I would genuinely want to see a video fully focused on what if Ron fed Peter (in rat form) to Norbert.
They already made “What if Crookshanks successfully killed Wormtail”
I feel like that’s the same premise
@@tayshawntorres5020but (as far as i remember) in that situation Scabbers still goes to Egypt and appears in the photo, which prompts Sirius's escape. Scabbers dying 2 years before that could be a huge change
😂
@@wolverinefangowings you’re definitely right. I do give you that.
Sirius never escapes
the one thing you skipped over with this, with no death eater activity; Neville was raised by his parents, probably having more self confidence and skill, being raised by two aurors
Voldemort would have gone and killed the Longbottoms after he couldn’t find Harry.
true, but he said Voldemort canceled all Death Eater activity. plus, Dumbledore would likely be the secret keeper of the Longbottoms
this isnt about neville
Weren’t they tortured before Harry’s parents were killed?
@@user-xm5ry2ld1j no, they were tortured after Voldemort vanished, because Bellatrix thought they might know where the dark lord had disappeared to. but since in this story, Voldy pulled back all his death eaters, no need for them to be attacked
Another interesting point for the prelude - we see the cloak protect Harry, Ron and Hermione absolutely when they apparate into Hogsmeade and the death eaters try and find them by summoning the cloak. The cloak doesn't budge off of Harry because he is its true master and it is protecting him.
You are kind of right but spells just don't work on it no master thing.
@@blankahegyi5561incorrect. Only summoning charms don’t work
What if James survived? Maybe he had to talk to The Order or Dumbledore about something or was sick of being cooped up and went out in his stag form, but he comes home to find Lily dead and Harry scarred. How much would things change with James still around?
I like this one. I would like to see this what if as well. 😊
Good idea!
I would love to see this one!
I think this is what would have happened if James still had the cloak since Lily's letter to Sirius says that James wanted to sneak out, but couldn't because he didn't have the cloak.
Survivor's guilt would lie heavily on James.
What would happen to Sirius and Peter in this scenario? Does Sirius still go to Azkaban? If Peter can stay with the other Death Eaters in hiding, he won't be living with Weasleys, so Sirius will never see him in the newspaper and never escape.
Oh yeah what about Sirius? Maybe they’ll cover him if they do a part 3 on Prizoner
Wait nvm I got to the end and realized they skipped over that
I would really like to have Sirius be included into this
Interesting questions to be sure. And if Sirius never went to Azkaban, wouldn't he have asked for custody of Harry as was clearly Lily and James's wish?
I feel that more could and should have been made of Barty Crouch Junior never having been captured. For one thing, it could mean that Barty Crouch Senior is the Minister for Magic -- he was expected to take the role, and the main (or only) reason he didn't is because his son was exposed as a Death Eater. In this scenario, I can even imagine Barty Crouch Jr as DADA teacher in Harry's first year -- acting as Voldemort's agent trying to ensure that Harry indeed falls...
4:46 Moody’s eye’s backstory would be an awesome one to hear more about.
Related theory: The sacrificial protection Dumbleboor invokes after lily’s death is dark magic, blood magic to be precise. I think the initial protection that saved Harry as a baby is automatic, but the lingering protection that’s connected to Petunia is an extension that Dumbledoor facilitates. Most people wouldn’t ever learn of such dark magics, and Dumbledoor wouldn’t ever kill somebody to create the magical protection, but if a situation arose where the death had already occurred I could see him taking advantage of the situation.
In Kings Station after Harry's "death" by Voldemort, Harry says to Dumbledore, "you never killed when you could avoid it" and Dumbledore affirms that statement. Thus we know that Dumbledore HAS killed before. We also know that Dumbledore investigated Dark Magic and was able to surmise Voldemort's creation of horcruxes, thus revealing that Dumbledore must have had extensive understanding of that magical deed. I think that Dumbledore HAD a horcrux, probably Fauxe, but felt so much remorse that his soul was healed.
If Harry wasn’t marked as a 1 year old, would he still have the same wand? What if Harry’s wand chose him
because it could sense Voldemort? Would a different wand choose Harry if he wasn’t a horcrux?
Oooooh, good point!
That would make it very interesting if a “graveyard scene” happened later on.
Harry’s wand 100% chose Harry due to his connection to voldy... this is canon
Yes, I always think they forget this. But I guess it could be said the connection still exists because of the prophecy, so if wants really are sentient then it would always know that it belonged to Harry. But that's just me covering plot holes for this what if.
The phoenix wand definitely wouldn't have chosen Harry if it wasn't for the part of Voldemort's soul in him
What they could do to fix this is have Barty Crouch Jr. not just take Harry's wand but break it. Then he has to go get a new one and the phoenix wand will choose him then.
