It's actually been tested and proven that old myth is absolutely bullshit.
1.its not actually that loud in live combat scenarios.
2.if you are close enough and do somehow hear it, you'd have to be stupid close and fast to get to them before they reloaded.
3.even if you you avoid those first 2 issues somehow...you gotta realize that the dudes probably not alone and also likely has a pistol.
Tldr..its bullshit and you'd be dead even if you charged.
The ping was a defense mechanism as anyone who heard it knew the quality and sexiness of such a gun and immediately blew a load in their pants stunning them for a duration.
They should make a game called “funding Badger” were you play as a tax man and you have to fund badgers ventures with taxpayer dollars
