Brilliant documentary of possibly the greatest football story ever told. A bunch of urchins from the streets of one of the world's toughest cities brought together by a former miner and winning club football's biggest prize? So many heroes and heroic background stories. And the fans who made the final by hook or by crook - what an adventure in the days when foreign travel was still so exotic and rare.
I felt very melancholy after it finished. The world (and football) has moved on so much since 1967 but is everything better? People certainly aren't.

I agree - this was a unique time. There was a special Esprit de Corps with this team and Jock Stein. I wept all the way realising that that this a really happy time despite the reality of daily hardship that faced Glaswegians. There was such a can do attitude and community spirit tgat we'll never see again, but I'm proud and glad that I experienced it.

This was so brilliant to watch and so emotional as it reminds me of my late father Jim. I was 4 years of age in 1967 and my father was a Celtic fanatic. He loved that team and travelled often on the ferry from N.Ireland to Scotland to watch the matches at Parkhead. He died in 2005 and was still a Celtic supporter right to the very end of his life. He left me his Celtic Supporters Scarf which he bought in a shop in Glasgow in the Spring of 1966. It still looks great today as he took great care of it. Glasgow Celtic Football Club made my father a happy man when they won the European Cup.

The Lisbon lions were one of the great European teams, of any era because of the the quality of attacking football they played ,as a young English boy, we new they were a team who would have done pretty well, had they have played in England, but we had no idea they were as good as that, we're it not for the brilliance of the Italian keeper Sarti the would have won by six, they totally outclassed what was supposed to be another of the great European sides and tore the much vaunted Italian cattenacio defensive system to shreds, only the great early Real Madrid sides might have lived with them that night, it was a victory for beauty over the beast and heralded the beginning of total football, which was wrongly accredited to have been started by the wonderful Dutch teams of the seventies , Jock Stein and Glasgow Celtic got their first,, just look at the equalising goal, right back casually rolls the ball to left back who smashes the ball into the net, this was unheard of at the time.

Great documentary! In those days the team would have far healhtier food and real nutrition compared to the toxic crap called food now. The manager was a genius and instilled self belief and a cocky confidence in very talented players who grew and grew in confidence. This was THE GREATEST achivement in football history from any team ever given this one fact, they were all home grown talent from within 30 miles of Paradise!!! I was a young kid and even on the black and white TV is was immense beyond words. Our hoose jumped wi utter joy at the final goal and whistle - that was doon in Gallowa. Some brothers were Man Utd fans but I wsa not and my Irish uncle was ecstatic! Bringing Jock Stein back was a masterpiece chess move, helping to burst the sectarian bubble of sectarianism. Total legends. Bertie was so so special as a wit and singer. Their key to sucess was 10 players could score not just one or two! AMAZING TEAM never to be rivalled.