It would have been cool to see Lily survive under the cloak with Harry. She would have been there to testify that Wormrail was the secret keeper sparing Serious. Snape’s relationship with Harry would have been different as he would want Lily to like him and bully her kid seems counterproductive (maybe even Snape’s whole mood would be altered because Lily isn’t dead so maybe he just doesn’t bully all the the kids?) Lily could remarry one of the single wizards we know of (Serious, Snape, Lockhart😅, ect) . The sacrificial love would not have been cast and Voldemort wouldn’t have been defeated so who knows how the prophecy unfolds. Plus, Lily meeting Ginny sounds precious.
*Sirius
Was just wondering what if Dumbledore raised harry Potter ? How overpowered would he be
Nice idea give a shout-out to this one
I feel like Harry would be much more ambitious and cocky, maybe something like young Serious.
Albus would see the young self and become more power hungry again, like old self.
I have no Serious argument why i think that, just my thoughts.
@@klemen96 probably Slytherin house
@@klemen96SIRIUS. NOT SERIOUS.
He only left him with the Dursley’s to keep the protective magic. Or I think he would have
What if Lily disapparated with Harry when James warns her that Voldemort is in the house?
The house is protected. In the blacks house you can not disapparate. They always go outside with the cloak and disapparate under it. The potters house should have the same restrictions.
You need a wand to disapparate as implied by Hermione in the attack on the Ministry of Magic. Lily didn't have her wand. No disapparation, regardless of protections on the house.@@hackfleischking5162
I’m still bewildered by the fact that Moody’s eye can completely ignore the power of a Deathly Hallow and just bypass the cloak of invisibility. Holy cow that’s powerful. Why and how is that eye so powerful?
That would be an amazing theory
To be fair, Dumbledore could also see through the Cloak
In CoS when Fudge came to take Hagrid to Azkaban, Dumbledore specifically looked at Harry & Ron hiding under the cloak in the hut
I always thought he just guessed they were there and did homenum revelio or whatever, or maybe just heard them because he was listening for them.
I always figured that Dumbledore couldn't see Harry and Ron through the cloak but he could just sense the clock since he studied its magical properties.
@@rahulkochar5577 that’s fair.
Peeves couldn’t see through the Cloak, but he could still tell the trio was there when they were sneaking to the Sorcerers Stone.
The only difference is whereas Peeves could only sense someone was around, Dumbledore looked DIRECTLY at Harry & Ron
I think he just knew they were there because he used homenum revelio, he couldn't actually see them.
Malfoy also found Harry and stunned him in the 6th book on the train.
thank you both so much for this channel. i can't believe you guys are still making as high-quality content as this after so many years. harry potter is my autistic special interest and has been a massive portion of my life since like 2012, and the fact that you've been along for that ride for almost the whole time is so crazy and important to me. thank you so much for everything!
The thing about Ron opening the Chamber of Secrets is he doesn't seem the type who uses a diary. Ginny wrote into the diary, Voldemort answered her, she became attached to it and this is why he was able to possess her. If Ron found the diary in one of his books he might look to see if something written in it and since there wasn't throw it in his trunk without intending to ever use it. Would the Horcrux be able to possess him in this scenario?
I kinda like this story better in hindsight cause of how annoyed Volly would get... HE was probably holding the sword, laughing as he sensed his splintered soul about to win... and it disappears from his hand into Harry's and ruins everything.
This is really interesting and I absolutely can’t wait for part two. However, I do take issue with one thing. I do think it’s within the realm of possibility that Lily ducks under the cloak with infant Harry and that changes quite a bit.
I think she would still put him before herself. She's not the one that needs to be protected.
@@coolnerdlll6053 Very true. But I think it still comes down to how much time James can buy them.
I was about to write that too!
@coolnerdlll6053 if the cloak makes them unfindable, why wouldn't she just stay under the clock with Harry
However, in the moment, she would have no reason to believe that Harry would survive by himself, or that anyone would find him, so going with him could be seen as protection. She would do it for Harry, to raise him, not to save herself.
I don't know about this one, (this has been awhile and it's solely based off of memory, so I may be wrong) so like...the train scene, wasn't Harry STUNNED despite being under the cloak? so if a stun spell could work without seeing the target, I feel like a killing curse wouldn't have much trouble,
and even if the cloak can mask Harry's presence and Voldemort destroys the house, the cloak wouldn't protect Harry from debris?
Yeah just blast a bunch of killing curses everywhere or just leave witouth commotion and hope no one finds Harry and he starves to death. And more likely the cloack would not distract Harry so much that even tho thats the only thing that changes he would not start crying and than Voldemort would easily find him.
Question: What if the Golden Trio never went to Malfoy Manor? Dobby doesn't die, they don't figure out where the cup is, Luna, Dean, Ollivander and Griphook don't escape and Harry doesn't steal Draco's wand. There's a lot of potential there.
