My mouth dropped to the floor when Raymond scored his 2nd goal. I thought we were done. Raymond has proven he can be a future superstar
He's been pretty consistent lighting the lamp this year.
I along with a guy sitting next to me at the game thought the same.
@@sirchromiumdowns2015 He's on a streak. I wouldn't say he's been consistent all season. He's had some pretty bad slumps. Still a good player with lots of potential though.

I was at this game!! I was foam puck hat guy on the jumbotron from the first period lol. Everybody was on their way out as the LCA crew were passing out t-shirts during the final commercial break, and half the crowd had their backs turned when the wings tied the game! It was a slow start once again, unfortunately, but they turned it up in the second and the third. I also feel like they overcame some interesting referee decisions throughout, but Raymond leads this team through adversity and Showtime puts on a classic snipe for the W!!! LGRW!!
Lucas Raymond has been the MVP for this team imo. The kid plays with so much effort and I really think other players feed off him.

Legit question because I know the rules are complicated. If Edvinsson stays up to game 82 but the Wings miss the playoffs, will he still be eligible for the AHL playoffs?
@@danielhundley9348Yes. Players had to be on an AHL roster as of the 3 p.m TDL e.i Edvinsson & *Burger. To be eligible for NHL teams to send them back down at any point during the rest of the season and playoffs. For *Burger, the question is if he achieve the number of games he plays in the NHL (4 max) in order NOT to have to go via waivers during his ECL, which he will achieve. S.Y has said that he personally doesn't think Burger will clear waivers, if RW send him down without having reached the maximum number of games in the NHL..
They won’t waste a year of his at this point for 10 games. If they did, I’d be even more upset he wasn’t on the team since game 1.
@@TheVlad1616they may keep him up if the playoffs are locked. He is better than Petry, ghost, maata and chairot. Lol but yeah if playoffs are out of the picture they’ll send him back down
Larkin being out has been a disaster, but it's also given Raymond a chance to step up and show his superstar potential. If we make the playoffs AND Lucas gets this massive confidence boost, then this is actually a decent scenario for the Wings. Now if we can only get Debrincat to put some pucks in the net because he's not fantastic at much else.
I was thinking about this yesterday. If they could learn to win without Larkin just wait until he comes back! (they are 4-10-0 with Larkin out this year)

That 1st period was abysmal but a fun game to watch from there out, can't believe they turned such a nightmare into a win. Ed looks like he belongs in the NHL. Raymond just took over, really great to see him step up. Future Captain material. Thanks awood it means a lot being able to rely on your excellent recaps.
Very frustrated with the dump and chase fiasco. Every offensive opportunity came from carrying the puck in and not chasing after it.
That’s been our philosophy. Give the other team the puck and let them pepper us with shots.

I live in Cleveland so I unfortunately wasn't able to get the Detroit feed, but I don't know if any Detroit fans know, Gaudreau got a game misconduct after the game had ended in OT. Screaming @ the officials calling them morons and fucking stupid idiots (valid), slamming his stick on the boards, etc etc. Was salty about the missed hook in OT it was WILD to see him going ballistic like that. That's the main reason Columbus stuck around on the bench is they were all just kind of watching him freak out like that
What a whiner. We had plenty of missed calls go against us.

5 to 20 shots in the first period. What's going on? Do they take Valium? And why can they be pushed around in their own arena? We need a McCarty again.
At 5:10. Can anyone tell me what Veleno is doing? He is not even looking for the puck and his first reaction is just to swing at the puck in the complete opposite direction of the goal. Doesn't even have his head down, looking for the puck to dig it for an easy goal, just slapping away. That's why this guy wont get resigned and can go play in the SEL or KHL.
He thought he was stomping on a CBJ leg.
It’s amazing because at times, he shows signs of a real player and then other times, he looks like they just needed to fill a spot.
he's still young and showing constant improvement. keep him around. plus the play you mentioned resulted in a goal so i'm not sure why you chose that as a reference.
The more I watch from this game...first I thought we sucked and got out played...these highlights make it seem like we just couldn't get it across the goal line and we had way more chances and no luck. Thoughts?

We played low level through a portion of this game for sure that doesn’t show on this video because it’s a highlight reel, not a lowlight reel. We need to tighten up still but the boys pulled it together in the right moments so we get this video.

God the wings, especially in the first period, just seemed slow. A real lack of hustle and drive. Idk if its fatigue or injuries or motivation but this team doesn't seem the same as it was a month ago

NHL refs... Terrible. Not saying that they aren't equally bad for all teams, but some of those weak calls and obvious non-calls are really questionable.
They’ve got us a few games in the bad streak. It was NFL type bad refereeing.

Why is copp still here? Aside from defense he brings nothing. He should be 4th line center and penalty kill and that’s it. He is brutal on the offensive side.

As a wings fan it's crazy to see us go from that to this past 10 games , ever since Larkin got injured it started. I think him missing just threw off the whole dynamic of the team and how they are used to playing

So sloppy with it up high in their zone. Seems like they've lost their belief in the ability in the forwards to grind it out down low in the zone. Pushing to hard in transition instead of setting up.
I turned it off at 3-2. This team is just playing like crap. That first period was just a total joke. I liked that they finally pulled their heads out of their asses in the 2nd but then at 3-2 with how mentally fragile this team appears to be, it seemed over and I didn't want to go to bed pissed. But...CBJ is a POS team. You can't let them push you around like that in the first period. Is this team missing their pregame naps or what? They are never ready to play on time. They got lucky that the refs didn't call Mo for a pick on Johnny Hockey on OT goal too.
Also this is the first time since his rookie year that Raymond seems dangerous almost every time on the ice.

No idea what Ghostybere (cant spell him name) was thinking. He knows the PP is almost over (I think you can tell by that weird slapping noise of the goalies stick and the time on the clock), the puck is deep and Columbus is getting possession. Why he wasn't on the penalty box side of the ice and deeper is beyond me.
Wings are really buying a goalie away from potentially winning a cup. Yzerman should know we can’t groom goalies we needed Vernon and Hasek to put us over top.
