  • Thinking about living in Dacula, Georgia? Dacula is an established town on the east side of Gwinnett County. The lower cost of homes, plentiful parks, and overall location are huge reasons why people love living here, but the distance to Lake Lanier is a drawback for some.

It's so funny that you say that there are not a lot of grocery options because my brother lives in Dacula, and I (and my hubby) are currently planning on moving to GA. and we've visited my brother numerous times and now there is a Publix in addition to the Krogers he lives near, AND an Ingles not far away. It's all growing so quickly. We're looking at Winder because it's more affordable than Lawrenceville and Dacula, both of which are more built up than Winder, from what I gather. Thankfully, there's a Krogers, Publix, Walmart AND Aldi in Winder.

@@MovingtoGeorgia I honestly worry about the crime rates in Winder, Jefferson and Statham, however. None of them are good, from what I've read online. Where I live now, it's so safe, people regularly leave carriages full of groceries outside other stores in our Publix shopping center and no one ever touches the groceries. It's THAT safe here. I would LOVE to find some place like that in GA without having to take out a massive mortgage.

This is my kind of places to relocate due to coming from the city life my concerns would be getting to shopping and grocery stores and the necessary essential things but other than that I will be willing to travel or commute to get to wherever the stores I like are at and nice dining and entertainment

There are plenty of grocery stores. You’ll be a 5-10 minute drive from most. And of course everyone’s definition of shopping is different but make no mistake you’ll have plenty of options!

I don’t live in dacula, but I have been there for weekend festivals many times and they have just as many amenities as any other part of METRO Atlanta. I suggest you travel and stay a weekend anywhere before moving there. They also have this really good restaurants that serves family meals that my son still talks about. We went there like 5 years ago.