They keep wandering around for ages clueless
@@youtubeSuckssNowRemember, according to the prophecy, Harry and Voldemort are going to meet at some point and one kills the other. How does it happen?
@@coolnerdlll6053 i mean, they can't run forever. Just like in the story, they eventually got caught by snatchers. When they get caught they get brought to him or the ministry.
They are clueless until that point in time. Eventually they could figure out one of the other ones but there is really no telling, the whole story kinda depends on them ending up there.
Hey Brother! A few weeks ago I finally saw the Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes in theaters and I thought it was great. I was glad to see the map although I didn’t think much of it until I saw your review. I looked it up and of course there is now an official canon map, compared to the current United States. My job for you, is to use geography and theories and stuff to find out once and for all when the Hunger Games take place. It may be tricky but the entire fandom is counting on you. And may the odds be ever in your favor!
Lol no pressure I support this request
YESSSSS @SuperCarlinBrothers, you have to do this!
They need to do thissss
Draco "de-cloaks" Harry on the Hogwarts Express in HBP but he also knew Harry was in the compartment with the Slytherins. I guess the mini Fidelius charm theory works if you don't already know for a fact the person is in your presence and their sole intention is to hide/be hidden by another.
You have to do a spin off theory what if Lily survived with Harry! Her protection spell wouldnt be on him but also, would snape jave switched sides?
James and Lily didn’t even have their wands on them and it wasn’t even in a place Lily could get to afterwards so would they be able to get to the cloak? Also, couldn’t Voldy use the Homenum Revelio to find Harry or just listen for a crying baby?
The 5 minute intro was A1 💯😂 I lowkey forgot that I was waiting on it, then BOOM
I’m still waiting for part two if Petunia had been a witch
I've always thought of this premise, but how about, what if Dudley was a muggleborn?
@@carolinpetersen6894 that would be amazing
So just a random thought. On the train in there first year Ron attempts a spell given to him by Fred and George, but it fails.
My question is did the spell fail because it "isn't a proper spell" or is it because the spell won't work on animagus ?
We need a series out of this one. 🔥
This is good. The sacrificial protection of Lily is kept alive by petunia taking harry in, so i agree that it works. you missed one thing about the cloak: I recommend rereading the part in book 7 when the trio comes to hogsmeade... "accio invisibility cloak!".
Except the protection would never even have taken place. Lily would not get the chance to die for harry. Voldemort would have killed her anyways if he couldnt find harry out of anger.
Because remember, the protection happens only because voldermort tells lily to step aside and she is given a choice to survive, but she refuses to.
And also the fact that the cloak does not protect from spells since draco could petrify harry in the train in the half blood prince.
Though I would rather the series follows events as told in the novels, I would love to see the story unfold in greater detail and with the world fully realised from the beginning to keep the logic of magic consistent.
So we can see, for example, flashbacks to important events to gain a broader perspective.
This way it can cover potential "what if" scenarios whilst still keeping to the lore we know and love.
I'd love to see a "What if the prophecy was wrong".
So many of the Harry Potter theories just end up exactly were the books do, just because of this prophecy. But what if it was wrong? What if the prophecy doesn't dictate how things go, but rather told how things would go, if things happen exactly as they did. Maybe James and Lilly defeat Voldemort and dont die in the process. Maybe the Longbottoms bwat the Deatheaters attacking them! Maybe Voldemort just doesn't get to mark someone and decides to get Deatheaters to kill every single child born in that time frame.
Basicly, what would happen, if it turned out to be a prophecy that is subject to change and can be altered.
It would be a cool difference for once, since basicly every what if comes down to: "Well, the prophecy states neither can live while the other survives. So X happens." But what if both could live? Because the prophecy, to me, seems a bit silly. Like, according to the prophecy, maybe the one to vanquish the dark lord is just some muggle born that day, that 75 years later, while driving drunk just runs over ex-dictator Voldemort, who was on the run after Dumbledore destroyed his Horcruxes? The mark? Maybe he was minigolfing and Voldemort exploded a brindge nearby and shrapnel caught him. This prophecy isn't really narrowing down anything, yet it always results in going back to Harry and Neville.
The problem with this idea(while interesting) is that Tom, like you, takes the prophecy too seriously. Prophecies don't happen because 'fate dictated it' but because that choices people make, I could go into details on how the prophecy would still come true even if it wasn't stated but instead I'll focus on a different topic.
The reason the prophecy happens is because of Tom's believes and actions, his pride and arrogance is what pushed him to confront harry in the first place because he believes in it( Ironically). He would never allow someone else to be seen as his equal so he will make sure that he will be the one to kill harry and no one else because in his eyes if someone else killed the person who could kill him then it would make them seemed the more powerful and Tom would never allow that.
