Im almost 34 & ive never been on a rollercoaster. Recently i lost my 8 year old daughter to cancer & my partner (not her mother), left me 2 weeks ago, a mere 2 months after her death because i seemed "despondent" IMAGINE THAT! Anyway, i want to start living my life for my daughter, conquering my fear of heights & diving head first into everything & anything. So, any recommendations on a rollercoaster to start? Preferably one without loops or high drops, only because i want to start off "small" and work up my courage, please, not the baby style ones 😅 i mean adult ones.
If you're in England, The Wickerman, Rita and Thirteen at Alton Towers are good ones to start, then whilst you're there and hopefully feeling braver try Galactica, Nemesis and The Smiler to end on
Just wanted to say sorry to hear what you’re going through, grief is tough. Doing something fun like going on a rollercoaster or other ‘scary’ things can be really good right now as they’re the only thing that can give you a bit of respite from how you feel in your body. Mushrooms too, but maybe not yet!
@fontsav agree with this. Wickerman is an unbelievably good wooden coaster. Nit sure why people seem bothered by loops (they just feel like a constant uphill climb). Smiler is the best coaster I've ever been on (I'm 40) visted Alton Towers recently and managed to get on it 4 times!
Can't wait to go during fright night! I've been on el toro, which also has crazy air time and an awesome drop, so it'd be interesting to see how this compares to my current number 1.
Their not like Disney space mountain lap bars they are kinda over the shoulders but just instead on your shoulders in your lap (I’m very bad at describing things)
I haven't done tarron, but I personally put hyperia at 1 for me over shammy and zadra. its close though. if I rode them all same day it could switch around a lot
Are you serious that Taron is number one for you???? I think Taron is overrated. For me Shambala is much much better than Taron Or even Toutatis or Batman escape

Went on taron yesterday for the first time and I've got to tell you phantasia land is a must go we went on it five times.
i know its safe but i could never do that with just lap bar restraints

It’s weird because I actually feel safer in the lap bar than the over the shoulder restraint I’m not sure why😂
Having been on Hyperia, the lap bar restraints certainly make for an unforgettable experience. That first drop in freefall!! 😱😱
That’s the whole point, it adds to the thrill, and it’s completely safe
