I’m not much of a comment type person but after watching i felt compelled to comment. I have eaten this way for 8 years now, found forks over knives due to doing research for my husbands health. He was put on Lipitor at 40, had very high cholesterol, high blood pressure and pre-diabetic. I was worried about him being put on those meds for life at such an early age plus had many people in his family with heart disease. After only a year all of his levels went back to normal and he was taken off Lipitor and everything is still perfect. As for me i too got “awesome” periods. Zero cramping what so ever. I still am shocked by that to this day as i had terrible cramping for days every month prior. Also another great side affect i had was my allergies completely went away. I had terrible terrible seasonal allergies all my life. Then suddenly none. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Sorry this is so long but had to comment after i heard your “awesome period” thing. Haha

Okay-I hear you so much!! I had my gall bladder removed at the early age of 27!! I wish I would have had the knowledge of a HCLF diet back then! I’m now 41 and pre-diabetic. I’ve been trying to stick to this lifestyle for almost a decade, something clicked recently and I’m on week 2 and feeling great. I’m not fixated on weight loss but am following the starch solution and know that the extra 70-80 pounds will naturally come off, I’m down 4.5 so far, have way more energy and feel amazing. Thank you for sharing your story, you are an inspiration for me and so many others! 💗

I literally woke up in pain with a gallbladder attack. Waiting for my Dr. appointment on Wednesday. This is miserable. As I am laying here on my heating pad low and behold this video pops up. I’m 40lbs overweight, tired, anxious, etc.. I literally feel like a prisoner in my own body. You are so inspiring and have given me hope and some motivation to try. I am going to give it a shot. I toyed with a plant based diet but it seemed intimidating. You make it seem so easy. Thank you for the content you put out. Wish me luck!

Sweetheart......do a coffee enema and it will release the stones.😉 Then you can change your diet, lose the weight, and keep your gallbladder. Get your kit from the Gerson store. It is very easy to do and it also cleanses the blood.

LONG COMMENT ALERT 🙃: I wanted to share my vegan story with you, bc you play a major part in it. August 6, 2020, I was sent home for a direct COVID exposure at work - I’m a critical care registered nurse. Nervous and scared, I went down the rabbit hole of reading journal articles on COVID and came across one that stated those that eat a plant-based vegan diet tend to do better with COVID than those that are eating the standard American diet, and individuals that are in a normal weight range do better when compared to obese individuals. At the time I had been a pescatarian for 7 years, more so vegetarian as I ate very little seafood. I was 214lbs, 5’10”, and I told myself at that moment that I’m going vegan and I’m going to get healthy. That’s when I found you! I appreciate you so much for being part of my journey! ❤️. In a very short time, maybe 4 months of being vegan I lost 42lbs, went from a 14/16 in jeans to a loose 8, and feel the best I’ve ever felt. I went vegan for my health, but have stayed vegan for the animals, the environment, and my family (who is almost all the way vegan 🙌🏻). I love your content, your energy, and how you keep it simple & real ❤️❤️ Thank you!! Ps, I tested negative for my exposure, but if wasn’t for that scare I’m not sure I would have gone vegan literally overnight.

I love your story! It’s amazing to me though, that medical professionals as yourself, PA’s and even Doctors don’t know that the problem is the FOOD that most Americans eat! I don’’t know why that information is not taught in Medical Schooling! It’s almost as if the industry Wants us to be sick. Because it seems to me that it’s just common sense when figuring out why someone is ill, why not look at what they put in their bodies to sustain themselves in life and then if the answer is not found there, to begin looking at giving the patient pills to help them. It seems like a No Brainer to me, but then I’m not a Medical Professional, so what do I know.