The reason it comes back to Harry and Neville is because they are the two only wizards born on the 31 of July and the prophecy took place before that date so they know that only those two infants were born that day. Sure a Muggle could of been born on that date or maybe a foreign witch or wizard but the problem is the other criteria 'parents who've thrice defied him' and only the potters and longbottoms did. Also side note, if you honestly think that Tom would've been run over by a car accidentally then you've never red the book or even payed any attention.
I feel like your 'what ifs' are interesting as concepts but have no logical way to happen given the circumstances we are working with.
@@JoshuaB1194 Thanks for the lengthy reply! Nice to see someone formulate theor thoughts out, instead of just writing "Nope" or some hateful comment.
Yeah, Voldemort getting run over was just hyperbole. Like, the most ridiculous thing ever, that I could think of - although, on a side note, stuff like that does happens due to prophecies, like Perseus of Greek mythology being prophecised to kill king Acrisius, who therefore does everything he can to make sure that baby wont even be born, only for Perseus to later in life throw a discus that just so happens to hit him on the head out of fate or coincidence.
I know what you mean with "people make prophecies happen", but I think thats the problem, with Harry Potter not always being so clear about how prophecies work. I mean, not every prophecy works the same. In greek mythology for example, there is no escape from a prophecy - regardless of what you do, ins one way that prophecy will always come true. But then there are other kinds of prophecies, which are just 'suggestions' which can be altered, if you simply avoid the thing thst is prophecised - for example, you are to die on a specific day, by a specific cause and if you avoid that cause, you'll live, a bit like in final destination for example. Then there are prophecies, that aren't things that are set in stone, but rather a thing that simply will happen in a certain way, due to people making it that way - in Lord of the Romgs, the Witch-King of Angmar, is a perfect example for such a prophecy. He isn't unkillable by anyone who is male, it was just foreseen, that he will 100% will be slain not by a man and on a different day than the one the prophecy was prophecised. The elven lord who made that prophecy wanted to save the life of the last king of Arnor and therefore told him not to sacrifice his life by chasing after him, by telling him that prophecy. And in the end, he was killed by a woman and a Hobbit, so neither by a man nor a human working alone, since Merry stabbing the Witch-King with that special blade, made him even vulnerable, thus fulfilling the prophecy.
Getting back to Harry Potter, what kind of prophecy is this? Is this an unchangable one? Is it merely a suggestion? Or is it a vague thing that could happen in any way, but definitly will come true in that particular way?
We simply dont know. Thats why I think taking the prophecy out of it, would change stuff up, in a nice way. By not having to result back to Harry or Neville eventually taking down Voldemort, we can have a few, newer, interesting things happen.
But maybe its just me being frustrated with the Carlin brothers theories not always really making sense. This one for example or especially the Neville one:
Why would voldemort stop, just because the wizard who might take him down hasn't been killed yet? I think he more or less would carry on, but focus on finding that chosen one and then killing them.
All in all, I think you definitly are right in saying, that Tom Riddle is causing his own downfall in the official story. He does after all do literally everything, that you shouldn't do, if you want to live forever. Anyway, it was nice talking to you! Nice to see someone respect a different opinion and not attacking different views.
Just want to say that I absolutely love your podcast. I listen to it every Sunday night to go sleep and it’s amazing that there’s so much to go into after all these his time.
Love your content guys. Keep up the good work
Jay giggling in the background of this video had me 😂
I always love all of your guys' videos! (Especially the Harry Potter ones!) Keep being amazing! :)
I freaking love these HP what if videos
Ooooh, this one is neat! I love how you guys are still able to come up with new scenarios for this story that aren't too out there or fanfic-y
I don't really like how you made James and Lily die in this timeline. The cloak can easily cover three people at once especially if the third is a baby. So if Lily had time to run upstairs, they all had time to take the invisability cloak and hide themselves from Voldemort. I feel like grabbing the cloak and escaping the house would've been James' natural instinct since this is probably sth he did dozens of time in Hogwarts alongside Sirius, Remus and Peter. It's way more likely than him just taking on Voldemort wandless
You do know how much time the potters had once Tom showed up, right? He was literally busting down their door when he caught them unawares. The only reason Liiy made it to the nursery is because of James's trying to delay him. Imagine if a killer busted down your front door and held a gun in his hand to kill you and you weren't prepared for it and tried to run, tell me how it would go for you.
Can you tell me how would all three of the hide under it for more than 4 seconds between them dissapearing and Voldemort shooting the killing curse at the place he saw them dissapear?
Man these "what if" videos are my favorite series from you guys. Can't wait til part two
Really love all your theories. Keep up the good work.
I always found it strange that Dumbledore couldn't make other people invisible. I think he just uses a disillusionment charm which you can definitely use on others.
