I also got a pair of flighposites from them like 5 years ago and I always thought they were fakes too. Never got those verified but they looked like shit from the jump.

Bro, “authenticating” is FAR from an “exact” science. Whether it’s check check, or StockX, or some random sneaker store owner, the bottom line is that authentication is nothing more than an OPINION. I have a pair of bloodlines that I have run through check check FIVE times. They came back NOT PASS all five times. Funny thing is that i am the original owner, and they were bought and shipped FROM NIKE.

Thank you for sharing this story. My suggestion is don't worry so much about it. There is hardly a difference between a good fake and the real one. You found out while making this video. In fact, if it's a nike shoe, the fake ones come from the people that make or used to make real nike shoes. From a psychology perspective, we are human beings that don't really note these small differences anyways. You were convinced they were real. Most of the design looks the same. Even the real ones can have factory defects. Shoes are also cheap to make at the end of the day. The real problem is Nike not filling in demands for their shoes. I'm sure they can do preorders to take back profit from resell sites like Stock X. If it was me, I would keep that one and move on. You said the money was a lot. I agree. Another pair isn't worth it because the real one isn't better than the fake. I also recall Tom Sachs wearing fakes himself and encouraged others to do the same. Wearing a fake version of his shoes is like the real thing then in a way.

This actually cracks me up, and makes me sad at the same time. The sad part is this dude seems genuinely sad and anyone that pays for something should get what they pay for. I’m laughing because fakes have got so good it’s nearly impossible to tell the difference. So why keep being materialistic in the most expensive way possible? It gives your ego a boost because you know you have “real” shoes. But what makes something real? The material, the look, feel?
I can’t speak for others but for me personally it’s just about my love for sneakers. I want the real thing. I agree fakes have gotten really good and on some you really can’t tell a difference. In this situation I paid for authentic sneakers and so that’s what I expected to get. I knew I could get fakes much cheaper but didn’t want to do that. I care more about the story and all that it’s not just having the style of sneaker. I’ve been following the Tom Sachs collabs for awhile, really like the design and reasoning he makes things the way he does.

Right off the bat, reps in 2018 were pretty good. You just had to know where to find them. Additionally, the marsyards you can VERY EASILY tell that theyre reps from the getgo simply from looking at the back peel panel placement in relation with the swoosh. There is a big gap, and that is a common flaw on rep pairs. On legit pairs the heel panel should be placed tightly against the swoosh, creating NO gap. Finally, check check is trash. They sometimes say authentic pairs are reps, and rep pairs are real. Just read the other comments about that.

I’m not a sneaker guy but i respect it. Sucks to have a purchase like that and think it might be fake. No one likes the thought of being cheated. It is something that is hard if not impossible to forget and put behind you,
It just makes me want to go get a bespoke boot that fits my feet precisely . That’s $1500 and as much as I would love them I can’t bring myself to do it, if I did though they’d likely be in my rotation for the next 30+ years.
That really sucks... Thanks for enlightening us with this because we need to be more vigilant about the shoes we purchase. If I don’t get them from Nike, it’s a risk buying from anyone including goat and StockX. Don’t trust anyone. I heard of employees switching fakes for reals at StockX and sending them customers as reals.
Yeah I couldn’t believe it. Obviously there’s a lot of good things about these companies but at the same time, their job is to not make mistakes.
There’s a lot to point out in this video:
1.- If you buy a sneakers from a platform, sneaker store or person you always have to get a second option about the authenticity of your shoes
2.- We are humans, we make a lot of mistakes but we have to assume the consequences and do something about it
3.- We have to enjoy things based on the felings, experiences, emotions, etc. Not based on their intrinsic value

im always hearing about fakes getting passed through at stockx. what about goat? ive only ordered 2 pairs of jordans from stockx and they were fine. but, ive ordered 15+ pairs from goat ranging from jordans to yeezys to regular old adidas and air max 90s and never had any issues, thankfully. but, do you hear of the same volume of fakes getting passed through at goat compared to stockx?

I bought a pair of strangeloves and they shipped them with a box that was all tore up, toe box had visible chunks missing of the velvet. And inside and bottom of shoe had noticeable signs of use. When I went to return they gave me a hard time saying they had a “veteran” Authenticator.... been using goat ever since.

I’ve had a lot of good transactions on StockX. Probably over 30-40. But this one is a huge L and ruins everything for me personally.
Well especially if its an expensive item like that. They make more money based on the price of the item, so they should use more of the profit spending more time making sure it is legit. because other than legit checking, the rest of the process is the exact same for every shoe. So if they dont spend extra time legit checking expensive items, why would the fees be so much more than a 200$ item. other than legit checking there is no difference in the labor between an 1500$ shoe and a $200 shoe. It reminds me of how ridiculous it is, that we think we have to tip someone more money for serving us a plate of surf and turf, opposed to a plate of eggs and toast. Not like more work is required based on what is on the plate.

