By leaning into early 2000s nostalgia and then blending it with a stylish vision of the future, Zenless Zone Zero crafts an inimitable world that’s easy to get invested in. Exploring New Eridu and getting to know this charming cast both in and out of combat was a thrilling ride I was keen to keep at for hours on end. It’s not necessarily as deep as many of its gameplay inspirations, and momentum-killing hacking puzzles can sometimes sour the mood - but with exhilarating, approachable combat and many extracurricular activities to take care of, it was always easy to turn a corner and get swept up in the captivating culture nonetheless.

At least it's obvious Hoyo puts the billions of dollars they make back into their games. The gacha model is a bit slimy but damn is the game polished.
hoyo is a textbook example how they DON'T put back the billions of dollars they get from whales.
like they don't even translate the dialouges right. You get like one animated scene every uptade and quests are as boring as one could even do it. On top of that they just release unfiníshed and unbalanced characters with animation that is worse then the trailer. They don't even bother at this point since people will spend money on it regardless.
@alkair422 If you'd earn a million dollars by selling overpriced paintings to whales, you wouldn't put that million back into creating more paintings.

The story combat is easy but the endgame requires strategy, but you can definitely finish the endgame while being f2p

Great review. Loving Zenless Zone Zero.. Enjoying the combat and animation for mobile game is peak. Plus the gameplay is so buttery smooth. Plus its cross play for mobile, tablet ps5 and Pc. Cant wait for more patches to come.

Hoyo could have gone the lazy route and milked players for more money, but they decided to make yet another game that pushes the gacha genre foward in a positive way while respecting the player's time and money. The overall vibe of the game is top notch for 90's kids.
Their lazy route is Genshin, look how many times they can get away with their decision there 😂. Not surprised the Genshin fan base is so toxic when the devs ignored them for so long

Their gacha rates are literally the worst in the gacha space, the weapon banner is the biggest money scam in the entire gaming industry and they set the 90 pulls standard which is an insane number for characters that are as complex as a puddle when compared to literally any actual game out there.
@@markedone494 Stop spreading misinfo. It's practically impossible to actually hit 90 pulls, just based on probability alone. Average rate is 70 and they give 70-90 free pulls per patch. Do the math.

Yeah, the math is horrible, 160 currency per wish, 80 pulls for a 50% gamble, its insane, what other game has characters to unlock that either cost a month to farm or you have to gamble over 160 times to guarantee them?
And lets talk about the weapon banner, the banner that let a person spend 2000 dollars before finally getting the weapon? That weapon banner? All while the company keeps adding every possible feature to keep you addicted, hooked and online daily. There is no bigger scam in gaming than hoyoverse.

That’s cuz the first descendants has terrible optimization, the drops rates are terrible and a bunch of other things. Zenless zero doesn’t even have those flaws, it’s kinda easy but it’s an interesting combat system

@@allhailzamasu69 problem with "beating it" is that this is a game that will receive constant monthly updates so you can't really beat the game. Just like how genshins story isn't finished yet so idk how you wanna play the game
and when you're in an anger mood, this game can really help you to release some steam.
Dont play this on mobile unless u litteraly have a phone that came out this year it suffers from crashing and is unplayable to most of the mobile player base
Playing on a 2 year old phone and a 4 year old tablet. 🤷♂️
Same experience for me. It crashed 7 times so far. The screen flickers. Sometimes the screen remains static but the game is running in the background. Also, the file size is absurd for an instance/arena based game like this.

Given how badass the game looks and how the enemies look and feel the combat should really smack more but doesnt and this is one of those games where the enemies look cooler than the characters

if there is one gaming company that doesn't deserve your money. It is this one.....no company makes so many billions of dollars without even optimizing their own games. Like they legit release unfinished story quest and dialouges as well as unfinished characters, make millions of it and don't even fix it afterwards.

The game has a pacing issue. It's advertised as a combat focused game, yet you spend 70% of your time with TV puzzles and the rest for random slice of life stuff. Also, you can't even admire the characters you buy outside of combat.
You can. You have the ability to unlock their avatar to walk around in the city with.
Exactly, if they changed the TV puzzles so that your characters were actually moving around the hollow and solving the puzzles themselves it would be so much better, and the transition into combat would be much smoother instead of it being an animation and a loading screen every time. It would also make the storytelling much more immersive because currently it feels like we're watching the story through a powerpoint.

if you take more damage the game is harder, its not rocket science
@@kskr8610 Yea but the thing is when they have such a small moveset you won't even take damage, they could make it harder by increasing the frequency of attacks or giving them new moves but they don't
This game is meticulously crafted to trick you into spending. The only way to stop yourself from doing so is if you don't have money in your pocket, but you end up wasting time doing boring, repetitive tasks every day anyway.

It feels that way at first but later on dodges and counters become really important and you slowly learn the intecracies of each character in the game in my opinion