Hi Ben!
Great work!
I believe I remember a part were one of Harry's enemy, knowing he was under the cloak, tried to summon it, but the cloak didn't react to the spell. If I'm right (I'm double guessing myself), this would means the cloak is at least partially curse proof
Yup, when they apparatus into Hogsmeade in Deathly Hallows a death eater tries to summon the cloak
Amazing theory guys, cant wait for part 2 😊
Fantastic video!!
Worth noting that the lighting was very weird. Ben looked real dark compared to normal.
I guess it would have altered too much of the story in an unpredictable way if James was just intelligent and covered himself with Lily and Harry and they all slipped out of the house after Voldemort comes in. There's really no reason why they couldn't just keep hiding any time he comes after them if they have the cloak. This also, unfortunately, means that Voldemort doesn't lose his power and is free to continue his ongoing reign of terror, but it does mean that Peter is immediately revealed to be the traitor. Because, even if he is attacked and escapes from Sirius again, James would be there to back up Sirius' story that Peter was the secret keeper. So the first wizarding war would be prolonged, but James, Lily, and Sirius would still be there to help fight it.
My only complaint about these 'what if' videos y'all do is that they always seem to take circuitous paths back to the original story when the premises are often about a change so great that it should take things in an entirely different direction.
I love it when the other brother laughs in the background
Not sure I'm as convinced on the power ascribed to the cloak in this scenario, but I always love your what if breakdowns!
"What if" videos are the best on this channel. I love them and please do more 🙏😄
These stories are always so good
I love these what-ifs!
Homonium revelio can reveal the location of someone under the cloak. Dumbledore does this. Even considering that Harry is the “true owner” of the cloak.
Once again, Harry talking to Dumbledore at King’s Cross is Harry’s own imagination of Dumbledore. Dumbledore died and did not return to chat.
Awesome as always thanks guys ❤
There is no way it wouldn't have worked. James tells Harry and his mother to get under the cloak. Voldemort would not have been able to find them. At worst he burns the house down but I'm sure there was a secret exit in the house some where.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Draco find Harry under the cloak on the train, which leads to the whole foot to face incident? Shouldn't the cloak have made him impossible to find from that? Even if Draco caught a glimpse of his ankle before getting fully covered?
Also, these videos are enthralling! It's like listening to the story for the first time again ❤.
This was my first thought as well
Not at all, even invisibility and presence concealment is useless if you were already seen, or at least known you were there. Draco is smart so knowing that something is above him unseen is more then enough to guess that harry is there, 5 years of contesting him will do that.
@@JoshuaB1194The situation with Draco was my first thought as well. Personally I’m not satisfied with this explanation for trying to support SCB theory. It would imply Draco is smart enough to know that Harry is there on a hunch, but Voldemort wouldn’t be smart enough to believe or know that Harry was in a heavily guarded house with his parents? Voldy is far more knowledgeable and experienced so it shouldn’t be an issue and you’d better believe he’d still have killed his parents and wouldn’t have left til he found Harry anyways.
@@jonathansibert8079 The difference between Draco's situation and Tom's situation is that Draco knew that Harry owns an Invisibility Cloak while Tom(as far as we know) doesn't know that the Potter own one. Tom might be very powerful and cunning but he's not infallible, he can be tricked. It's rare, no doubt but it can happen.
Draco is smart and talented the book just simply doesn't give it justice, though we do have examples. His plan to get the DE into the castle is very clever and he did it mostly on his own, he performed the protean charm that Hermione cast in the last book and she was admired for it, it is implied that he would of gotten into NEWT potions even before Slughorn took over, and many more so yeah it is absolutely possible that he would discovered Harry.
@@jonathansibert8079 Harry acidentaly made a sound Draco saw his shoes so Harry was just bad at hiding.
2 VOLDE laughs and the Basilisk jump scare?! Best video ever
Favorite videos on CZcams are the Carlin Bros Potter theories
Could we possibly get a video discussing the timeline of quidditch? Like the game’s origins and how it was passed down through generations of wizarding kind, and when they officially started doing world cups. I think it would be interesting with finding out who created the sport and getting a bigger understanding for the gameplay and how different tactics and moves are classified as illegal or legal. Also, love the vids so much!! ❤❤❤😊
Would Ron have been sorted into Slytherin if he weren't a Weasley?
He embodies them perfectly. He is crude and brash, he is jealous of Harry, he wants glory and power, he is scared and not really brave.
It seems like the hat didnt really read him.
The biggest plot hole was always if Lilly and James Potter were as gifted in wizardry as they say why could they not place a Fidelius Charm on a trunk like Moody's trunk that could have an entire apartment/house inside as a safe house and the secret keeper could have been Lilly or James so when they are in there no one can find them. This trunk could have been kept in Dumbledore office if they then wanted to. Also why did Voldemort not use the Fedelius charm on the Horcuxes.
