@@ZephyrBWI like to think that as time passes, the brothers’ real experiences morph into a full-blown fairy tale. Details aren’t only embellished to make things more fanciful (and to fill in some more secretive blanks), but to do the classic duty of the genre in being a warning, or morality story.
Of course it’ll never be known, but perhaps the eldest was simply existing with his powerful creation, continuously drawing more ire and envious eyes from his peers. Similar to a person today who becomes a target merely from wearing some expensive jewelry, his death may not have necessarily been spurred by him boasting about his wand. Regardless, his life is cut short via senseless violence, kicking off the trail of greed and further loss of life in pursuit of the Elder Wand. The narrative is ultimately rearranged into a fable about an egregious pursuit of power and ultimate downfall.

I have a different theory about the Resurrection Stone: during a high-school biology class, we cut open the eye of a cow and there was a glass-like lens inside. A part of a thestral's eye seems fitting for an object that lets you see the dead, much more so than a bezoar.

I like the idea of a bezoar being the basis for the resurrection stone. But, what if it was an attempt at the philosopher's stone? If the wife of the second brother was sick, and the second brother set to alchemy to cure her but failed, it's fitting to pivot to trying to resurrect or at least communicate with her. Using his knowledge of alchemy, he was able to create a stone with properties to reach the other side of the veil. He was no longer interested in eternal life, but one step further in resurrecting the dead, fell short and was only able to communicate with the dead instead.

My personal theory on the cloak:
The cloaks opaque side is always described as looking silvery, so what if it actually IS silver?
All of the objects that have kept enchantments for long periods of time seem to have some sort of metal component, and we know that goblin metal absorbs that which makes it stronger. So the cloak could be a brocade of goblin made silver which is why it's able to hold on to the disillusionment charm for so long. This is also supported by the cloaks appearance in the films, which is rather like a brocade.

There might be certain enchantments done to the invisibility cloak to to change the power to be permanent. His intent behind using the stone wasn't to bring back his loved ones and force them to live forever with him. Instead he wanted them to help him with strength so that he could meet Death, or rather his fate/friend, quicker. He wasn't avoiding or refuting the inevitable rather pushing himself further towards it. It is both a testament to his character and the intent with which the stone is used.

I think the Resurrection Stone has more to it than just a thestral stomach or kidney stone. I think that the second brother created the stone deliberately by feeding a thestral a small piece of the Veil because that wording was very deliberate meaning the Veil has something to do with it. It would also explain why no other RS seem to exist despite it under your idea being fairly simple to recreate, it’s because its creation was deliberate. As for the cloak I would argue that the thestral hair argument makes sense but it’s was powerfully enchanted to remove the exception (those who have seen death) of seeing it so that once activated so no one could see it a simpler solution is simply the best option here. As for the Elder Wand I got nothing here (we know so much yet so little about wand making) as it just seems like the wand was lightning in a bottle that given the same resources to say Ollivander couldn’t be recreated the wand was simple luck as far as we can understand about wand making.

The sorting hat is also gryffindors. It is much more his artifact then the sword. It is the means of sorting and can read people's deepest thoughts for that purpose, plus it is sentient in its own right. It's the means for the sword to appear to Gryffindor students, the sword never does this on its own. The sword doesnt really have any magic abilities but the hat truly shows what a magic artifact can be and how good Gryffindor was to have created it. No other artifact in the books shows nearly that level of sentients with the possible exception of pictures/paintings which copy the subjects intelligence but the sorting hat is uniquely it's own.

Not entirely on the topic of the deathly hallows, but on the topic of crazy powerful magical artifacts: I believe that Lupin is actually the most powerful wizard of his generation, maybe even more powerful than Dumbledore, and he’s the reason the a bunch of Highschoolers maneged to make an object more powerful than the founders of Hogwarts themselves. Think about it. We know depression can make people loose there magic, like with Merope Gaunt becoming a squib beacaus of domestic abuse, and Tonks loosing her metamorphosis abilities when Lupin continues to reject her beacaus of how much he hates himself. If there’s one depressed character in the books, it’s Lupin, yet he always seems to be plenty powerful. The only explanation for this is if he would have been crazy powerful if he actually had good mental health. And the time in his life he was happiest was when he had the marauders, and that’s when he was able to reach his full potential and create the map!

    2. In “The Other Minister” Fudge tells the Muggle Prime Minister “We’re importing 3 dragons….” This means that the organizers had already planned on the Horntail, Ridgeback and Chinese Fireball. They needed a 4th dragon. Hence Welsh Green.

As much as I agree with the Bezoar theory, I believe the animal from which it comes is not Thestral. All animals considered IRL, the Bezoar is found only in herbivores such as Goats, Ox, Cattle, etc. Bezoars are made up of undigestible fruits, skins, seeds, etc. Thestrals on the other hand are predators and carnivores and would not produce Bezoars realistically speaking (I understand these are magical creatures and most anything is possible).
That being said, if there were a Bezoar that could magically interact with Death and produce and item that could even put a halt to Death, I believe it would have to come from a Unicorn, and in the Act of procuring the Bezoar, thus killing the Unicorn, it could produce a type of Bezoar that would be extremely rare and very magical in abilities. Upon the death of a fiance, I am sure the 2nd Brother would go to any length, even sacrificing something as beautiful and amazing as a Unicorn that would then only provide something so horrid that it drove him to his own peril.

