiple of the rides that were there when I went a few years back have already been shut down. Some things never change, many things just get makeovers.
I like how he keeps using F.R.I.E.N.Ds Memes for most times. Keep it up!
"A rotating hate crime" ... That description fits quite a few things in today's world.
True that. We have them every 4 years in the USA. They're called "elections."
Meanwhile, this video states that swastikas are illegal in Germany. How on earth are they protected as "free speech" in America?!
I wonder if the designer had intended the ride to look like it did, he might have named it "The Heil Hitler". I guess THAT would have been too obvious.
You didn't mention that the 10 year old boy that died on that German water slide was actually beheaded, which totally horrified me! Image his poor family and other riders having to view the extremely bloody and grotesque horror they can never unsee! All these deaths and accidents are a tragedy, but for some reason this one is so, so gut wrenching.
Yeah, I remember that. I guess his head landed in the lap of the other riders.
I have heard of that.
Was that the ride that the 73lb. boy went into the net above the raft?
That water slide wasn't German it was in Kansas City
@Ian DiGiorgio yeah and that's why he didn't mention it
We’re not going to mention how insanely lucky that kid wad that the cables snapped *before they launched 200 feet in the air?*
"What an unbelievably lucky escape" - from the video, referencing the part you're talking about.
I mean.... it wouldn't have been the first time that happened. Those elastic slingshots are notorious for their snapping elastic bands.
So sad😢
they couldve either got flat like a piece of paper or flung to the moon and fell at terminal velocity
Watching it, I thought the two of them were gonna get catapulted by one side of the ride only, flipping them to their death.
The fact that I want to do most of the rides at Class Action Park disturbs me, because I'm terrified of all the others
got to say, it's amazing how many over sights there are and it turns out a lot of these things could've EASILY been prevented if they just followed saftey guidlines and check ups
surprised even anyone trusts these kinds of rides as well. Seeing how I'd be asking when was their last maintenance, did it go smoothly, and what are the odds of me dying lol
Demolishing a dangerous ride two days after it fails spectacularly, nearly injuring or kiIIing a guest, sounds a lot like tampering with evidence.
*Ding ding ding* That is correct!
Time strap?
Maybe try to let the case finish.
Exactly
Six Flags St. Louis had a standup roller coaster called The Trail Blazer. It was shut down when a lady was killed after her seatbelts didn't work, and the ride started moving.
I am a proud survivor of action park. I still bear some scars from the not so lazy river.
ditto. and the alpine slide

Heard the place was not for the faint of heart 🥴
My stepmom died on a ride. She aspirated on her vomit because of the gravity. I put this out here because I would like ppl to know to try and wait half hour after they eat before going on any ride. Good thing you're alive though because that place looked scary af and I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did lol
Sadly, my mom’s friend died in an accident on a slingshot ride. Let her rest in peace.

@nancymathey1807 you can't resist using uwu speech when somebody is lamenting over their late mother? You're weird, dude
I went on the Dueling Dragons in 2000 when it was less than a year old. The park was slow that day so we went on it over and over for at least an hour without ever having to wait in line. It was great!
The fact that when I went on the green lantern, not only was it terrible, my friend’s phone flew out of his pocket and hit me in the face on the way down. Glad I didn’t lose an eye though....
YIKES! Sounds like you were incredibly fortunate!
Yeah I never got to ride it and I am glad I didn’t
I',m glad i never rode it now.
It’s just like the joker
isnt there cubbies to put your stuff? how'd he have his phone on him even? hes like that dude who made the old man lose his eye. so sad
Son of beast hurt so bad. I remember being sore after I rode it. I can’t believe they closed down dueling dragons, I loved that ride.
Dueling dragons was my favorite
Son of beast lol I rode one and never again
oof that hurt
Speaking of sore, I sometimes get a sore back end from biking for long periods of time. Say maybe 1-2 hours at a time. I've hilariously dubbed it as "biker's butt", easily treated with a relaxing, steaming hot Epsom salt bath. At least, that's what I did whenever the issue arose, and within the hour, I felt a lot better. No more pain, sitting on my rear end, LOL! Thank goodness for Epsom salt, eh?
lawyers ruin everything
Our folks took me and my friend I grew up with to action park all the time!
