However, according to Tom Sachs the shoe is only meant to be a tool for daily life and work. Well, I decided to start a 365 day weartest to see just how durable these shoes really are! Yeah I got the last xxl when I went so I was happy. There’s another union tshirt that matches those shoes as well. I got it for my brother actually. Says UNION on the front center chest pretty large.

Bro, for work I always wear every pair 8hrs 5 days a week . Normally takes 4/6 months b4 I replace em. I'm talking Nike heavy padded running shoes like $180 - $200 pairs.. etc. This style content is great & I'm here for it but honestly Nike has the hype machine in a headlock!!!
Yep. Recently got into the boot world (Red Wings, Thorogood, etc…always had a shoe fetish long before I was a sneakerhead) and these boots will outlast any sneaker tenfold. Yet everyday wearers will need to replace the soles on them every 4-6mos, like you said. I don’t care what premium materials you have on your kicks, you wear it everyday for a year, it’s gonna get worn tf out!
You are amazing and very humble mentally. I love this shoe and me myself wearing the most and I can’t complain to say I don’t have rotation to do so so I’m blessed for that. The only complaint to say is from others that the shoe runs narrow so I went 1/2 size bigger and I hope I didn’t because they do run TTS since I have wide foot. Hey Blake I'm a true to sz 11M like you & on some shoes like the AF 1's I'm a sz 10.5 mens. I've watched many other reviews of this shoe & many people say go true to size. Would you still say you & my self should do a sz 11M in these or a sz 10.5M like you yourself have done in the video? To add to the question, as a shoe to slightly compair to, I tried on a pair of nike stussy air max 2022 on a sz 10.5 & they fit great on my feet
If you can fit a 10.5 in air max then probably go for a 10.5, I think you’ll be happy with the sizing comparison. Also take into consideration sock thickness. I typically wear average thickness crew socks or no show socks.

Just found your channel…I love these, just bought the yellow colorway. I’m petite and have smaller ankles so I’m not crazy about the way that the padding makes the ankle part loose around the top. I’m really surprised by how worn they were after 2 weeks! I don’t think you’ll make it a whole year 😂…new subbie. Off to look at the more recent vids to see how they’ve held up. Oh, and nice legs! 😂🤣
Hey! Welcome! I like the yellow, trying to get my size soon to add to stow away in the closet for now. Yeah exactly, around the ankles they don’t hug like a traditional sneaker would. That was a factor in me choosing between a size 11 and 10.5. I’m happy I chose the 10.5 because of the fit around the ankle as well as length for me. A week away from 120 days for me and they’re going strong. I think from here to the end will be a quicker progression of wear but we’ll see! Thank you and welcome to the fam 😂🙏

I actually have a trip coming up and was trying to decide which shoes to bring. Think I’m going to bring these and test them out, especially since they can go with a lot of different outfits
Nice! Yeah I think it’s a pretty versatile sneaker. The blue pull tabs throw it off a bit for certain outfits but so far I’ve worn them a bunch of different ways. Look good with pants or shorts imo

I’m not even going to say it but there’s a few colorways I’d go even crazier for than these but at the moment this studio colorway is my #1.

I get sizing down from an 11 to a 10.5 for a more snug fit around the ankle/heel. How did that feel length wise? Was it initially too tight from toe to heel?
They honestly are fine length wise for my feet. A little snug at first yes but not uncomfortable. They’ve broken in and molded to my feet and now feel perfect tbh. I could have worn a 11 as well but would have needed to tighten laces more to secure my feet and I don’t like the look of laces being cranked down.

I think the point Tom had with the all purpose shoe was for it to look beat. It’s like patina on a classic vintage motorcycle or a vintage tshirt or pair of jeans. Not supposed to look pristine for all the shoe collectors.

Hit on the restock, just put them on feet for first time last night… I feel like the more wear and tear on them, that’s the way Tom Sachs intended for them to be…almost like if you don’t have them worn down a bit, you’re doing it wrong 🤷🏻♂️
Definitely agree. After a few days of wear they break in nicely.

Nike internationalists have that outsole, and they are slippy, not the best outsole for 'general purpose'.

Retail is low at $110, I think the materials are pretty good the main issue I see so far (Day 20 today) is the cracking of the paint.

Keep in mind they’re going to be restocked and released in a bunch of colorways as well, so the resell prices are only temporary (in my opinion) and will eventually come down. more people will have access to try abd hit for retail starting in August according to Tom Sachs.

I don’t know how wide your feet are compared to mine but if you’re nervous about it then probably stay true to size

I’m not sure what you mean by no tech, like there’s not any ‘new tech’ in the shoe? I don’t think there needs to be any. They obviously did some extensive R&D if Tom Sachs said they worked on this model for 10 years. If you follow his work he doesn’t just throw things together, there’s always a purpose.

of course it is. I had just a pair of Jordan 6 infrared's when I was 13 and I run, skated, hooped, etc with them for a whole year + and I did not need any other sneaker neither my parents would buy me another pair.
