Last few remaining jobs on Mavis to get her road ready. Really looking forward to getting her out on the road again. As much fun as my 750 Hornet is. Power isn't everything!

After a few bits I did on Mavis today I saw the chain was dangerously loose. So I nipped it up. You only need a handful of tools. I must say, I'm not 100% sure on the rear axle torque settings. But it seems right!

Today I've upgraded to to very cheap universal levers, swapped the light switch, indicator and centre stand. Also fitted brand new mirrors! Tip, don't buy these levers from ebay... They fall apart!

Finally got Mavis back home and into the new workshop... List of jobs to get her back up to spec....

Finally got around to replacing the fork seals on Mavis. The left one has been leaking for a long time and knowing forks are normally complex I left it leaking! Well as I found out they're very easy on this Chinese bike. No seal driver required! In total it took me around an hour to do. Tools used: 6mm allen key 10mm socket 12mm socket 13mm socket 17mm socket 1¼" socket (to drive the seal in) 1...

Finally got around to fitting a tail tidy using some birthday money I had. I'm really pleased with how this one fits, almost exactly, in the origional cutout in the undertray. Took a little trimming of the plastic but it looks absolutely fantastic. I got mine from here: amzn.to/3LL2h06

Today is the day for Mavis' MOT. My usual MOT tester had a lovely chat about how I had a nasty crash on the return home from last year's test, and the clocks not surviving the winter months, so the new clocks are only showing 4 miles LOL... Had a mare of a day here! Started by fitting my new headlight fairing. Changed the oil. Fitted a new alarm. Fitted some new rear pads and investigated a stuck rear brake that turned into an hour of stripping down the master servo and bleeding the brake...