I gained a lot of weight and became unhealthy when I moved to the America. I started eating a lot of meat and a lot of processed food. I had to cut out processed foods and go back to eating whole foods, and by doing that eating all that meat just ended on its own without me even trying. I eat shrimp and canned tuna and thats it for seafood and I barely eat that. Not that I don't eat meat but I don't eat meat cause I don't crave it. My chronic headaches went away, I dont drink any juices bought in a store only my smoothies, I consume no processed sugars and the weight I gained which was a whole 80 pounds just went. No crazy workouts I just go for my regular walks around d block not fast because I walk to relax. Active meditation. I do intermittent fasting naturally cause I can't do breakfast. I didn't get her hunger feelings because I know that fats and protein fills u up so I added that to my diet through avocado, oils and seeds like chia. I drink my fiber for extra fiber by mixing benefiber in my smoothie or just in water.

Covid has definitely played a part in my journey to eating healthier. That and knowing that I’m approaching 40, so I can’t play around anymore. I have tried all this time to give myself all the fighting chance I could to handle the virus in case I face it. I went vegan for health, and stayed for the animals. They say nothing tastes better than skinny feels, well, nothing tastes better than a good conscience feels either. I love being vegan.

I love when women don't shy away from telling their audience how their menstrual cycles(or female issues) have been influenced. So many of us have issues that need healing and sharing that info is so important. Men will survive and really there is no reason for them to feel like it's such an inconvenience to hear about for a few minutes ...esp if they have have ppl they care about who happen to be women. Just my opinion. Thank you for sharing & being transparent. 😊

Oh my gosh! The gallbladder information was just what I needed to hear. Last year I had a sonogram (?) of my gallbladder (and liver) and found I had several small stones. The Dr. recommended I have my gallbladder removed. At that point I had only been eating WFPB for a couple of months. Last week I had my annual "wellness exam" and blood tests. Dr. told me if my liver panel came back the same way she would recommend I have my gallbladder removed. Well, it all came back normal so no issues! I don't now if I still have the stones but I am so relieved. I will continue to pay attention to signs of gallbladder issues but I think all is well because of WFPB eating.

Thank you for sharing this! I, too, had the exact kind of gall bladder attack that you described on New Year's day 2019. I vowed to do better for myself but kept getting in my way, like you said. Sadly, it wasn't until I had a miscarriage and had emergency surgery this past May that something in me finally clicked. Now my miscarriage wasn't caused by my diet, but the health scare once again made me realize that I could be treating my body better. I wanted to be here for my kids and husband and myself.
I started eating a whole food plant based diet literally the first day of a family vacation in July and I haven't looked back! :) And YOU are one of the first people I started following on my journey and I'm so glad I did! I have even got my husband eating more plant based thanks to the positive results he has seen in me ❤
    Again, thank you!

My wife went vegan a year before me. We got into arguments sometimes over veganism. I knew all the typical talking points any vegan has to deal with. (Plants have feelings, we have canines for chewing meat, and of course PROTEIN) My wife is very strong minded and I eventually secretly went vegan in hopes of proving that it doesn't work. I know. It was shallow. Anyway, 2 weeks in, I felt great and I told her. She was thrilled and shocked. Afterall, I'm a country boy that grew up on a farm with a southern accent and I drive a pickup. But, I never looked back. Been vegan 5 years now. It throws people off just bc I don't fit the stereotype theyve been shown on tv, but I wasnt put here to be put in a box. I've since quit caffeine and alcohol too. I feel great. Idk if you ever hear this. I never do, but I'm proud of you.

Thank you for this video! Yes, keep ‘em coming Tia! I subscribed to your channel after looking for recipes that were plant based, trying to find inspiration to cook for just myself following a painful divorce. The older I get, the less I like eating meat. Just doesn’t taste good and texture is meh. Years ago when I lived in Spain I naturally fell into a mostly plant based(occasional fish) whole food diet and dropped 4 dress sizes(only exercise was walking). So I know it works in promoting health and maintaining a healthy weight. Unfortunately I found myself eating the typical American diet again once I returned to the States, and except for the 3 years I lived in San Diego, getting little or no exercise. The pandemic(poundemic) really packed on some unwanted weight (thankfully not as much as my weight when I first moved to Spain)and lo and behold I’ve experienced occasional gall bladder discomfort! I’m with you, I don’t want to have surgery(I’m a retired OR nurse). So your channel has the perfect format for what I know my body has been crying out for. I’m feeling a nudge to stop procrastinating and jump in. Thanks for that!

