- I’m back in the garage and making progress on my dream Mr2 project. The 2GRFE is in and running. The suspension is getting prepped. And the brakes are soon to follow. After 15 years of Mr2 ownership history and many years of planning my vision for a “dream build”, I’m excited to see this thing come together.

Dude. Awesome build it's basically where mines at except I still have the stock calipers and rotors, just braided lines and yellow stuffs. But the 2gr, geometry kit, poly suspension bushings, and I got fortune 500s on a few months ago, the list goes on, etc.
I hope to see something posted when you get it out on the road. You are going to love it.
Thanks. It’s been on the road for awhile. I went on a 700 mile round trip weekend to the Tail of the Dragon and have shared a few updates in the Mr2 groups. I just haven’t compiled an update.

It’s a standard 6k pound capacity scissor lift available from most distributors. Very handy for the Mr2 in particular. And nothing wrong with the gen4 3sgte (well maybe the weak rods if pursuing big power). It would be hard to justify replacing on a street car if ai had one already setup. That being said... the 2GR just feels right!
Ill buy the koni shock set up if you dont want them. I would love to include those in my build!
How are liking the lift? Looks like it would be handy for when my 5sgte is done.
Hey man would you be able to take time out of your day to give me a parts list and price of this build? Awesome. I really want to build this one day. Recently joined the military and am going overseas. Want to pick up a hobby and building a car seems like a GREAT one
I recommend the Frankenstein Motorworks 2GR swap series as the first resource. Nathan Thalhuber then did a good job on his parts list and overview. I may try to consolidate my purchases at some point, but spent more than the bare minimum required to complete the as I went for new OEM or equivalent gaskets, accessories, etc.
Love the engine swap but I have to ask what type of car lift is that? Do you need an air compressor to make it work?
It’s a hydraulic 6,000 capacity scissor lift. You can find them from nearly every lift distributor. It’s a great fit for the Mr2, unless you want to change the fuel pump. Don’t ask me how I know. 😐
if im looking for a 2gr to swap into my 91 NA manual what should i be looking for? is there a specific year and do i need the wiring harness from that vehicle the engine was in?

1000% get an accusump to protect your engine. alot of people trash thier engine from oil starvation. an oil accumulator will help
I appreciate the concern. Where are you seeing that? Alex Wilhelm’s 2GR Mr2 oil pressure analysis is one of the most thorough evaluations of this particular engine and the conclusion is far from needing considerably more oil or an Accusump. An extra half quart is seemingly the sweet spot when on track or driving aggressively. I also have his oil pan baffle as an extra precaution, but it’s not a necessity.
What ecu would I use for a 2014 2gr?
I’m just now seeing this. Frankenstein Motorworks is your solution. Since I started my project, the sienna wiring harness is now the go-to solution. Marc at Frankenstein still has the perfect tuned oem ecu solution.
