Some others have had awful experiences. I can certainly tell you that with them raising their fees even higher they better step up their service as well. I need great service to pay more than a 10% premium on top of the purchase price.

      I also bought a pair of the FoG Raids in the bone colorway from StockX. The box was in good condition and the shoes had all of the packaging compared to the black pair I ordered through SNKRS. After a few months of wearing, I noticed the left shoe had too many factory flaws. The Nike check was off center, stitching flaw on toe box, and the production date didn’t match the right shoe. I honestly think a seller put a fake shoe with a real shoe to get it to pass StockX authenticity. Wish I would’ve noticed before removing the tag! Prob never buying from them again.

    My first purchase on stockx was a already worn-in shoe lmao. It had some stains on the textile as well. Bought a different colorway of the same shoe and it looked pretty legit. It really depends on the seller. Why cant these shoe companies just make enough pairs for everyone that wants one. Have a pre-order list, make enough pairs for those preorders. Once you place the preorder, there are no refunds. So the shoe company doesnt get robbed and everyone is happy.

    Hey bro, the same thing about your last pair happened to me (except I was the seller of the shoe). Ultimately, I think UPS or someone stole the shoe, and I was paid my payout and the buyer was refunded their money. I know it sucks, but there isn't much you can do about someone stealing the shoe. Also, it could be held up in their warehouse because of the Covid-19.
    I actually just bought a shoe that didn't pass authentication. But what they did was instead of refunding me, they automatically bought the lowest ask for the shoe I bought, and are covering the difference in cost. Not sure why they did this for me (although it could be because my last order the seller didn't ship), but I will take it.
    Also, Stockx is really dropping the ball with these added fees again. They're going to lose their entire customer base, if they haven't already. I mainly use goat now, and find their services much better.

      Blake Yarbrough Hey man. An update. After all this I contacted StockX and within a day they got it on an airplane on the way here to the Philippines. I then contacted the carrier, DHL, and coordinated with them. The original delivery time was gonna be April 21st, but, after talking with StockX and DHL they rushed it and shipped it all within a day, and now they just sent it out for delivery now, or so they told me. I learned from this that most of this was the sellers fault, but, also that StockX did nothing about the late seller shipping. However, both StockX and DHL customer service was very understanding and helpful, I just hope that StockX enforces stricter seller policies.

    I was scammed bad by Stockx for the 700 Wave Runners. I bought them in February 2021. When they arrived, I cut the tag and put them in my back in the box to wear the next day. I never wound up wearing them though. Last month, I tried to sell them back to Stockx because the price is high now, and they're going to re-release in August. They failed verification for being fake. Then they sent the fakes back to me and charged me $15.
    I am still livid. I'm not an authenticator. When I removed the Stockx tag, I placed my trust in them. How am I, a casual customer supposed to know they were fake? Email after email after email, customer service Tweets, Tweets to the Stockx founder, a certified letter to their corporate office... All I get are the same pre-written replies that tell me they basically don't care.

    I have bought several pairs from StockX now and mine have all been authentic and delivered quickly. Similar to your experience with the waverunners, it's been great. Recently I managed to luck out on SNEAKRS for the Jordan 1 Court Purples, but I also won another raffle from END. The pair from SNEAKRS had a stamp in the lid box and the pair from END didn't. Also, my two pairs of travis' didn't have stamps in the lid and are european pairs. I think ultimately there's so much variation in production that it is sometimes difficult to authenticate. Plus there's so many contradicting legit check videos on youtube for all pairs. Invest in a black light torch (great way to authenticate most sneakers). Having held fake pairs of sneakers I can honestly say that you can ALWAYS tell between authentic and non authentic. Smell being a big give away! Great video however! Subbed. *EDIT* Having watched the ending of your video regarding your lost order. I think in the current climate with the global pandemic, I feel like there has to be a little bit of slack given to StockX and delivery companies. Bear in mind that your order being lost or a problem in transit is purely on the delivery courier / service, not StockX. I've ordered stuff from several places over the last 4 weeks and on a few occasions my packages have gone missing or not arrived, this has always been a delivery service issue and not the retailer.

