The song Indonesia Raya was created by Wage Rudolf Supratman (born 1903) when Indonesia was still colonized by the Dutch. This song was introduced to the public at the Indonesian Youth Congress which also gave birth to the Youth Pledge (1928). In the course of time this song became increasingly popular and became an encouragement for the Indonesian people to demand independence, this made the colonial government prohibit the song from being sung and the songwriter became a fugitive from the government.After some time being chased by the police, WR Supratman was finally arrested and imprisoned. Shortly after his release from jail he became ill and died (1938). After Indonesia achieved independence, Indonesia Raya was made the national anthem and WR Supratman was declared a national hero.

But one of the British General Mallaby's dead is still a great mystery, no one know who had killed him. Some historical evidence said that Mallaby was set to be died after world war II and it's happened in Surabaya, Indonesia.
This song was created when Indonesia was still fighting for independence from the Dutch and my ancestors were shot in a public place because he sang this song during the Dutch colonial period that's why my family always upholds the value of nationalism

The song was firstly played in 1928 during The Youth Pledge, 17 years before the proclamation of independence (1945). It was played by W.R. Soepratman, the composer of the song, by only using violin, then he made the lyrics.
