- The Haunted Mansion looms over New Orleans Square, Liberty Square, and Fantasyland and beckons wary guests to enter if they dare. Over the years, many of these same guests leave with questions. Who is the Ghost Host? Why is there a ghost bride in the attic? Who owns the building, the Mansion itself? Today, I aim to answer 1/3rd of those questions.

The first time I went to Disneyland I got tired of walking and my grandma offered to let me sit in her wheel chair while she walked around a bit. So im in the line for the Haunted Mansion chilling in the wheel chair near the back of the line, and suddenly employees come out of no where and push me to the front of the line (At this point they only told my mom to come with them) and a lady leans in and tells me Im gonna have to walk a little for this ride but I can get help if I really needed it. Suddenly 8 year old me realized these people thought I was handicap, I looked back at the line, took a deep breath and said “I think I can make it that far...” I REGRET NOTHING.
What are you talking about Eddy Murphy owns the mansion
It’s my favorite Disney attraction, too. I love this thing with an
I work at a Disney Store and we sell a “Ghost Host” shirt that has Mister Gracey’s picture on it. 🤔🤔
I was on Tom Swayer’s Island looking across at the Haunted Mansion(I was at WDW btw) and there were crows flying in circles above the Haunted Mansion, I craped myself...
Jean Lafitte count: 1
My fave thing about the haunted mansion is that you never seem to know enough. Like I was obsessed (equally with pirates but I now think I know everything about pirates). Haunted mension just keeps having history and myths and more developments etc. I have researched and obsessed with it since I was 12 I am now 26 and I’m still finding out more. It’s the only Disney ride with that kinda history. I feel there should be an hour or 2 long video with loads of myths, clips and different refurbishments of this ride. I can’t get enough and I long for a really in depth video of everything about this ride. I wanna see the kind of documentary that Walt made for for pirates but sadly it was never made for this amazing mysterious attraction! LOVE IT!
My theory is that the owner is Master Gracey, given the name of the mansion, Gracey Manor. I also believe that he is the ghost host, and his portrait is what we see before going into the stretching room.
Personally, because of the Haunted Mansion Holiday, I think the owner could be Jack Skellington. At least in Disney “Land”. I know he’s only in the mansion for the holiday, but it could just be a vacation home, since he lives in Halloween Town.
Full disclosure, I haven't even watched the video yet and I already decided it's
I like to think that the Ghost Host is a relative to Constance, possibly brother. My reason? The hatchet. I think he acted as sort of a Butler for the owner (most likely in an effort to get closer to him as an accomplice to his sister's...misdeeds.) and that's why HE'S the one showing you around.
I'm pretty sure it was Jean..oh somebody already made that joke
It's obvious the real owner is.... JEAN LAFITTE! Also, can you maybe cover Phantom Manor at some point? Out of all the mansions that one is my absolute favorite.
(sees it's a two parter) wow i didn't know you could get blue balled by a theory video.
What room does a ghost not need?
Thank you for producing so many videos to meet both my disney needs but also my need for stories that are a touch of horror. It is getting me through exams - seriously
Can't wait for the second part!
I always thought Master Gracey owned the mansion at the Magic Kingdom
the obvious owner of the haunted mansion is clearly.......
My favorite too, the Haunted Mansion! Another great video, Offhand Disney! Cheers, Davis.
