Any Idea how to backup the marlin software and where I can get the modified source code for this machine? I would like to add a bltouch and maybe change to direct drive etc.

Great printer for initial out of the box experience and will I am sure improve once dialed in, I have seen people have to do much much more to get an IDEX working correctly, this was a cinch to get the two heads sychronised

How is this printer treating you? I just ordered one on ebay for $386, it was such a good deal, but I'm worried about reliability.

Hi and thanks for the detailed videos of the Tronxy Gemini S 3d printer. I'm planning to order this printer this week and wondered if you think there is any reason why I should not order this particular printer . I can't see any alternatives that seem to be as well built as this one, so I suspect this is the one to go for with the IDEX setup. Now that you have had the printer for a few weeks have you come across any problems and would you recommend this printer as a good upgrade from the ender 3V2. Once again thanks for the detailed video review of the printer.

I have an ender 3 as well as many other 3D printers, the IDEX is really a different category of printer, I have printed many things so far with very few if any failures, like all 3D printers, you got to keep the bed clean and pick the right temps etc. If you dont need 2 heads then this would be a little expensive but one thing I found a real time saver with this is when you want to print many models of the same thing, if there smaller than 1/2 the bed you can do 2 at a time using mirror or duplicate modes, the slicer only provides the model / models for one side of the bed and the printer has the other head creating the 2nd set, great for coasters, small figures etc, of course there is still the 2 color printing etc which so far has worked out great, I will be doing a video very soon on how to do that with Fusion 360. Given all that, I am very pleased with it.

@@siggiingason1306 sweet! I also ordered the Tronxy Idex Gemini S last week. All prints so far have all been excellent. (Have only printed using Cura so far). I was going to reply to your original messages about printers saying the Flashforge creator pro 2 would also be a good option as it was on sale for 550. The Gemini S for me was also on sale with $100 amazon coupon so was $500. The creator pro as far as i know only works with Flashforge’s own slicing software which is why i chose not to get it. Very happy with this purchase so far. One downfall is the printer was slightly damaged during packaging. The y axis belt adjusting thumb screw was broken and the broken piece was found in the box trapped under the right side lower z axis stepper motor on the very bottom of the gantry. So impossible for this to have happened during shipping which means it broke during packaging and they still sent it without fixing it which sucks but whatever. I sent a ticket with pictures using their website on Saturday when it arrived and still have not heard back. Hopefully they send me a file to print one or a replacement otherwise I will draw one on solidworks and print it. But we will see what they do for a remedy. How has your experience been so far? Great videos from TheBreadboard on the Gemini S! Thank you by the way!!!

@@richhooker1263 Hi Rich, I ordered (via Amazon) and received the Tronxy Idex Gemini S printer about 2 weeks ago. The initial impressions were good, as it seemed well constructed and easy to put together. Once constructed (after watching your videos) I then did a few test prints and aligned the X and Y access for both hot ends, which again was easy to do. Finally I printed the test cube and again that came out well. I then started to do some other test prints and had a few hot end crashes (the right hand hot end would crash into the left hand hot end) which seems to be a firmware problem that has been reported by others on the Tronxy IDEX Gemini 3D Printer Owners Facebook page. I also could not setup the Z gantry properly, in that I could not get it at 90 degrees, so it ended up leaning towards the front of the bed. To me the 4 holes on both sides need to be opened up to give more movement of the gantry before it could be secured at 90 degrees. Finally I also discovered that the left hand Z screw was slightly bent which could be seen when you moved the hot end up the z gantry. I was in contact with Tronxy on a daily bases and they were quick in responding to the problems and did offer to send me replacement parts. However I do think that their quality control and the lack of support for firmware needs to be resolved. My plan is to wait until August or September and then see what the state of play is with Gemini S printer. I believe that once they have addressed the initial quality and teething problems they will actually have a good printer! Happy Printing!!
