LOVED watching this guy skate. He absolutely flew and was a joy to the eyes. He could defend, score, pass, hit, kill, quarterback, and he probably could play goal if asked. Whereas Bure was an electrifying skater, Fedorov was the most complete player I’ve ever seen.

Many Red Wings fans resent Fedorov after he left the team after 13 seasons at the age of 33!
But his results in recent years in the Red Wings were not so outstanding. He is one of the most gifted players in hockey and I think that even with all the achievements that he has, he has not fully realized his potential.
Sergei moved to another team in search of his best game. Unfortunately, this did not happen with other teams. Just a reminder that he fled the country to play hockey, to play at the highest level.

    Do your research
He didn’t sign for less then what wings offered .. redwings had offered 5 yrs 50 mill but fedorov declined cause he needed a new agent (his former agent ripped him off for 60 mill) then they offered 4 yrs 40 mill and feds was set to sign but then wings gave Hatcher a massive contract and reduced feds contract to 4 yrs 32 mill
So that’s why Sergei left the wings

As a lifelong Wings fan it's absurd that #91 isn't hanging from the rafters. It'll be the biggest insult to not only Fedorov, but all of us fans if his number doesn't get retired.
It's ridiculous that he was on a line with Bure & Mogilny 😅. 3 future NHL all-stars on 1 line.

In todays hockey word he is not talked about nearly enough. His first 10 seasons he could have won an art Ross or Selke every year. The only reason he did not is because when your so good at both offensive and defensive you usually don’t lead in either. If he decided to focus on year on one or the other it would be lights out. He played center, wing, and actually lots of defense. He played 5v5, PK, PP, in need of a goal, protect the lead. Plus he played on the wings one of the greatest teams ever so easy to overlook him, put him on Buffalo or something you would see just how talented he was. Find interviews those who played with him; he is if not number 1; in the top 5 best two way forwards in history.
