Axial SCX24 Surpass Motor Install How To

- This is my successful attempt at installing a surpass 2204 motor in the C10 SCX-24. I was tired of burning up the stock motor and wanted to try out brushless.
I try to show you all the parts you need in the video, all the other vids I found just showed the final product not actually doing the install.
Hope this helps others like me that are new to the hobby.

Awesome video, now furitek has a entire kit for their new brushless motor, motor plate, spur gear and pinion as a kit.
Thank you for confirming the 12t 48p pinion. Ive been running the 15t .5 mod temporarily in place of the recommended 11t .5 mod. They are fine with a 2" OD tire but i can hear it struggle on the steep and tough climbs. I literally purchased the 12t 48p in the middle of your video!

dont get a 48p, they are noisy af. I found this guy who sells gears but doesn't specify the pitch/mod. I got a 15t and it was way quieter then my 12t 48p. Nice job. I'm about to put one in my next Jeep build with the LIzard ESC as well. Looking at your install, I may have to ditch the stock ESC/Radio to save space and use a smaller radio and different transmitter. I'm really surprised it fit up front without interfering with the up travel of the top of the servo.
I still need to order the motor mount and ESC for mine...iv got the motor and I got the 15T pinion so I hope its not to high of a gear for it but I'm on my way to doing it too....GREAT JOB !!!!

I too have been looking for someone to show a video like this. Possibly with a bit more closeups and an attached list of parts used. Other than that.... Great job! If you can list your parts and or links to each for the upgrade I know we all would truly appreciate it. I have the same c10 and want to do the exact same thing. Thanks again.

I mounted my motor and transmission and I suppose the bottom skid plate backwards. Thought everything was working out pretty good till I got to the drive shafts and the pins they mount too being reversed messes up their lengths and messes up the suspension links and its all a mess. Sucks too because it would be sooooo perfect to mount the motor the other way and not have to cut the ESC tray (which I can't because mine is aluminum and where my shocks/body magnets mount and cost like $40). The mod life is the good life.
Is that physically bigger or smaller than a surpass C2830 2200kv?

Question, so the bullet connectors were different sizes? You had to solder the connection to the plug?
My stock scx24 C10 motor quit working after 16 battery charges in 32 days. I ran it once a day about every other day on Medium setting. Just ordered a new motor today. I'm removing the sticker on my next one.
Can I use a hobbywing 120A esc with that Surpass motor? Can I also use the Furitek motor mount for that Surpass motor?
Any problems with the receiver being upfront????
What pinion do you have on that? Where can I get one? Preferably Amazon. A link would be greatly appreciated.

What size screws did you use to mount the Surpass?
What did you use to adapt the three leads from the Surpass to the ESC? I just got my motor and it doesn't have any sort of adaptor included. (slowly but surely trying to get the conversion done on mine too)
The furitek esc comes with the banana plug adapter. So when you get your esc it'll have it in the box. Just make sure you get the bluetooth module with it for tuning

I went to my local hobby shop and they were able to find some machine screws that fit. I don’t have the size or thread pitch to be exact
So this ESC has "foc"? You don't have to increase throttle when going over something? Or?

Where did you find an 11t? the 11t is the best one but they are sold out, hopefully you didn't get the mod 1.5. He used a 12t 48p, with a spur that's mod 0.5 or 50.8p, so his pitches/mods don't match which I think is why its noisy. I also got the 12t so I'm looking for a 11.
