I picked this foxbody up in the dead of night, and turns out that is a bad idea! I found a lot more problems with the car than I expected. after addressing all those issues, I picked up some race car parts for the car and talk a little about the build plans for my competitive drift mustang

4.6 2v is the cheapest swap. I bought an 04 gt for 1200 bucks. The k member just bolts in. Plenty of power for these light cars.
Good to know! That would be the v6 out of the sn95 right?
@LooseFab the 4.6 2v is a v8. But you can also get the 6 cylinder which I have been told makes reasonable power reliably. A lot of drift guys use the 3.8 v6 and have no trouble. I honestly can't speak from experience with the 3.8 but the 4.6 was tough as nails and makes good power.

I know you wanna swap the 2.3 out, but I personally think it’d be cool to see one sliding around. Especially since I’ve know a few guys making over 300 stock motor in their Tbirds/svo’s.
ive been getting a lot of support for keeping/building the 2.3 and i gotta say, its not out of the question! i really had no idea there was so much aftermarket support for them. I just need to figure out how much it would realistically cost to build up a motor like this
V8 for sure id say, whether you go for the sn95 motor or even like an old school style 351 windsor or 350 sbc or 454 bbc.. not really a wrong answer in my opinion but definitely v8... mainly for the sound... but speaking on sound id suggest like a nascar style boomtube.. they sound killer on most anything v8

Believe it or not I'm still undecided! Been doing a lot of research on different engines for this car.. And I seem to change my mind every week lol