This really shows how silly sneaker culture is. StockX is selling or allowing fake shoes to be sold, people are wearing them thinking they're real and not complaining, someone is trying to sell a shoe that's been worn for two years for almost double the price it was bought for, and someone was willing to buy it. Yet if you knowingly wear fake shoes some people will try to clown you.

ive been doing business with stockx for 4 years, recently it has been going down hill. they have been passing more worn/ tried obviously shoes as ds and shoes with major defects as DS.
I think I started using them around 2017, I don't really remember. I haven't really had any big issues besides this. I think their customer service has always been really trash, I don't know why they can't improve upon that. It sucks because it's such a convenient way to buy/sell sneakers but then things like this happen and gives them a bad reputation.
When u compare panel and swoosh placement etc you must always compare with like size for size because different sizes will differ

I had a similar situation with beluga 2.0’s a couple years back figured there was just some flaws on the shoe due to mass production but stock x was denying all doing of sending fakes
So you just kept them and didn't try to return? Hopefully you didn't get fakes. I know StockX claims they're right over 99% but I know a few fakes do make it through.

DAMNNNN this whole vid is heartbreaking bro. I try to take the "glass half full" approach. SO if you wore them and they brought you joy for 2 years maybe this isn't all bad. With that said i know that feeling of being deceived is brutal! i found this vid after buying a pair of Jordan 1 Mocha's. did a check online and they didn't pass. Then took them to a couple shops all said they were real. compared them to another pair i know came from Nike and i can't see a difference at all but the smell of the shoe is a bit different. Point of this all being that the one result that came back "fake" weighs heavier on me than all the others. Mind is playing tricks on me.... With that said watching this vid combined with my own experience means I'm never buying from resellers again. Just going to take my Ls and keep it moving.. you gained a subscriber with me though. I really appreciate your comment. It's true I did enjoy them because I thought they were real the entire time. That made finding out that they were fake that much worse though I think. I believe I will be able to sort it out in some way, definitely leaves a bad taste in my mouth though when thinking about buying anything else from StockX.
My experience with stock x was great, no complaints. The delivery time was fairly long but not unbearable. And the cost of authenticating and shipping of around £18 seemed a bit steep, but the price of the shoes where the cheapest I’d found anywhere. And for 2020 to get authentic hard to get shoes, I’m prepared to pay that resell price
I have had a lot of good experiences with them as well in the past. What sucks is that it only takes one experience like this and it totally changes your perspective. Because I already know how hard its going to be to get my money back. If at all.

Whenever I get something from stockX I always double check if they are real I watch at least a hour of CZcams vids and research and make sure EVERYTHING is legit from the shoe to the box to the tag.
That’s so unfair man. This is exactly why I choose GOAT over stock X. It’s cheaper in terms of fees and shipping, faster, and I just feel me comfortable that my product was legitimately looked over.

I still believe majority of sneakers from StockX are authentic. However, they have made mistakes and it seems more risky to buy from them than maybe Goat or another 3rd party seller. Serious question what do you do to shoes before you sell them used or after you buy them used for hygiene purposes? Like just spray it with Lysol? I ask because people sweat and stuff leaving some bacteria and odors in the shoes.

Yeah this is suspicious, I'm not even that big of a sneaker head and could tell just from the box that these weren't legit, this guy is obviously doing a promotional video. number 1 is to never take the stock x tag off a shoe unless you know it's 100% authentic.

The last sneaker I sold to StockX they refused bc they said there were “markings” on it and they send a photo of my pair with crazy sharpie marks on them.
They drew on my shoes that were 100% sharpie-free when I sent them, and then charged me 15% and return shipping
It’s the last time I’ll ever use that service!
Probably an employee accidentally did it and didn't want to take blame for it!!!!

Definitely have to watch Stockx. I would hope they wouldn’t intentionally sell fakes but I’ve had to send stuff back before to goat and stockx. Black light check or just product knowledge was the reason I’ve sent items back, apparel too.

Well the box is fake. The inside is missing all the writing and the part that is folded inward on the lid is red (also missing the writing) where it should be white like on all other nike red boxes. Also you can clearly see the "ribs" on the cardboard, with real boxes it's not as obvious as with this one. So yeah that sucks, especially after having paid so much for them.
Yeah from the other people that looked at these for me they said the same thing about the box. I appreciate your comment, definitely helps for anyone else who may be curious on how to legit check a pair of these.

i've sent them sneakers the next day after receiving them from nike, I included the original receipt and they have returned them back as fakes 😂😂

I wasn’t about spend any more money on Stock-X after some really poor experiences, but this is just further confirmation that they should not be trusted. We use these platforms to provide oversight and peace of mind to the buying process as most times were spending hundreds, if not thousands of dollars. So when one of the platforms repeatedly fucks up, we as a a community gotta stand together to de-legitimize that platform, so that others won’t be exposed to the lack of accountability and professionalism.

True, that's why I did both a 12 hour and a 30 minute check on the app. It's definitely good to use as many resources as possible. I had about 6-7 legitimate sources check these and they all came back with the same answer.

I just realized stockx is helping people who make fake shoes by giving them a place to test how good their counterfeits are. All they have to do is keep making adjustments until it passes through an authentication as a legit pair.
