Why did the player in the cutoff receive the extra $5 when they split the pot. Maybe it’s a house rule but I know for a fact it’s supposed to go to the player in the worst/earliest position.
At my home game we give the extra small chip when we split the pot to the last aggressor. The cut-off shipped it so perhaps they operate the same way.
