  • Oh I got to do bike stuff INDOORS! I must be doing something right to be allowed such a privilege ha ha.
    But I finally got around to replacing the cylinder base gasket and head gasket on the Venom
    Such a simple little engine to work on and this one looks so clean inside.
    Just hope I got the timing right and it's nice and sealed up otherwise it's all coming back out again!
    Also go here's a link to Project Clarke.

    Good video mate, how do you know all the torque specifications for the bolts? I cant find them anywhere. Do you have a sheet with them on? I would like to know because i am going to be changing the head gasket on mine. Thanks

      Pretty much guessed. I cross referenced a few other Chinese 125 bikes. Cg125 and suzuki engines and found something I was happy with.

    Hi, Im doing mine at the moment and know how to do it etc : but im debating on weva to put a gasket sealant onto the gaskets aswell?? Do you suggest that? I noticed you didnt, But upon striping and cleaning you can see from factory they applied a clear sealint to the top and bottom on both gaskets.

    • @LowtherSport
      @LowtherSport  Před 9 měsíci

      Yes it would be fine to put a smear of sealer on there. Very thin mind you as you wouldn't want to upset the compression ratio by making the cylinder taller than the piston can reach

  • @lukaskaminek5709
    @lukaskaminek5709 Před 2 lety

    Is it necessery to change gasket under the piston too, like you did in the video?

    • @LowtherSport
      @LowtherSport  Před 2 lety

      Yes, otherwise you'll get an oil leak from the timing chain.

    Very great your video helped a lot in a lot, now I would like to ask for help .... where can I find these genuine parts for this bike? I have the Viper 2019 and would like to buy the gaskets to fix the leak and replace it.Thank you so much, I'm already subscribed to your channel.

      Chinese Motorcycle Parts Online is the best place to go. Just Google CMPO

    Hello excuse me but I am in France.
    I'm redoing the same engine and like you in the video I have a seal but I don't know where it goes up like the one you have in your hands in the video.
    can you answer me ?
    THANK YOU.

    Was there only 3 dowels on the head studs? Doing mine at the min can only find 3

    • @LowtherSport
      @LowtherSport  Před 10 měsíci +1

      Pretty sure. But it's been a while. Just look at the holes in the head and cylinder. If there's 3 bigger ones and one small one then it's only 3. If I remember correctly one massive hole for an o-ring

    What did you set the timing too and what marks did you use

    • @LowtherSport
      @LowtherSport  Před rokem

      You need the T on the flywheel to be in the inspection window. And the line on the camshaft pulley to be level with the head

      @@LowtherSport what about cam lobs or does that matter ?

    • @LowtherSport
      @LowtherSport  Před rokem

      The cam sprocket should only fit on the cam in one position. And the line should only line up with the head in one position, with the extra hole pointing straight up.

      @@andyclasby6387 then it should just be a case of the line is only viable when it's lined up with the head then. If it was 180 degrees out it would be below the head

    How do u know the timing marks

    • @LowtherSport
      @LowtherSport  Před rokem

      At 1:30 you can see the inspection hole for the top dead centre marker. And the cam has a line across the sprocket that should line up with the head

  • @thesecretworkshoppropstore7914

    I would love to see the original unedited. So hard to follow at that speed, I really need to hear and see what your doing so I can do my fix. I have to replace my cylinder head and this video would have been perfect.

    • @LowtherSport

      Thanks for watching. But I never really intended to make it as an instructional video. Because I make a lot of errors 😂 so I just make more of a "look what I did" video instead of a "look how it's done" video

      @@LowtherSport Don't put your your work down bro, you succeeded and the engine runs. also don't underestimate the fact that CZcams linked your video at the top of my search, That alone is a goal that countless people would dream of, so your winning on both counts bud.
