  • In this video I'll explain how to disassemble a PS5 controller and replace the joystick sensors (potentiometers), and then recalibrate the controller for full range of motion.
    If your controller is suffering from stick drift this will fix the problem and get you back to gaming.

    I recently changed both of the joystick modules on two controllers and didn’t know of the calibration website. Thank you!

    You were clean, clear and concise along with quick on explaining what you were going to do. I don't even have a ps5 but I liked your tutorial. I've subscribed, keep this up! Subs will come!

    If you're gonna go through all this trouble. I can't believe you wouldn't put a hall effect gimble in. That way you don't have to worry about doing this again on the same controller.

      @@agtjackbauer That's something for another video. This video is just to show how to replace the sensor

    the red wire of right haptic motor should be soldered onto the bottom point. 😂 left one is good

      don't know if it will work as normal connecting the wires like u show in the video. just let me know

      Damn it, cut it cut it cut it cut it 😂 Thankfully it's just a motor so it shouldn't make too much difference. The motor will spin the other way but will still vibrate the same

    For some reason the ginfull stick I replaced is pointing left upwards all the time. Is this due to the pins not soldered correctly?

    • @ryansrepairslk
      @ryansrepairslk  Před 22 dny +1

      @@Jestar_076 Yes I believe when no joystick is connected the controller reads the stick in the top left corner so probably something isn't connected correctly

      @@ryansrepairslk seems about right, I snipped the other stick potentiometers and gives the same reading. Before I tried resoldering it did move to top left and right. So I'll check my soldering. Thanks!

    is there a calibration website for xbox controllers?

    • @ryansrepairslk
      @ryansrepairslk  Před měsícem

      @@pexz Unfortunately not. You can use a windows app for it or the built in calibration feature on the Xbox itself to recalibrate the center points and range.

    Question, so I’m able to use a ps4 potentiometer on ps5 controller?

    • @ryansrepairslk

      It seemed to work for me yes. But you'll have to calibrate them using the website I linked to in the description

      If you're reusing a factor sensor it's possible you won't need to recalibrate it, but it's just something I always do when replacing sensors
