    Social media has single-handedly destroyed the dating world. Women’s egos and standards have sky rocketed, while men have become more lonely and desperate than ever. It’s a vicious cycle.

    • @Jackholiday1025
      @Jackholiday1025 Před 8 měsíci

      “Woman’s egos and standards sky rocketing “ is an incel myth. Don’t let social media hysterical rot your Brain.
      Most men and women’s standards are totally fine. It’s lame when both men and women want to generalize and demonize the other gender. This small minority of both men and women who want to promote gender wars are pathetic.
      Honestly I would say the bar has been lowered for men. There’s never been a better time to be a fat man, to not be a masculine men, to be a wimp. Women are more accepting of these men now than they were back in the day. Also plenty of women date men who make less than them these days. When it comes down it men’s loneliness is on them. You can be ugly, weird, awkward, broke, a scumbag, gross because for every kind of guy there are women down for them , there are female versions of them. It’s numbers game and obviously it’s easier for some but anyone will find some success if they play it. We can always improve ourselves but The main thing about guys who get a lot of dates and get laid a lot isn’t good looks, money or charms, now all of those things matter and the more you have the better but the main thing is those guys just pursue women more. They got out and talk to/ ask out way more women without fear of rejection and typically without being so picky. A guy who gets laid a lot is not necessarily a more attractive man than the guy who doesn’t because people’s sex drives and personal belief differ and of course the quality and ease of women differs immensely. I’m far more impressed with a guy who gets one beautiful classy smart woman than I am a guy who fucks 100 ugly chicks, whores, prostiutree, junkies. To end this comment I’ll say that just as women need sisterhood men need brotherhood. I think it’s important for men to have other men to bond with and confide in. It’s not ideal to be able to just rely on your romantic partner for emotional support.

    • @LDT7Y
      @LDT7Y Před 8 měsíci +6

      Women are just dating for attraction now rather than survival. Men have been able to do that for millennia. Now women can earn their own money, they want to be with men they actually like. But women have historically had to put a lot of effort into their looks because they had to. Men are still catching up with that. So the market is skewed. There are less attractive men that women want to be with, but they no longer need to settle for the unattractive men as they can survive alone. So they stay single and the less attractive men wonder why it’s more difficult to find anyone now. Men are just experiencing what unattractive/old women have experienced historically.

We've been married for almost 10 years now and we couldn't be happier. I'll be straight up and not sugar-coat it. You picked a bad, low quality woman to be your wife. My long-term gf and soon to be fiance has NEVER had issue with social media (met in our early 20s and now we're 28).
      You ignored red flags early on, because I could tell my girl had strong willpower, intelligence, social awareness, and her priorities are in line with mine. She was NEVER one to flaunt her body on instagram, even though she is athletic and has a 10/10 body. She never posts thirst traps and generally doesn't post much on social media.
      Any arguments we had, are all tiny misunderstandings and NEVER devolve into calling each other names, hurtful things, or even yelling. We talk it out like adults and always reach a solution right away.
      Any misunderstanding we have, she always makes it a point that she wants to work it out because her main priority is not her, but US as a coupe and future marriage and family.
      Your wife is emotionally underdeveloped that she cannot have the self-awareness to understand she either has a social media addiction problem, and unstable enough to lead to arguments with you--her HUSBAND. The fact that she argues with you about it shows that she cares about herself more than about YOU TWO as a unit, and that's a form of disrespect to you.
      A woman only loves a man she respects. If she disrespects you, on a whim no less, then she doesn't have genuine love for you.

I’m only 22, but I find my exes kept their exes before me as friends and such on social media, and where’s before if u left someone that was it u never saw them again. I also found it weird that they would speak to their male friends very frequently and even if not cheating just I wouldn’t think to be close with another girl as I only want my girl to be my best friend. I’m not an insecure guy either so idc about male friends and going out but night time texting your “close boy mate” doesn’t sit right with me. Our grandmas and grandads weren’t doing this shit. The world genuinely is heading into a dystopian future. I think we are living in the part of history where society is gonna eventually collapse and we all be fucked. Damn I miss true love but it ain’t the same no more. Your girl always has other options. Meanwhile you, unless you rich and good looking your fucked 🤣