It really had a feeling that the rides were designed by kids our age (about 11).
I remember the rope swing over the lake with no safety padding where you stood on a platform about 30 feet above a lake shore, held on to a trapeze handle and jumped. There were no straps or harnesses and when you started your jump you were over the ground.
Then (my favorite) the bumper boats where people from age 10 to 70 all got into individual innertube boats in a little pond and smashed into each other, boat engines racing and smoking. Then of course the giant water slides which this video touches on.
Things were different back in the 80s.
I still miss it!
“Instead of a rotating hate crime “ I’m sorry that sent me lmao 🤣
19:10 - I actually went to High School with the girl that was operating the ride at the time that this happened (I believe she was a year older than me) and it was something that she had never been able to mentally recover from, as one can imagine. It was actually forbidden for any of us to talk about at school because of how horrible of an accident it was.
This is insane. I wish condolences to every victims and others affected.
Im sure not, who would. Incredibly sad 😞
@@PoisInous Yeah, it's absolutely horrible
You are right about this, I am sad.
Nice
Dude this is insane… I know these accidents are rare but just the fact that they CAN happen is enough to keep me away from those crazy rides.
Then stay away from cars too. Cars are actually even more dangerous. More car accidents happen a day than roller coaster accidents a year.
EDIT: I really wish it that I included something that made it clear I was sarcastic, But I feel like the first line of this reply should have made that clear.
It happens so easily. I grew up in Vernon down the road from Action Park (Mountain Creek when I lived there) n I almost drowned on the cannonball slide. They hire all the local kids so no one is trained and now most rides you have to wear a football helmet.
@@grayanddevpdx Because almost every American rides in a car every day, smart one. The statistics aren't the same. One you have to be in for responsibilities, the other not so much.
@@chocolatecharley99 I know, But there’s also the fact that roller coasters have more saftey mechanisms than cars, But yeah this is mainly a joke.

They had awesome ideas. They just had to work a few "bugs" out. Maybe provide a hockey helmet for some rides. I can hear the owners defense lawyer when speaking to an injured plaintiff, "so you obviously have never made an omelette". 21:29 so the screams in my game come from the 10 year old boy thing
Back in the 60s, we rode the world's tallest roller-coaster in Crustal Beach, Ontario Canada. It was fabulous by Lake Erie and it seemed as if we were riding over the Lake. Spending through the air,it was thrilling and magical. Sadly due to safety reasons, the roller-coaster was reduced in size Shortly thereafter, the race ro have the highest coaster began in earnest with loopholes around the safety, many theme parks built one after one after one..
I also has a neighbour who was horribly injured at one of Disney's water slides.
He fortunately had insurance because Disney tried to cover it up.That's a story or another time if you want. Have a lovely day.
Actually the Verrückt had a weight minimum of 600lb so they were under what was required. The little boy who passed away was decapitated by the metal bars holding the netting and his brother (close in age, I can’t remember if he was the older or younger) saw the entire thing happen from below. His name was Caleb Schwab. Rest in heaven sweet Caleb
I was always scared to go on that ride
Omg. I’m so sorry you had to watch that happen in horror
@@thetypicalperson1192 When did they say they saw it for themselves?
@@EternallyYoursTruly they said they saw the entire thing below, so I thought they would’ve watched it happen
@@thetypicalperson1192 They said their brother watched it happen lol.
My oldest two kids rode Verruckt the weekend before the fatal crash. My middle son weighed 120 lbs and he commented how insane the ride was. His restraint didn't secure him to the ride and the whole decent he was airborne. He 'crashed' back down into his seat just before the ride started the uphill portion. Said he would have never rode it if he knew it was that scary.
Males could literally have their testicles damaged in a situation like that. I've heard about it happening to BMX Bike racers from bouncing up and down on the seat on rough terrain. I can't believe the people that invent these thrill rides don't worry more about lawsuits. They must figure they're going to make so much money off them, they figure they can afford it. I don't assume something is safe just because they say it is, people still need to use good judgement, and if it looks humanly impossible, it just might be. Maybe a lot of folks are just getting lucky that they don't get hurt.
The sad part about that child being only 10 years old very sad day . I always hoped senators in congress could do something for these rides to protect these children. So many adults and children get hurt or killed on these rides it's sad. Well hopefully the senator that lost his ten-year-old child on this ride hopefully they can do something to protect everybody.