Dear SuperCarlinBorthers , I have a question that goes with this video. If Dumbledore was obsessed with the deathly hallows and wanted to use them to rise to power, is it possible that he made his own hallows? He has made the dilluminator, and one of you theories suggests he made moody’s eye too. If he made hallows that mimic or are similar to the original three what do you think the third is? My personal theory is the mirror of airised if the second brother didn’t make it. Please look into this because I have had this idea since through the griffindoor has come out!

In the "15 Questions We Both Missed" (or more precisely, "14 HP Questions + 'How Many Potential Questions Could Have Been Here'") quiz, one of the questions was effectively "how did Lily/Hermione get her Hogwarts letter." The answer was "[it would be] hand-delivered by a staff member," but in each case, which member seems the most likely to do this? And (and this isn't part of the JvB) here's my question: how would the family be able to get to the Cauldron and/or Diagon Alley? Would the letter to the family have, say, the *adjacent* buildings to the Cauldron? What would these letters have that Harry's didn't? If the literal "magic gene" was indeed genetic, (for example, Harry/Neville) then I guess the children would notice, hence why it probably wouldn't be in the letter. Of course in the case of Harry specifically, he's been separated from the Wizarding World for... 9 3/4 years (look at that- it's the platform number!) so it takes Hagrid for Harry to notice the Cauldron.

On Harry's invisibility cloak being different from normal ones: another thing to point out is that at one point someone (I can't remember for sure but I think it was Snape) tried to use Accio on the cloak when Harry was wearing it and it did nothing.

  • @shadowarchivist2382
    @shadowarchivist2382 Před 29 dny

The cloak could be crafted from a blend of both thestral and demiguise hair. This could make the cloak grant invisibility, as with standard demiguise cloaks, but the addition of the thestral hair could act to augment the properties of the cloak by making the demiguise hair more resilient. There may even be a bit of unicorn hair for good measure to add resistance to spells as Harry's cloak cannot be summoned while in use and seems to render detection spells ineffective.

    Building on this theory-
Middle brothers bride was murdered in front of brothers (hence they witnessed death, could see thestrals). Once they saw thestral, they were amazed, decided to check their magical properties and created hallows (thestral objects and their magic abilities). Oldest brother, regretting of not able to protect his family, seeked revenge to person who killed his brothers bride. and that story follows as is..
Middle brother followed story as is.
Youngest - was traumatised and wanted to hide from murderer who killed middle brothers bride.
Also - i would swap beezor for thestral eye. see death and stuff.

⚠️Off topic from video, day twenty of asking for what ifs⚠️
1: What if Dudley went to Hogwarts? I think he'd be a Hufflepuff and be pretty good at defense against the dark arts and I think it would be fun to have him be good at divination cause none of the golden trio are good at or even seem to respect it.
2: What if Aang died with the other Air nomads and one of the other main characters eventually became the Avatar? I think the most interesting would be Sokka and Zuko.
3: What if Prim became the Mockingjay? The only way I see this happening is if Katniss gets caught hunting and either gets killed or sent to the Capital and becomes an avox, a year or two before Prims game so she gets some survival skills not as good as Katniss but better than nothing.
4: So this one is kinda out there maybe it would be fun to do as a April fools thing or something I don't know but here we go... What if you guys made a Harry Potter crossover? Only crossovers with stuff that could feasibly exist in the Harry Potter world, the first ones that pop into my mind is Percy Jackson, Buffy the vampire slayer, BBC's Merlin maybe Supernatural the last one I'm less sure but you get the point like I said this last suggestion is very out there and I don't expect it to go anywhere.
5: There's a lot of fanfic out there where Harry is raised by someone who are not the Dursley's I definitely think you guys should do a full what if for that concept I find the most interesting being Harry is raised by Snape.
6: Here's a what if that could potentially keep Yue alive but also have her more involved in the story and I think be a pretty interesting story to follow, what before Zuko got banished the fire lord and Yue's father had arranged marriage planned for the two? The water tribe agrees out of a desperation to not get attacked the fire nation is doing it to have control over the water tribe the idea is that the two are essentially already married but haven't had the ceremony yet but this means when Zuko gets banished Yue gets banished with him she can't even go to her tribe cause the fire nation could use it as an excuse to attack.

I believe the resurrection stone is made from twin cores both placed slightly off center in the bezor of a thestral. When you turn the stone in your hand the cores twist together until they produce the prioriy incontatem effect which is contained by the "stone" allowing it to safely create the "light of the dead" but as it is contained within a thestral bezor the projection is more misty and cloaked as if hidden by a vail, a shade.

Unrelated, but the clip of Aragog struck me just now... The fact that his body is where he is when Harry and Professor Slughorn find him means that just before he died he used the last of his will to come visit Hagrid. That's kind of heartbreaking.
There are two other possibilities: Hagrid knew that Aragog had died or was dying and waded into his hollow to bring his body out for some reason, or that Aragog's children brought his body to Hagrid. I feel that either of these is unlikely.

I'm always torn on whether or not the cloak is made from the hair of the Thestrals or the hide. On the one hand the fluid like description lends itself to being hair but the soft supple description reminds me of old leather. The cloak being the only thing that requires the Thestral to die would also lend itself to being the only thing that was Deaths in the story as opposed to the wand and stone that were picked from the surroundings.