      Who is more “insecure”, the man who allows his girlfriend to text and hangout with other men, even though it bothers them and they see a problem with it, or the man who draws the line and tells his girlfriend she shouldn’t be texting or hang with other men while in a relationship with him, or he’s going to leave? Women have changed the definition of insecure and men just accepted it. Men and women can RARELY be “just friends”. Next relationship, draw a line with her. Most relationships especially your age with end in her getting back with some toxic ex she always complains about. Tell her it’s something you don’t tolerate and leave if she can’t respect it. Likely she’ll respect you more and consider you higher value for it

      @ethanp7183 Před 8 měsíci +8

      Every issue with social media and modern tech comes down to the fact that anybody who truly plays into it will never have a successful relationship. The modern pre marriage dating standard for young gen is if you aren’t physically together then you are in constant contact/conversation via text messages, video call etc. with this also comes a societal “norm” for the length in time it takes to respond and how to properly word every message. The end result is that people will never have true relationships this way, human connection does not work like that and it is such a new trend that we won’t have any idea on how much this messes with relationship success rates for a long time. I realized years ago that in order to date in todays world you have to be glued to the screen of your phone, dealing with literally every aspect and issue of the relationship in a virtual state. These people say they want marriage but will have to fill their endless need for societal approval in another way once they become married and live with their SO. Current Humans, essentially young women, have never been so detached from reality. They literally live in our physical world and an all virtual social world on their screens.

      Are you dumb? The standard nowadays to be qualified as a 'good man' is unachievable for at least 80-90% of guys, because it has nothing to do with their principles but everything to do with their ability to outperform their competition...
      It's like saying only athletes that win medals are good athletes... Well, last time i checked, they still only give out 3 medals regardless or how many people compete... So if your standard for being a good athlete is winning medals, then 95% or atheletes will get dismissed as unqualified.
      Women don't have this problem because guys don't select women based on their ability to outcompete other women.
      The criteria is; does she look good enough and is she available. That is enough to give most woman a chance. From that point, it's up to the woman to know how to provide value in a long term relationship...

    If you’re in a relationship and your gf or wife has IG and she doesn’t make a cent of it as an “influencer” she’s trying to upgrade from you on up!

    Appearance is such a huge thing in society. If you are good looking and tall its like playing life on easy mode.

      It's easier but MONEY is the main factor. If youre rich, you'll have women all over you even if youre 5 foot 1, ugly fat and bald!!

      @@markjackson3531 Yeah but they aren't attracted to you, they are attracted to your money.
      If you ever got married to someone who only cares about money, the odds are they will divorce you within a couple of years and take what you have.

    1:17 this is the biggest misunderstanding about modern marriages. It’s not about modern marriages being worse because of social media etc. it’s about modern marriages being easier, or actually even possible, to get out of when they go wrong. This is quite literally a GOOD thing. People these days can actually get out of abusive marriages and not get stuck in them. Just like Joe literally said it like it’s a bad thing. If something “goes wrong” in the marriage they have options. That is a good thing! People didn’t use to have that option, that’s why those marriages stayed together, not because they were somehow “better” in the past.

    Joe actually touched on a good point. The foundation of a marriage or partnership is love and respect, yet we've fostered this idea that it's okay to 24/7 shit talk your partner. Always having the next "joke" or always talking shit. If there's no respect in our words to our partner there's no kindness and no love. I still hold to the old world value of sweet words and kind gestures. I treat my love like my love, like I respect and cherish them and reserve the shit talk moments for max comedic value.

    What you said Joe. The growing up with fighting. I thought it was normal. Disagreeing is normal … fighting is not. Fighting is a rarity when you deeply care for one another. I’ve been with my partner for 8 years and we worked through that after two years. Something clicked. We have a couple we’re friends with. I was roommates with her and he works with the guy. They still fight frequently and it usually stems from insecurity and guilt. It’s interesting to observe their relationship because of the fact we knew each of them before they became a couple. He’s a genuinely nice guy and she has consistently had drama and cheated on her partners. He is a punching bag for her guilt and narcissism. They have two adopted kids now if that tells you anything about how perfect it all looks on social media.

    Apparently as of Apr/05/2023, Canadian divorce rate was at 48%, and American divorce rate was at 45%. Obviously, those numbers may be a little different depending on where you get your information from! Another source showed that Canada's annual divorce rate fell to 7.5 divorces per 1,000 married persons in 2019 from 12.9 in 1994.