I survived "Traction Park" (Action Park) as we called it in NJ. I went there every summer with my friends while they were open and reopened completely naïve to how dangerous that place was. Okay but the flying swast!kas ride kind of makes me giggle. I mean, come on, HOW DID NO ONE IN DEVELOPMENT SEE THAT?!
Not a coaster, but there is a military building on the Navy base in Coronado, CA that is a perfect swastika, when viewed from the air. I believed they tried painting the roof segments in different colors.
@@elultimo102 So is Denver Airport. The runways.
To be fair, before the Nazi's took the swast!ka symbol, it wasn't a bad symbol.
In ancient Indian language in Sanskrit, it meant, "well-being". So depending on when the ride was made, the symbol could have had a different meaning.
Just saying Lol

I was working at Cedar Point in 1990 when the Iron Dragon didn't stop swinging before it pulled into the depot and ran into the wall. An older gentleman was with his son or grandson if I remember correctly. The kids was banged up, but the man had some significant leg injuries.
Roller coasters getting hit by lightning is also scary as hell! The Corkscrew got hit one day as a storm was rolling in, and shut down every ride in the park for a while. We rode in the second seat of the first car the next day, and at the top of the big initial drop, the car just stopped as we were hanging over the top of the hill. We sat up there for about 10 minutes. My friend and I who worked there were telling the two girls ahead of us stories about the park, when we mentioned that lightening hit that very spot the day before. One girl said, "Wait, WHAT??" No kidding, at that moment the ride started again and we dropped. I've never heard two girls scream so loud during the entire coaster. Good times. 🤣
Ooof.
🤣🤣 that's naughty
Problem is...
rides almost never get stuck upside down...
I’m doubting the things you’re saying
@@dibble1331 I never said upside down. I said it stuck at the apex of the first hill. "...as we were hanging over the top of the hill."
@@caitlyndeambra2209 Oh, I read that too fast lol
I’m assuming the ride eventually continued?
Well, last year I was about to go on a ride. I don't remember the name, but as I was about to enter. Someone pushed me to get on the ride before me, letting him be on the last seat. I was pissed, but as the ride came higher. When it was about to go down, it suddenly stopped. That person looked like he saw his life flashing trought his eyes. So I went to a different ride, a car ride. When I came back, everyone were still on the ride. Luckily, no one was injured. Execpt of worrying, I laugh, since I love dramatic/horrible things and since I laugh loudly when people get hurts. My mom didn't like me laughing because people were scared for there lives😅

R.I.O duelling dragons
Same! There was no one in the line when we did it so we did it over and over
I loved Action Park in the 80’s!
after the smiler incident, tons of cameras and safety mechanisms were added to the ride, so it is technically impossible to override the safety system. you dont need to be scared of it
I grew up going to Dream world Australia and loved the white rapids ride, however a few years ago it claimed lives when a water pump failed causing the raft to overturn. The ride closed down and dream world asked the community what we would like to see replace it.
In 2002 I went on the Dueling Dragon with my son & 11 year old daughter. I thought I had properly buckled her in. The attendant girl was going to every person making sure all seat belts were buckled, she would pull on it & when she got to my daughter she pulled on it & it opened right up! My heart felt like it dropped into my stomach. I was so shocked because I thought I had snapped it closed. The young lady buckled it & If I remember correctly she then pulled down the bar over her. Shortly after that the ride took off. Afterwards, I was still so shocked by that, I never took them on a roller coaster again. Even to this day I have not been on a roller coaster. Thank God they had an attendant going to each person making sure that they were properly buckled in.
oh my god that sounds horrifying! good thing your daughter didnt get hurt!
I'm glad your daughter wasn't hurt!
A lot of rides will pop right back open if you do it yourself. . Attendants are trained to check every single one themselves for that reason, it’s to make sure 100% it is secured the way it is supposed to and by who it is supposed too. Still extremely scary to think of you get that one attendant that doesn’t double check and it’s not secure the right way it could be devastating.
I'm from Jersey and survived Traction Park! I loved that place and never got hurt other than a few very minor bumps & bruises.