Part one? Another alternate reality series? I love it.
I have a what if idea!
What if James sacrificed himself which gave Harry the lovecrux but Lilly also survived (like Voldemort had just thrown her aside or soemthing), this could also be done vice versa where James survives.
I am just really curious how the story would have changed had Harry had one of his parents around.
Yeah, but what if LIly survived? Would Snape still have switched sides?
James would never been able to be the sacrifice because Tom never intending to spare him. Lily was given the choice to live because snape begged Tom to spare her and he complied, sure to us it doesn't seem like much of a choice but it was a choice she made knowing she would die. James was never given that choice.
I feel like Neville would be a very capable wizard from the beginning in this instance and significantly more confident. Probably the most powerful wizard in their year if not in all of Hogwarts from an early age.
His parents might still die. The order will still be active searching for voldemord. They might even try to torture the location of harry out of them.
@@hackfleischking5162 That’s a fair point. I was thinking more in terms of the death eaters going underground, but I think you’re right.
@@kylecollins3755 yeah I like this video but I have to disagree in the point that death eaters would just hide. The reason they got caught was that their leader vanished and the organization broke apart. Some death eaters became traitors. If voldemort isn't gone he has years to prepare for the fight. He already has people in the ministry under the imperious curse. Additionally he knows that harry will become more dangerous the older he gets. Taking him out has the highest priority.
my head cannon is in chamber when Dumbledore can seemingly see Ron and Harry through the cloak, is actually because Dumbledore can see the Nargles / Wrackspurts flying around them
LOVE this! Headcanon accepted! ❤😎
First what if (hopefully out of many) of the year!
Speaking of James...
- What if James Potter Survived?
(I personally have written this one myself, inspired from you guys)
- what if Sirius did got the dementors kiss
(Or)
- what if Sirius never escaped azkaban
- what if voldemort knew the prophecy
-what if voldemort was RAISED WITH LOVE
I would watch a "what if Harry was in Slytherin" TV show from inception to finish and probably a hundred more times. I loved how that one panned out
Harry follow Ron, the Basilisc appears, Harry doesn’t know he sould not look the snake in the eyes (and cannot summon the phenix, the Sorting Hat and the sword of Griffindor because he isn’t loyal to Dumbledore yet), Harry dies, the end ^^
So we know Harry is a descendent of Ignotus (cloak) and Voldemort is a descendent of Cadmus (stone). Does Antioch (the wand) have a descendent that we know? Who is it? Could it be Dumbledore and that’s why he can master the wand? Or someone else?
Anyone can master the wand by winning it from the previous owner, that's it's whole point.
@@elinakeranen4499 anyone could use the cloak, but it works extra well for Harry. Any wizard can use any wand. I’m just curious if a descendent of Antioch would have better luck with the wand even if they didn’t win it. Much like Hermione’s wand was more compatible with Harry than the blackthorn wand.
Ground up scenario should be how the show works out. There is so much more to the Wizarding world for us to see. We dont need a re-telling, even if more faithful.

Interesting theory. There are a few things I don't think you are correct on that changes how the story unfolds. The first is the Invisibility Cloak rendering its wearer silent. I don't think it does that. Harry spends the entire story actively staying silent while under the Cloak. I don't think he would do that if the Cloak made him silent. The second is the Cloak making its True Owner unfindable. We know this isn't the case because Harry shows up The Marauders' Map even with the Cloak on and in Year 3, when they're in Hogsmeade, Hermione is able to, not only find Harry with the Cloak on, but take it off him so she can see him and comfort him. Here's what I think would happen if Dumbledore let James keep The Cloak:
James sends Lily upstairs with the Cloak while he stays downstairs to delay Voldermort, as per usual. However, instead of what you suggest of still sacrificing herself for Harry, she throws the Cloak on herself. With her holding Harry, that keeps Harry silent while Voldemort searches for them and fails. Then with his anger and frustration reaching fever peak, as you suggested, he nukes the house. In your scenario, you say Harry survives, but I don't think so. In the actual Book, Voldemort doesn't destroy the house because he's killed. Harry survives because only his room is rocked by the death of Voldemort, but, by and large, the house is intact. In this instance, with Voldemort very much alive, the house doesn't really survive. He just straight up nukes the house in hopes that Harry won't survive it. However, with Lily under the Cloak with him, Harry does survive. I think after Voldemort leaves the house, Lily sees him preparing the spell from the window and immediately apparates with Harry and the Cloak. So Voldemort ends up destroying the house and James' corpse.
