  • @samcurmudgeon
    @samcurmudgeon Před rokem +1

    Clarification: you don't void the warranty of Fold 3 or 4 by removing the inner display screen protector. The inner screen protector wears out and starts separating along the crease after five to seven months of use. The first time this happens, in your warranty., Samsung will replace the screen protector for free. After that you can take the phone to a authorized Samsung repair partner, like uBreakiFix, and have the protector replaced for $35 to as much as $50 depending on the shop. And plenty of owners have reported no issues after more than a year of using the phone without an inner display protector. Using a third party protector like this, Whitestone, or Supershieldz is an alternative if you are competent with installing a protector on a folding screen (which is more fiddly than a normal candy bar screen phone). And if you are going the third party protector route this is otherwise a good video for how to apply it (also check your selected screen protectors instructions carefully if the protector needs the phone to stay unfolded for a certain length of time after installation).

    • @JAY___M
      @JAY___M Před 2 lety

      I get liking the feel of the glass ones, but obviously glass isn't bendable. I just got my phone back from Samsung who replaced the inside screen (free) because it cracked down the middle after only 11 months of use.
      That said, the inside screen is protected pretty well because it, you know, folds...so the screen protector for the inside is more for your fingernails damaging that soft foldable screen in my experience.
      What I've found MORE important is that most FRONT screen protectors didn't go over the corners of my front, and after 2 drops without that, the glass screen in the front broke.
      This would be fine if you have a bulky case in on the front, but I only have the back because it was getting too bulky and I *Thought* my screen protector in the front covered the corners more than it actually did

    The protector was full of bubbles, terrible job. This is likely from not cleaning the screen enough.

      If you damage the factory screen protector you may need to install one like this, which is what I said at the start of the video. I actually discouraged viewers from replacing the factory protector. Did you watch the video or just click it and immediately coment to be hateful?