The perilous plunge part actually had a sound like in theme park tycoon 2 of the screams
I had been on the Smiler before the accident happened (not the same day) and despite it being a tragic happening, the ride is amazing when the staff are doing their job properly, it also didn’t stop me riding it again after it reopened 😊
Its over hated
It’s currently the best ride at Alton. Well at least until The Nemesis re-track happens
I wouldn't ride it.
Me either. Still one of my favourites but I’m looking forward to nemesis reopening ❤
i rode it today n it was perfectly fine
altho due to the rain or sumit it had to be tested like 10-15 times before reopening. it took 2hrs 30 mins for us to queue and for them to fix it. they have extra safety measures and it was completely fine when riding it
I’m fine with theme park rides but I don’t like fairground rides, I don’t trust a ride that took a crackhead 2 hours to put together

Seeing Green Lantern in person was terrifying. I used to go to Six Flags Magic Mountain every so often since I live nearby and I love rollercoasters. I took one look at Green Lantern and was like NOPE.
The smiler should be called the leg smasher
The snapping cables wouldn't be my main concern with that incident, just imagine if they had released the ride right when that happened or any time after, they would have been launched violently up against the right side support at high speed and probably both died or been extremely injured.
Exactly what I thought
There actually is a video of one of these Slingshot Rides, where the cable snaps mid-ride and the gondola crashes into the support...
It would have sent them on a 180 turn to the ground at fast speeds :/
Yea that happened to someone and one of them injured the leg but happily they're alive 😅
In launch would have been a more spectacular accident but right there on the ground snapping cables can take your head off your shoulders. So many people have been decapitated attempting to hook spring cables on garage doors, others have lost limbs and the tension on those cables is nothing in comparison to the ones on that ride. If that cables had snapped when he was getting in the ride and struck him, it would have killed him instantly right there in front of his parents.
This channel is so entertaining 😌
Yup
Truuuuuu! 2chain
"Sorprendente" in Spanish. 😬

The dueling dragon was tragic. It was beautiful, abd what happened to that man was the other riders fault.
A new name for the the smiler. The loops and oops test cars.
The dueling dragons ride looks like something I would have enjoyed if the authorities of the park had kept it longer. I find the theme and design of this ride really cool, and I wished that the incident didn't have to happen. :/
The wait line for the ride was all encompassing so it really made for an amazing experience.
Yeah I remember riding dueling dragons and it was crazy. And yeah the line was really cool too
Mind you that whole situation happened just because somebody was stupid and decided not to follow the rules.
Just make another ride like that.
I live in Orlando and rode that coaster at Universal several times. Ice was a bit more chill while Fire was more intense. Both were incredible though, and at the speeds they travelled, that loop seemed like you would were really about to die.
It was awesome!
I went to Schlitterbaum a week before that boy died. Firefighters say he was decapitated, not thrown out. I was gonna get on but the line was long so I said "no". I think that saved my child's life because she was the same size as the boy😬
Good thing
Schlitterbaum?
@@loop5312 I think so.. I don’t rlly know witch one the first one in the video was lol
:)👍🏼
You saved your child 5 stars
⭐️🌟⭐️🌟⭐️
Correct.. ive watched alot of videos about the boy that was killed..
Why is barely anyone talking about the trauma of some of the operators and people who saw the people get seriously injured or killed?
I went on Dueling Dragons back in 2013ish and it was a very fun ride with no problems!!
I went to action park in 88 I think. I was seven and at that age I was well aware that it wasn’t safe. Nobody in my family got hurt but I did have several classmates who returned from vacation battered and bruised. There were a few times I was legitimately terrified for my life.
Wow!
Nothing to remember childhood like near death experiences. Those are the best memories.
But, was it fun though?
Omg action park was built 20 mins from my house ! I still here horror stories. Thankfully I was born after. The whole park is gone and overgrown. It’s right next to trumps golf coarse 😂 lol
Ya I Don't think that is safe
The dueling dragons I rode so many times, even when it became “dragon challenge “. It was an amazing coaster.
Ghh
Same, I thought it was pretty fun
@@makerofgarbage5877 it was amazing
The best roller coaster ever
It was that roller coaster my parents forced 10 year old me to go on that made me love roller coasters
I have a story even though it’s not rides, it’s something else.