The question, then, becomes, where does Lily apparate to? The answer is easy: Number 12 Grimmauld Place. She appears in front of Sirius' House, still under the Cloak, taps the walls to reveal the entrance, and burst in, nearly in tears. After she closes the door, she throws the Cloak off as Sirius comes running in from whatever room he was in. She tells Sirius that James is dead and that Voldemort nuked their house. Sirius immediately spins around and grabs Kreacher, whom he knows was listening in, and orders him to secrecy. An order, of course, Kreacher must obey since Sirius is the Master of the House and, thus, his Master. Lily and Harry stay with Sirius while Sirius contacts The Order of The Phoenix.
Assuming the Potters are now dead, Voldemort goes on the offensive, looking to remove the last person who he believes can stop him. He tracks down the Longbottoms, catching them unaware. Being Aurors, the Longbottoms fight valiantly, but in the end it is the Dark Lord who is triumphant. He kills Frank first and Alice retreats get Neville. Voldemort gives chase, cornering them much like he did to Lily and Harry in the Book. Alice attempts to fight him off, but fails. Voldemort disarms and injures Alice, advancing on Neville. Alice jumps in the way and sacrifices herself for Neville. Voldemort attempts to kill Neville, the curse backfiring and nearly killing him instead. Hearing about the attack, Lily Potter arrives on the scene first, under the protection of the Invisibility Cloak. She enters the Longbottom house to find Frank and Alice dead and Neville, crying, with a Lightning Bolt Scar on his forehead. She also finds something she recognizes very well: Voldemort's Wand. She picks up both Voldemort's Wand and Baby Neville and apparates back to Number 12 Grimmauld Place where she left Harry.
The Order of The Phoenix is summoned. Albus Dumbledore remarks that he does not believe Voldemort to be truly dead, but that it may be some time before he returns. He thanks Lily for recognizing Voldemort's Wand and bringing it back before taking it, himself, for safe-keeping. Dumbledore, himself, delivers Neville to his Grandmother, casting his protection charm on Neville's Grandmother's House (the charm he cast on the Dursley House in the Books). In the intervening time, The Order of The Phoenix tracks down Peter Pettigrew who immediately confesses to betraying them all (because he's a coward). Disgusted with him, Sirius allows Mad-Eye Moody to cart him off to Azkaban. Sirius, wracked with guilt at having been the one to suggest Peter be the Secret-Keeper, helps Lily raise Harry. With Neville being "The Boy Who Lived," Lily is able to relocate and raise Harry in relative peace with Sirius Black, not serving time in Azkaban, serving as a Father Figure for Harry. Lily also offers to help raise Neville, citing that, at least Harry and Neville can grow up together and be friends. Also, with the experience of both Lily and Sirius, they are able to deduce that it is Frank's Wand that is causing Neville to not be able to cast magic properly so they get him his own Wand so Neville is actually a competent Wizard, pretty much, from the get go. Also, having Harry and Neville grow up together prevents Harry from becoming Mini-James and actually still growing up to be genuinely good person so he doesn't really lose out on that development by having not been raised by The Dursleys (Harry is who he is because the Dursley's were such dicks to him and I believe growing up with Neville as a best friend would have a similar effect). On the flip-side, having Harry as a best friend would prevent being "The Boy Who Lived" go to Neville's head (basically the reason Dumbledore didn't want Harry growing up in the Wizarding World). Harry and Neville would balance each other out and would keep them, largely, the same characters that we know and love. I would say Harry wouldn't be AS cocky as he is in the Books and Neville would be more confident in himself since, you know, he would have a wand that works and a best friend that believes in him.
This sets Harry and Neville as the best friends from childhood, increases the immediate core friend group from three to four (Modern Day Marauders, anyone?) and presents a much stronger Order of The Phoenix for the coming years with Lily Potter alive, Sirius Black not in prison, and Severus Snape seeking redemption. I say this because Lily's presence would change him from the Severus we know. Also, Lily would never forgive him for being the reason James, Frank, and Alice are dead. I could see Snape spending the rest of his life atoning for this sin and trying to gain Lily's forgiveness. In fact, in this reality, I could see either Lily or Sirius becoming a Professor at Hogwarts or even both of them doing that. Like, imagine, Year 3, instead of getting Remus Lupin as Defense Against The Dark Arts Professor, we get Sirius Black as Defense Against The Dark Arts Professor.
I'll leave it here for now. Believe it or not, I just came up with this off the top of my head as I was writing this comment. But yeah, that's my "What If?" Scenario for James not giving the Invisibility Cloak to Dumbledore.
This is such a cool senario! I love how sirius might become a professor.
Have you abandoned "Name of the Wind"? I delved into the Kingkiller Chronicles based on your recommendation, only to find myself immersed in an unfinished narrative. Could you consider creating a video regarding it occasionally?