I love how you talk and explain things and put feeling into it all. A lot of videos I’ve seen so far are just super quick and extremely edited and it takes the feel of a personal experience out of it. I love that I can watch your videos and see your excitement and joy for this way of life and that encourages me to push on. I am just now discovering all the vegan, wholesome plant based diet type things and have a full notebook now with all kinds of notes from 100s of videos and 100s of audio books lol. I am 100% convinced that I am doing this. My husband agreed to do it with me. I am 29 years old and my husband and I have 4 kids. We’re tired of eating such shitty food and tired of feeling like crap and sick and tired of being sick and tired. I feel much older than I am and we’re done with it. We are fed up with extremely processed, extremely unhealthy foods. We are going whole food plant-based and I am so grateful for your excitement and all of your videos. It makes it feel possible. Right now I am just trying to figure out how and what to stock my pantry with. I plan on going shopping this week for everything we need. My pain was in my upper stomach so I knew it wasn’t my heart but OMG was it painful. I ended up letting it go a couple days since the pain stopped and it gave me pancreatitis and I was in the hospital for a week and they removed the gallstones. First of, you were glowing in this video. So, full of passion and healing for yourself and your community. I've recently gone WFPB per my wonderful doctor to help me heal from chronic yeast/bacteria that has been apart of my life, knowingly for a few years. For years I did the traditional Candida diet and prior to that I was "trying" to stay healthy and did a low carb/high protein- MEAT, moderate fat diet. So, it's know wonder I'm in this situation. Fortunately, for me my weight is just sneaking in the healthy range. I have tons of fear attached to eating these carbs, but know that it's the way to heal my gut biome for a future that is healthier. Your story is amazing and I KNOW you'll be a shining light for so many others to live healthy.

Great video Tia and it's fantastic that a vegan whole plant foods based diet has helped you not just with your weight loss but general health and the animals and the environment with also benefit. I find a vegan whole plant foods based diet benefits me because whenever I have consumed vegan processed junk food it's usually when I get sick with a cold and vegan processed junk foods are expensive and not budget friendly and also have questionable ingredients that aren't good for the animals ( because the production of the ingredients effect their environment) and aren't good for our health for example coconut oil, palm oil, shea fat are high in saturated fat ( might as well be giving yourself a heart attack because they increase risk of heart disease the number one killer globally). Love 🥰 your video's and love ❤ Tia.

Before watching this video, I had come down with the flu, and was nursing it thru the different stages - first not feeling well, then chills, then aches, then sore throat, then coughing. Yuck! But what was crazy was that in-between, my husband brought me a carry-out because I was so ill, I couldn't even think to cook. He brought me Aloo Gobi from our local Indian restaurant; he knew it was my favorite dish and he felt in fell in the WFPB realm. But, the oil in the dish threw me into a gallbladderr attack like i haven't had in years! I knew immediately, it was the oily dish. Add that to already feeling like crap. OMG - the pain was excruciating! I flip flop WFPB because my husband is a meat eater, and I will eat meat occasionally. But I wanted to tell you - I watched your video two days before my GB flare-up. What a strong message - eating WFPB. Food is so healing.

Tia, what a great video. I started my journey on March 2020. I have lost 20 lbs. Love the way I feel. I had my blood work done in March and then I was pre-diabetic. I asked my doctor for 6 months to see if I have any change. Gonna wait till after the New Year. I know it will be better. Hoping you will share more like this. I am 62 and the lose skin is probably the only issue I don't like. Did you have this problem? Mostly my arms

you are so right about how easy it is to be whole food, plant based. even low fat. Food decisions are so easy now. does it come in a package with a list of ingredients? then dont eat it. I stopped the all-or-nothing thinking, stopped worrying about carbs and fat, and made the changes gradually. it has been so easy, and I found so many wonderful new foods. thank you so much for sharing your amazing story.