Me and my friend wanted to go to the trampoline park that just opened and my mother and brothers were coming too we were bouncing around and I did a flip and then 5 minutes later I felt dizzy my head hurt and 1 and a half hours later we went home and I was violently throwing up all over the place so my mum took me to the hospital and I found out I had a concussion.
Worse things happened there but no deaths. Someone broke their leg and their bone was sticking out.
Me and my wife went on Twin Dragons in 2012 when it was part of PotterLand. There was hardly any queue so we went on both dragons one after another. Got to say that it was one of the best cosaters I have ever been on and the only one I have been on with two intertwining tracks.
Shame it's gone.
I also went on Smiler just after it re-opened after the terrible accident happened. Again it was an amazing coaster and does indeed leave you with a big grin on your face. Long ride too, lasted ages.
Can we all just have a minute of silence for those who died on these. 🕊
It's very sad that a 11 year old boy died
I laughed at the trebuchet guy tho I'm terrible.
@@josephdouglas6482 I don’t blame you you can’t hold it in. If he died tho then it would be rude but ur lucky nobody started hating👀
Those to girls who lost one of there legs
That’s making me scared of amusement parks
I rode Dueling Dragons back in the day. It was absolutely amazing. I miss it so much. It's a shame that we can't have nice things because people can't follow directions. Typical, though
Fr i was at universal in Florida in 2017 but i went to the other park not that one
That ride looked so much fun. Rip
69th like
Same thing with Son of Beast. If you’ve ever rode The Beast you would know the whole concept is based around a violent ride. Of course Son of Beast was going to be even more violent. People are a bunch of pansies.
If I own that ride, I'll just put the money and memories above lives.
I did not call Action Park the name you said. I called it "TRACTION PARK". It seemed that everyday someone was hauled away in and ambulance with injuries ranging from head injuries to broken bones to being electrocuted (Yes it say's electrocuted). That last one makes a water ride way more thrilling. The park had so many people transported by ambulance that the park owner bought several ambulances so the local town had enough ambulances if needed. I loved this place. Went there two or three times a year.
19:38 to 19:40 THATS THE SCREE FROM THEME PARK TYCOON 2
13:34 How in the HELL did the operator NOT notice that the test car he sent down the track didn't return?? 😕🤦🏻
I think they should rename it the amputation/amputator so that people can know upfront just what could potentially happen, especially considering how little brain functioning seems 2 be going on w/ the people being entrusted 2 operate this said ride
It gives new meaning 2 the phrase; operator, head, space, & timing 😱🙄
They get paid to little to care
Exactly
thats the point of this video
How about the frowner cuz nobody was smiling after that
I live in Cincinnati Ohio and I have gone to King’s Island every year for 40 years. There are no words to do justice to how brutal the Son of Beast truly was. I am a HUGE coaster fanatic, and I was there the day that accident happened. I refused to ride the ride the year prior after getting hurt myself on the ride.
That ride is not the only ride there to be torn down due to injury or death. The Space Commander at Kings Island was tore down as well due to the death of a female passenger falling out of the ride while inverted and over 100 feet in the air.
you got hurt
Can't even ride roller coasters in Ohio
Well that's Ohio for ya
OHIO ROLLERCOASTERS
I graduated high school in Indiana and we went to King’s Island for family vacations often. I remember riding the Son of Beast and it was awful, glad it’s gone.
When I was 8 I went on my first roller coaster. It broke down at the peak and we were stuck in the sky for about 45 minutes. The entire time you would hear creaking and other unsettling noises. Little me was absolutely terrified and thought I was going to plummet to my end. Obviously they finally got us down, but I haven't trusted park rides since. Don't even like ladders. This video helps me not regret ever setting foot on another coaster since.
Yoooo....how do you not notice the aesthetic of two twirling swasis? That does not go unnoticed in testing
Fun fact : 19:43 : This is actually the screaming sound in a Theme Park Simulation game on Roblox called Theme Park Tycoon 2 A,K.A Tpt2!
I noticed it aswell

Action Park was insane, I went there as a kid. This video forgot to mention the Alpine Slide, a cement slide that you went down in a cart with the a small hand break between your legs. I slid across the cement when I crashed. The park owner bought ambulances to keep there cause of all the injuries daily.
Still exists at Ober Gatlinburg.
