Hyundai is leading the charge in taking the FWD crown from Honda. With Honda pulling out of Formula 1 and other motorsports, Hyundai is ramping up its touring car and rally efforts, while also investing millions into the new Hyundai N division. They sure could, especially with their new focus on wanting to be mentioned in the same sentence as the big 3. What else could be possible: Genesis' G vehicles getting more love fr the aftermarket tuners or creating a flagship coupe reminiscent of the NSX in its inception phase?

Before Hyundai can claim the Honda crown, there is one thing they have to do. They need to make truly special engines/powerplants. For instance, Honda is famous for their K series design, but Hyundai doesn't really have anything that hit that legendary status. Their designs look good, and they have come into their own and there are some special cars out there. This to me is the final step. And lately, Honda has stepped it up with the Type R.
On a side note, both companies need to go with dual injection technology. Carbon buildup is an issue. Catch cans and seafoam do not cut it.

Honda only started making boring cars because that's what the market wanted especially due to rising gas prices. But even their boring cars have the distinction of being highly customizable. You can turn virtually any Honda into a 300hp+ car. They're very easy to customize and the engines can handle it. Not many other engines can handle extra horsepower on top of stock horsepower.

I think if I had any say in what Hyundai should do, it would be to focus on designing a better DCT(or put the 8 speed wet dct in all cars) I feel like they already have a great manual transmission, but that DCT would dominate it if they get it right. Other than that, I am sad to see the VT2 to go away, by far one of the coolest cars to own for me. Literally to make that car fun, its only stiffer engine/trans mounts, sway bars/brace, grippy tires, and an intercooler resonator delete and BAM!!! you got yourself a good little hatch.

This video changed my mind about Hyundai, tbh I thought they were boring cars but now I see it and I think they are truly underrated. Great video❤️

They seem to be under the radar. They stole the WRC crown from Toyota, TWICE. I’m surprised they didn’t make an AWD Turbo i20 to compete with the GR Yaris, considering the i20 WRC beat the Yaris WRC, that would’ve been a huge marketing win for them, and we get another Turbo AWD Hot Hatch to play with.

@@devandrasimanjuntak1646 I bet that if they haven't made it yet they'll make it soon or they already have reasons to not do it

Maybe Honda is not what it was a few decades ago, but they are still one of the best automakers out there, along with Toyota, Mazda & Suzuki.

I give JD Power and Associates awards and their research findings as much weight and respect as a fart. They were once upon a time legitimate but those years are long long ago.

I know that Honda is the focus of this video, but Hyundai was so difficult to ignore, I just embrace them like my favourite toy cars, their progress is amazing and noticeable, I love every single N models from them, even their N Line models I also accepts them without demerits thinking!
