- Kolkata, often referred to as the "City of Joy," is a vibrant and culturally rich metropolis in eastern India. This unique city has been one of the most incredible and vibrant cities I have visited this year.
The city has a fascinating blend of history and modernity. It was the capital of British India until 1911, and remnants of its colonial past are still visible in its architecture. The city's colonial history, vibrant colors, yellow taxis, chaotic bazaars, and hospitality of Kolkata people make it a city that leaves a lasting impression on anyone who visits.
Was it really "City of Joy"? Absolutely. My videos will show even better images than I can describe😍🇮🇳

The little girl in the beginning of the video melted my heart. When the vendor offered her the food, she didn't eat and asked him to pack it saying "Maa khayega" meaning "Mom will eat".
That is simply great. Humanity

Kolkata is the only city in India with all modes of transportation starting from the bus , local, auto rickshaw, metro, trams to taxis.
Except trams, everything you mentioned else are common modes of transport in Chennai too

Brother just another tip I think those vendors or wateva else you finding out if they dont greet you with a mutual smile and a warm greet like you have just leave them and dont repeat urself cause they bad at heart ..I'm Indian I sence their expressions and body language 😢😢😢and you feeling it now or sencing it too cos u can also feel their real nature and heart beat...God is Blessing you with more discernment of the heart too...❤❤❤❤

Hi Davud if you are in Kolkata , please visit the eco-park and 7 Wonders of world(Near Eco Park Gate 4). You will like it. You can also visit tram museum in Esplanade and Victoria memorial near esplanade (can take a bus or metro) , it is open every day and enjoy the english version of laser show on wednesday 6:30 pm at the east gate of victoria.

Most of these street vendors are either from the suburbs of Kolkata and the villages of Bengal or migrated from Bihar. So their ability to understand English is limited. They are very helpful if they are communicated in the local language (Bengali in the case of Bengal) or hindi. Otherwise general public is quite comfortable communicating in English.
You are roaming around mostly in the busy market areas, so you are facing this language problem. If you go to any residential location in any part of Kolkata you will be surprised by seeing the intelligence of local Bengali people. Average Bengali people are educated, intelligent, and helpful in nature.
And also I request from my side, that most Indians have moral values and they don't like it if any unknown person tries to give them money. They think that someone is mocking their financial status. Yes, the street vendors or the restaurant waiters will definitely be happy for extra pay but it looks very disrespectful if you treat the same way a Bus Conductor or Metro counter lady. They are government officials and have self-respect. Tips is not a common culture in India. So please help those people only who are in real need.

The Kolkata metro system is one of the oldest metro systems which is the cheapest as well. It was built most probably in the 80's.

You should visit park Street it's very near. You will find many shops selling omlette.
the place Lenin Sarani is one of the busiest regions of central kolkata, as the time goes and hits 10am, if you closely observe the region from 8am to 10am you will feel the rush and the busyness unfolding like a blooming flower.
