Overall, not a bad adaptation. Of course, the animation is pretty outdated right now but the voice acting is stellar and I think most character designs are quite neat as well. My only major points of criticism are the designs of Rat Death and the trolls. Rat Death just looks a bit wrong because they didn't give him a proper rat skull. It's missing the first thing everyone would know how to recognize rodent skulls with. The trolls are the worst offenders because they look too mechanical, more like robots than creatures of living rock. It's especially noticeable at the arms and hands. I'm also not sure why they chose to give Lias/Cliff a southern US accent. Most trolls in Ankh-Morpork have immigrated from Uberwald and thus a german or eastern european accent would be more fitting. I also must say that it seems like a bit of an odd choice to go for Soul Music without having adapted Mort first.
I thought Death was going to kill the music by changing the genre, thereby corrupting it beyond recognition. You know, by playing Crazy Frog or something. 😆
Holy shit that climax was awesome. Death turning into fucking ghost rider, screaming "Oh bugger" rocking the hell out of a magic guitar (literally) and ending it all with THE BEST ONE-LINER. I love this mini-series.
Now that I've seen the Reaper man promo, the Wryde Sisters movie, and Soul music t.v mini-series, it makes me incredibly sad that things didn't go farther then this when it came to animating Discworld stuff. Such missed opportunities.

Nobody seems to mention this, but I was very impressed with Andy Hockley's singing voice... assuming the same actor provided both the speaking part and the songs for "Buddy." He had a good range and style, and I certainly wouldn't have thrown him out of the recording studio...