    The tongue is supposed to be crooked. A straight tongue is sketchy. Also the reps have very little wrinkles if any on the tongue. The more tongue wrinkles the better. Feel the tongue width. The reps usually have a thicker tongue. Look for the hour glass shape. Feel the inside heel. On fake pairs it's 2 separate pieces if padding. Real ones have 1 piece of padding rolled around the heel. Compare the size labels. Reps usually have thicker or thinner size than a real size tag.

But the box had the stamp inside that you mentioned. I inspected everything else such as stitching, logo, and tags and everything indicates that shoe is genuine. However, I lost that peace of mind that the shoes in genuine because if it happened to you it can happen to me.

    I’ve sold 6 pairs of shoes on stockx and I’ve never had an issue, they spam me with emails when I’m nearing the shipping date, easy to ship to them, it’s pretty good... I hate the fees and think discounted fees for being early would be nice cuz like I sold my Jordan 1 retro 85 and lost like $125 cuz of fees even though I shipped fast

  • @1way448
    @1way448 Před 4 lety +2

    Couple things,
    A really good way to tell if your obsidians are fake is to take out the insoles and compare them to your brothers pair. They should be identical. Any variation you see should be a red flag, material, feel, pattern and direction of the glue stripes, etc.
    I have never bought a pair of ones without the stamp on the lid, that is very strange.
    About your idea for stockx seller reward system it won't work because stockx has several loopholes that people exploit. All you need is a "label plug" and basically you can have them scan your label prematurely before you even have or pack up the shoes, this way it tricks the system into thinking that shoe has already been shipped when that is not the case. Too many sellers exploit this now when trying to get "presales" for high prices. All it takes is someone who works at UPS to scan for you. Stockx cant really do anything to follow up on this besides call UPS and hound them for the whereabouts of a specific package which is not practical. This might be how they lost your shoe (just a guess). Sometimes sellers scan a shoe and then never even acquire it so they never ship out and then you have a shoe "lost in shipping."
    They have a lot of issues to work out but I still like them. Whenever you have a problem with a purchase you need to contact them immediately within 3 days of receiving the item and complain as much as you can.

      @BlakeYarbrough  Před 4 lety +1

    Blake, I took a look at a couple of Obsidians from my closet... the tongue is pretty crooked and the heel of mine, while it isn't as pronounced a curve as yours, does curve in. The box not having a stamp is odd and probably alarming. The one thing you didn't comment on too much was the quality or cut of the shoe (up close details). The quality on Obsidians are generally regarded as fairly good on the J1 spectrum. The leather in the toe box and side panels, in Sail are generally very good, soft, buttery. The university blue portions of the shoe are also, likewise, very soft. How was your StockX pair?

    • @BlakeYarbrough
      @BlakeYarbrough  Před 4 lety +1

      BUSURF2 thanks for commenting! Overall the quality looks fine I’m pretty sure they’re fine BUT the box missing the stamp is SO weird. I’m sure it’s possible that there’s not a stamp but I feel like the odds of that are so small. I still don’t know what I should do at this point.

    I am also a perfectionist lol. The first time I bought on StockX I bought a pair of Onyx 380s (I left another comment on one of your videos about them). I am happy with them, and convinced they are real. This is mostly because they are from StockX so I trust them. But also because of some small, nit picky, flaws.. The line down the middle of the sneaker is thinner comparing it to my Calcite 380s. The sole isn't "perfectly" glued on, it overlaps just slightly in the back on one of the shoes (I could send pics to get a better idea of what I'm talking about).
    The point I'm making is there are some manufacturing flaws that I wouldn't expect a fake sneaker to have. Also, they are 380s so you can catch them for under retail most of the time.
    I wear all my shoes and don't intend on reselling any of them. So it doesn't bug me that much. But when I pay extra for an authentic sneaker, I want it to be legit.
    I just bought a pair of Zebra 350s, I will check them for about an hour when I receive them. More than likely they will be from the most recent restock in the EU, so there will be differences with the numbers on the tags comparable to the US models. But I am expecting them to be legit because they are from StockX.
    I think StockX should have a feature that let's you send a pair of sneakers back to their legit checkers to have them checked even further if the buyer has any suspicions that the shoe is fake.

