Thank you both for this talk, it spoke so gracefully to what has been sitting with me lately. From start to finish, each topic was nourishment. Resting with God, lingering with what provokes us, the holy spirit hovering over the chaos- suddenly it was revealed to me; the dough needs to rest from the kneading, before it can rise evenly, full and light. By rushing ahead, tapping my foot, scrunching myself up into tension wondering why I'm not moving forward, I am screwing with the work that went into the kneading to mould me into the perfect shape, ready for the perfect rise.

Lisa, I've had to push pause just 6 minutes into this as I'm totally having a moment of self understanding! I too have read Sharon's books, found myself in their pages and encouraged my friends to read them. I've shared with you before of the Lord's whisper to me in Thailand just before my world fell apart: "I want you to know what it is to love Me and serve Me in rest." What strange words I thought then but now know them to be BEAUTIFUL words to me. His walk of rest is proving to be a continual process for me, and often I truly suck at it. As long back as I can remember I've been striving and achieving and naturally bent toward being busy. Honestly, I seem to sabotage the very intimacy I crave with the Lord with all the 'doing'. I'm beginning to understand this new way of living FROM rest may be a life long lesson lol. And can you believe I'm also reading Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World this week also lol. Thank you for this interview Lisa and Sharon, you've both been instruments of divine blessing in my life xx