Also coming from SAD, with occasional bouts of LC. I have been controlling my blood sugar with LC and OMAD. I was petrified to go HCLF, but it's been totally awesome, so far. How interesting. I am having a similar situation with my gallbladder. My first biliary colic was in mid June. It lasted 7 hours and was terrible. I got an ultrasound and many small stones were discovered. To make it short I immediately stopped eating eggs, dairy products, chicken, fish, and most other fats (I already did not eat meat), but I still got some colics, although not as terrible as that one. I also started taking a medication that works for some people, but not all, in dissolving stones and avoiding the formation of more. Nonetheless a second scan in September still showed many small stones, that according to the doctor can be even more dangerous because of the risk of emergency surgery becoming necessary. So I have surgery scheduled for the 23rd, and keep wanting to cancel it, but am afraid of a stone getting stuck and needing that emergency surgery, carried out by whoever happens to be available. It's quite the dilemma!

Tia!! I feel like I found your channel at the exact right time! I have been having gallbladder attacks for several years now, they aren’t predictable or follow any specific kind of meal or pattern. However, I finally brought it up to my PCP and got an ultrasound, sure enough gall stones and a fatty liver. Of course they referred me to a surgeon, but I’m terrified of going under the knife. Your story gives me hope that maybe I can kick this issue by changing my diet. I just wanted to thank you for all your recipes and encouragement! How do you cook for your kids? My daughter (6) will eat raw not cooked veggies, so I try to fix her side salads for dinner, but in all honesty the veggies are just a vehicle for the dressing. I want to instill in her a healthy lifestyle, so she doesn’t go through what I went through my entire life with fad diets and unsustainable eating. Any tips?
I also want to know your skincare routine!

My curls have come back also. :) My hair stylist makes comment about how long my hair has gotten and more curly each time I go in. I owe it to WFPB! My nails are the same. They used to be so brittle, but now I have to cut them because they get too long for my liking.

The gallbladder thing is no joke. My issues started after the birth of my daughter. The first signs were yellowish skin and eyes. The urgent care doc I visited gave me a hepatitis test and sent me home because I had no pain. That weekend, I went into shock and spent a week in the hospital with pancreatitis. My gall bladder was removed when the pancreas stabilized. My daughter was 8 months old! As a side note, Tia, do you have a specific video outlining what got you to stick to a WFPB diet?

Great video. I’ve been struggling myself for many many years. I think coming across FOK was the first exposure of WFPB that I saw and since then I’ve been trying to be completely plant based but it’s been about 10 yrs now and i’m still not there. I’ve read all the books, watched the movies etc but find it hard to fully commit. I’m not giving up but just keep taking it one day at a time.

Did you ever have tightness or pinches around your gall bladder area? That’s what I’ve experience. I had emergency appendix surgery in college and don’t want to get gall bladder surgery. Bc it can cause other problems afterwards. So I have been working hard to lose weight and eat better. I need to be more consistent. But glad to hear you improved naturally. So far lately no probs, and hope to lose more weight!

I seriously need to get out of my own way. I eat vegan meals 50% of the time. I love it but then I go back to my old ways. I don’t eat in the morning so I end up starving then grabbing something easy and not vegan. Any tips to get out of my own way and make this sustainable for me?

    • @HealthyVeganMama
      @HealthyVeganMama  Před 2 lety +1

Have some discipline 🙌🏻 and don’t look for motivation. Motivation is fleeting. And honestly we can know all there is to know about what to eat, but if we don’t have good habits in place surrounding that, it won’t stick. I would recommend the book or audio book atomic habits. Awesome!