Hey J and Ben, I was thinking of a suggestion for a 7 part theory: What If all the Potters survived that night
I think that a few things that could start it off are the following:
Death Eater activity is NOT halted, and carries on
Peter Pettigrew is NOT successfully hunted down by Sirius, and so does not go to Azkaban
Either Lupin or Sirius becomes the new Secret Keeper for the Potters
The Potters are known by the Wizarding World as 'The Potters that got away'
Harry grows up knowing everything about Voldemort, still not afraid of him (Harry still says Voldemort, not You-know-who)
Harry is immediately friends with Ron as James and Lily are part of the Order, along with the Weasleys and so Ron and his brothers have been told about the Potters from their parents
Harry is friends with Neville due to the same reason as Ron
Malfoy comes to school as a little more quiet, as it is now widely known that his parent's are suspected to be Death Eater's
ALSO, here are some things to make sure to include:
In Harry's 3rd year, even if you guys take it to James and Lily dying before this, Sirius is not in prison so Harry can go to Hogsmeade
Harry knows about all the secret passages in Hogwarts, and still has the cloak in his possession
Harry knows quite a lot about magic and so is the 2nd best student in their year by far (2nd to Hermione)
As for being unfindable under the cloak, the marauders map could still see him as well. And powerful as the map may be, it is still just an item made by a few school students vs an eternal artifact created by possibly the three most powerful wizards of all time, or death himself.
I would love to see Harry in Slytherin. More Basilisk! More Cedric (well, for one year)! HARMOINE!
They did a series on that already. Just look at their playlists and you will find that!
What if Harry was a girl (resembling Lily) instead? You've mentioned before the possible creepy implications of how Snape might treat her, but I wanna know more in depth how you guys think the story would play out
Yeah, he should do something like that like the series, If Harry Was In Slytherin
Would that much be different besides relationship drama stuff?
Yea, I have a question tho, Is James’ middle name Harry?
If so, the girl version of Harry should have lily’s middle name.
@@kpopnimation I agree 👍 Other than some slight differences in interactions and love interests, I can't see this changing the story or plot very much at all, just as the gender of your character in video games usually doesn't really change any important details either.
Yall should do a series on fanfic tropes. 😊
Man, the third brother's got game! Imagine being invisible your entire life, but still manage to start a family.
I'm curious to know what you guys think would be different if Lily had managed to cloak both herself and Harry ... and how that would effect both Harry and, more importantly, Snape ...
I would LOVE for them to explore some different ideas tbh. Idk about Slytherin Harry, but cannot wait to see what they do with the series.
What if Voldemort weren't foolish in his plans? How could his ideas be different if he were smart enough to plan a wedding (please tell me you got the joke)?
Great reference
I get it
didnt see this pop up tell i saw part 2! great what if
Oo this is really interesting!
Great video as always. Just one thing, what about Sirius? He would have still gone after Peter and get sent to Azkaban right? Wouldn't he still escape in Harrys third year, of course only if the Weasleys still win the lottery and do their trip to Egypt.
Would he have been able to find Peter, though? After all, Peter would have been able to hide behind the death eaters this time because Voldemort didn’t fall.
I can't wait for part two. 😊
👋 hey brother, I have a simple suggestion/request. Every video, I feel like it's starting at the end of a sentence. Could there be a tiny bit more space before the talking starts?
Minor correction: We don't actually know if Moody can see through the cloak. Crouch Jr. can. However, similar to the Elder Wand, the eye might have different powers depending on how it was acquired. Getting it by sneaky means could make it more powerful.
*Ron and Hermione both see the lightning-shaped scar across Harry's chest.*
RON: "Wicked tattoo, Harry!"
"part one" right out the gate, let's go boys!!!
The "What if" episodes which have at least 1 installment are always fun.
Everyone seems to forget that Dumbledore, though a great wizard, knew himself and knew to never take power. I always read the exchange about him having the cloak and thinking bitterly about having 2 "all to himself " was his hatred of himself for thinking a thought like that in the first place.
Oh I definitely like your version of the story of Harry Potter!!! Absolutely way more interesting
Bro Harry surviving as a first year makes him THAT GUY for real and the art of the chest tattoo it’s giving - zuko
Sounds like a pretty interesting theory!
What if Peter never betrayed the Potters and well everyone he ever knew
Ohh, love this What if and can’t wait to see what happens when a more mature Harry sudoku becomes the boy who lives. I am guessing the WIZARDING Workd would rally around him immediately after the death eaters and Voldy attack at the world cup
I would love your take on: what if Harry had opened the two way mirror Sirius gives him / uses it to check on him instead of the fire at the end of Order of the Phoenix?
Only a Gryffindor would have a magical artifact that could completely hide and keep them safe from the deadliest wizard of the age and… choose to fight him instead. 🙄
I love your fit. It looks like your wearing TV static.
