What I dislike about the IdeaPad series is the fact that the screen hinges often fall off after 3-4 years of use. It can be fixed but shouldn't happen in the first place.

@@harigovindsrfortechnology We had hundreds in the workshop... on Friday even a rather new Ryzen model.
Legit 90% of the hinge related repairs in the last years are Lenovo Ideapad.

Hey Andrew, thanks for reviewing this one, and thanks for all your reviews - very well put together. I have this laptop the Lenovo IdeaPad pro 5i from Costco with Intel Ultra 9 32GB RAM, 1TB HDD, AND then I bought the Lenovo Pro 9i with SAME SPECS and just because the 9i had a power button on side that I thought I could use while lid was closed and connected to docking station, but it didn't work... So, I have to return one of them - but which one? I actually think the IdeaPad seems faster to me in normal use... What do you think?
Any thoughts on / experience with the 14" Ideapad 5 Pro gen 9?
Good review! Just bought this on sale at costco but still looking at the LG gram. Very similar but lighter, debating to keep or switch b4 the 90 day return window lol
Great review. I'm looking for a laptop for mainly photo editing but for playing the odd game and was looking at this but in the Ultra 7. my question is is it worth paying £120 more for the ultra 9? the graphic card we get in the UK is Integrated Intel® Iris® Xe Graphics, the RAM is 32 GB LPDDR5 (7467 MHz). I'm just not sure whether it's worth paying to upgrade and also if I need it? Thanks

it would be highly helpful to me if you tell whether the apps support arm architecture and did you face any software incompatibility while using this laptop also tell whether virtualisation with linux is possible and can linux be runned bare metal,

Thanks for the review. I have been in the market for a new laptop and I have been watching many of your videos. I looked at this laptop at Costco ($1299) but decided to get the Pro 9i 14.5". I liked the size and portability (not a fan of numberpad) , speakers, mini led display, charger and comparable specs to this.
Hey Andrew great review. Can you compare Lenovo ideapad pro 5 intel evo core ultra 9 185H vs Lenovo yoga slim 7 intel core ultra 7 155H. I’m confused what to buy for a 3-4 years use. Needed a durable one for a long usage.
If you had to pick between this or a dell inspiron 16 plus 7630 (i7 13620H, RTX4060, and 32gb ram) for $1200, which would you recommend? Looking to use it for engineering grad school and having a really hard time making up my mind 😅

Just bought it on sale at Costco for 1,299! So excited about it! I decided on it over any other LG, HP, Dell, or Asus because of the bang for your buck!
I had 2 lenovo's. Only a lot of problems and very bad customer support. Both they didn't last more than 2 years. 2023 my company prohibited use of lenovo due to the scandals of the backdoors of the Chinese government.

Thanks for the review but i'm not interested in any Intel based laptop until i see Snapdragon reviews.
Nice pc. Camera looked good. Display is good. Keyboard layout is good with a properly laid out numpad, although the smaller numpad keys might be an issue for some users. Potential purchasers might want to watch the Costco prices as Costco frequently puts their laptops on sale and one could potentially save an additional several hundred dollars off. Great review.

This was exactly the comparison i was looking for. I was considering the Costco offering. But the comment about the screen hinges failing and your sound comparison have me leaning towards the Yoga. Lenova should know better than to skimp on those things. Is the Yoga generally sturdier than the Ideabook?

I must say that this is another winner of a laptop from Lenovo. For it's price point when maxed out at 32GB of fast RAM, it delivers quite a lot for your money! Love the gorgeous and bright OLED Touch display, clear webcam and internal mics, decent sound for a Windows laptop from the internal speakers and decent battery life. A comparable laptop from Dell would probably cost over $2000 so to get all this for $1500 is a steal!! Excellent review once again Andrew!! 👏😁