Me too--sometime in the late 80s. I loved that ride! The brake was applied by default, so pulling the brake was like using a throttle. It was not a slide. It was a vehicle on a track. The rider could easily choose to go too fast. I mildly skinned my knee on it also, but it was fun.
I *never* rode that looping water slide. That thing was clearly a death trap.
Action Park was super fun because it wasn't just an illusion of danger it actually was dangerous the point of being life-threatening
I live in Kansas City and to be able to say remember that water slide accident is insane and the way that boy died is so awful an gut wrenching. It must have been traumatizing to witness. Going somewhere like a water park you don’t think that it could be the last thing you do or the last time you see someone you love and care about. The fact something like the Verrückt was allowed to open is truly insane and to think all this could have been avoided if they didn’t cut corners. I’m deeply sorry for the people who cared about him a slide like Verrückt should never have existed and hopefully never will again. It infuriates and makes me very sad that this happened but there is nothing we can do except for learn from our mistakes. May that boy Rest In Peace💔💔
THATS INSANE BRO!
Can we just give a applause to the ride “eagles flight” that just did not have any problems and no injuries and life’s taken
I'll give it applause now that the Swastik's where removed
I mean, it could've triggered some bad memories due to the prior design...That is a problem, even if it didn't cause physical pain.
I honestly don't understand how the thing got built. The engineer who designed it had to have known what it was going to be viewed as, probably a modern Nazi supporter.
I wish it was Falcon's Flight with NAzi symbolism. lol
@@tristanjohnson2678 yeah, cus genocide is admirable..?
My mom used to go to Action Park once every five weeks. She said that she was riding Surf hill and flew up and landed on someone else’s lane and crashed. But at least I have six flags in NJ now.
Bro 6 flags just as bad
I went on this roller coaster in sea world in California once. I'm exceptionally slim so I was a bit worried when I noticed that it may be possible for me to wriggle out of the lap bar on one of the roller coasters I was going on. Thankfully, I didn't fall out but it still had me pretty worried in the various parts when I was upside down.
I went on all the rides except the Cannonball Loop ( it was closed down by then) at Action Park around 1984. I was about 10 or 11y and didn’t get hurt but some did scare the dickens out of me. All in all I did have one of the best times of my life as a child then. Shout out to my big brother Paul W…Thank You- Go Bills!!!
Crazy. I rode the “son of the beast” when I was a kid and nearly fell off. My dad had to hold me back.
Props to your old man.
i road it one time and thought to myself, never again. I avoid all wooden rollercoasters
@@Zenkai76 Try going to Alton Towers and riding Wicker Man. Cool atmosphere, fast but enjoyable. But it is wood, i was scared of that at first but then i realised the sturdiness.
We were probably riding together 🎢
Shut up
I’ve been to ACTION PARK when I was younger. Most of their “rides” were dangerous, but the one I got hurt on was a ride that has carts you sat in, and were basically on a cement luge riding down a mountain. The pull brake never worked and twice around a twist I was thrown off, onto rocks. Bad scrapes and cuts. I went to the first aid tent and they sprayed this red shit on my wounds that hurt worse than the cuts themselves. Man that place was fun, but dangerous. I have many stories from there.
"twice around a twist I was throw off, onto rocks" - Am I reading this right that you went back on a ride that had already hurled you off once??
Uh didnt need to swear but nice story
If you bash your head on a rock and die, the park isn't responsible since the rocks are not considered part of the ride... yes, that actually happened.
My life is worth more than a 2 - 3 minutes thrill ride. ❤️
Anyone from that time period remembers ACTION PARK as being the best park hands down.. Much better than Riverside or Busch Gardens.. what an amazing time/theme park.. getting hurt was normal. Glad your injuries weren't worse..
As I kid I used to LOVE the Opa coaster. I went back years later and had been wondering why it wasn't there anymore. Guess I know why now
the dueling dragons were the best ride growing up. Next to the hulk at islands of adventures. it was a really safe ride until people ignored the rules
I rode savage son of the beast and man that rides really does some damage. My sides and lower back mainly because it jerks you side to side without padding on the walls of the coaster you get off feeling like you fought Tyson. Was a really fun ride and a couple minutes I felt fine after. My heart goes out to all those families and people who passed or were severely injured.