    Not that I’m defending StockX, but they shouldn’t have to compensate a buyer if an order gets cancelled. They’re not responsible for an individual seller to ship out an order, maybe if StockX ran all their business out of their own inventory it’d make sense to compensate when orders are cancelled. StockX is a middle man dealing with shipping internationally, I recently purchased the Travis 4s from StockX and it took 3 weeks to receive the shoes. I live in Michigan which has a StockX facility in Detroit so shipping isn’t usually long after it arrives in Detroit, but due to my order coming from Canada it took forever I’m assuming with customs because of Coronavirus. So I think as a consumer we just have to keep that in mind, because I was also upset about the delay in my order.

    Have had about 3 notable issues in 15 transactions with them over the past couple of years. A pair of Nike AJ3 Tinker Airmax didn't come with the Nike Air hangtag, a pair of AJ2 Radio Raheems were missing the shoe trees, but other than that the shoes themselves were fine... ds condition and nothing looked off. Emailed regarding the tag and they answered within a few days, but apparently that falls within their regulations for what can be considered ds, "can be missing accessories like extra shoelaces, tags, etc." Little annoyed at that, but it did come with all the other accessories besides the hangtag. The third was bidding related. They cancelled a winning bid of mine and couldn't get me the shoes for a similar price, so ended up passing since the next low bid was $50 higher. Was a bit pissed at that. I did get a full refund like you. Other than those, my experience with Stockx has generally been good. Shipping times to my international location have typically taken no more than a week or so.

      Xmasochist yeah I think it’s whack that “accessories” like laces, tags etc are not considered part of the shoe being DS. To me that is necessary. I’ve heard of shoes like off whites missing extra laces and stuff. Sucks when you spend so much money. Thanks for the comment 👏

      @@BlakeYarbrough but of csuse if their tag was missing from the shoe that would be an issue but they can send you a shoe without a tag and it's not... Bullshit how it works in their favor

    What happens if they don't ship it. When do they issue a refund for not shipping ?

    I think StockX is great for more rare sneakers, but I prefer to get pairs from trusted local sellers more.

    What's the verdict?.

    Appreciate this video a lot. I was thinking about buying the Off White vapor street ‘polarized blue’ but couldn’t decide to do it on Stock X or Goat.

      I have had more good experiences on StockX than bad. I know StockX now charges sales tax I’m not sure if GOAT has started doing that yet or not.

      Blake Yarbrough thanks. Also I looked at my bloodlines and the back has the same short and wide box and the tongue is tilted like your and the back is curved but my box has a stamp. And I got mine at footlocker

    I have a pair of aj1 off-white unc. I purchased them back in July 2019. Now they're still DS, and I haven't taken the stockx tag off because I questioned them. The off-white zip tie slightly crooked, and the box was a little off, and all the laces were wadded up. It sucks and I want to believe they're real. So, I'm not sure I should keep or sell.

      KingPrize they’re from the container store. Drop front boxes. Here’s the link. www.containerstore.com/s/closet/shoe-storage/large-drop-front-shoe-box/12d?productId=11006294

    I would like it if they attached an RFID or QR tag that you could scan with your phone to check for the authenticity. The reason I say this is because of people selling fakes on places like eBay or Depop with StockX tags on

    You can't always go by the inclusion of the stamp. I bought a pair of Jordan 1 Chi to NC patent leather from Nike and I didn't have a stamp. Hit on SNKRS app, came in nike box with an invoice and no stamp.

    This is why I use GOAT, I’ve never had an issue with them, it may take a longer process but you know your purchase is legit
