- Tom Sachs is one of the greatest artists today and a legendary Nike collaborator. I love that he circumvents the trends of sneaker collaborations being laboriously exclusive and unobtainable. Even if that is the case, his shoes sell out instantly. These GPS are a perfect expression of Tom and sneaker culture as we know it.

Really wonderful lighting and inviting set. Everything in your approach works well as a singular voice in a seemingly saturated space.
This episode/upload/vlog is especially intriguing, for me, because you cover subject matter that matters to me when choosing what wearable art I slip into and lace up… the why behind the existence of new product.
What makes this drop so very special is Tom Sachs put it all in the shoe. The box is cool… It’s the art critic spelling it out for the gallery patron. But that shoe is the story, and you do a fine job of making that clear.
Daniel Arsham had a similar approach with his adidas New York Past-Present-Future installations. The shoes truly are an extension of his sculpting approach including the boxes.
But I also dig what adidas does with the Consortium approach; one very quiet and typically eco-friendly box design which allows the shoe to be the star of the show.
Two more current examples are the EQT 30th Anniversary and the SL 50th Anniversary. The collaborators really dove into putting their souls in their soles.
Grace Wales Bonner is especially gifted in telling her ancestral history through clothing and footwear. The Caribbean Cool and English Exceptionalism are front and center. They are something to behold as human, especially Imperial, history via wearable art.
The Footpatrol x Saucony Jazz 81 “Heritage of Jazz” is another fine example of allowing the shoes to carry the story. The history of the Jazz ‘81’ and Rod Dixon vs adidas and Geoff Smith is in there. The subtle improvisation of the music is in there. The patchwork of time(s) is in there. The two firms left very subdued branding on it that further adds to the shoe itself telling the story. It’s really brave.

You’re supposed to be able to get these shoe resoled like a boot. Anvil Rose has a great video about them
Is it true the sizes mentioned for this shoes are in womens sizing? I orders a 8.5 (what i thought is 8.5 mens) from Laced UK - will i be getting a super small mens size??
I do know that both M and W sizing were visible when I ordered mine. It should tell you on the order which size you actually ordered.
Hi! Would you say these run TTS or half size Down would be a better fit ?
True to size but yes it has the a tiny bit of extra room but not enough to go half size down for me. I think it's based on how spot on TTS is for you!
@@minsoochoi Thanks. Well for cintext I wear US 10 in my NB 990V3, V4 and they are very comfy- no heel slippage and i tie my laces loose. with these i heard TTS causes heel slippage as the material is thinner etc. hence the confusion
