- This is the first "official" video I did for machinima.com's youtube channel, about 12 years ago, with Garry's Mod and SDK Face Poser. CZcams had just started cracking down on copyrighted music, so I decided to make my own music, so it is also my first song I ever created for the public.
It was by far my most popular video ever on their channel.
Unfortunately that channel is gone now, but at least I found a backup copy for my own goofy little channel. Enjoy. - Hudba

Well the first game had a different atmosphere. Like its a serious story, the second game is awesome, but is put more lightly with more humour.

@@Average-Cacodemon-Enjoyer Exactly. Same. I like the cold, machine, sterile and abandoned Portal 1 feeling but also more modern Portal 2. Also portal 2 has awesome post apo atmosphere. Each has something.
@@LukasK3000 yes! Finally someone points out how cold it must be in portal 1, even though temperature was never mentioned, you can just kinda tell. Also I have a feeling it probably smelled like hand sanitizer or a hospital.
@@LukasK3000 also, the only hole in portals story (except the portal holes, I had to make this joke) is that the facility is so deep down and large, yet nobodies discovered it, like how? I think people would have discovered a facility thousands of miles deep and thousand of miles long. It bugs me everytime I play for some reason. Also, if old aperture is the deepest layer, that means they dug thousands of miles down and built it from the bottom, which wouldn't make much sense, because how did they get back up?

It's been 10 years since I last listened to this song and watched this video. A lot of things have changed since then. Machinima is dead, but this video and the memories will hopefully live on.

This music video was absurdly impressive when it was released 12 years ago, and it's safe to say that the quality, the editing, the animation, music and direction still hold up 12 years on. At the time it was released it was literally melting brains at the quality. Back then, stuff like this was unseen, and unheard of!

i recently found my computer from 12 is years ago and booted it up steam is so retro looking and oh terraria 1.1 is installed (the version that introduced hardmode) and oh i made it run in offline mode years ago because my computer always had wifi issues and i always wanted to play that one game
i turned on the computer mostly because i wanted to play classic fallout and it was too old to use with modern machines but my computer running vista runs it perfectly with sound and correct colors

I have been looking for this song for the past year... All i could rememeber was "...ceilings and the floors, it was a gateway to unlock interdimensional doors"(which i know isn't correct). I searched so many times for it, only to remember yesterday that it was connected to machinima somehow. I looked up "machinima portal rap" and there it was! I'm so happy to have finally found it again!

I just.... absolutely LOVE that voice modulator that is used on the chorus. This whole song is awesome, but that part specifically, I really dig it.
i tried finding this song a monthish ago from now but couldnt seem to find it with terms like "portal 1 music video" and what not (i couldnt remember much of it since I had originally seen this when i was a gremlin child, only really bits and pieces come to mind), worried it had gotten deleted much like alot of older content from my childhood. then i remembered the animation style and camera shots bared a STRIKING resemblance to that dr kleiner meme, one quick search and i found myself once again listening to this ancient piece.
10 year old me played this song on repeat for weeks. 19 year old me about to do the same because IT'S JUST THAT GOOD.

Crazy. I think this song/video and Ray Koefoed's other videos that followed actually conteibuted heavily to my music taste. It made the transition to enjoying electronic music a lot easier. Now I make music, and honestly I think the lingering influence is still there while I write. I should try covering a Ray Koefoed song as tribute sometime.
Also! The chorus in this song is still seriously infectious even as a sort of joke portal song. Haha
I also first heard this during my formative years when I was discovering the wide, wide world of electronic music. If you haven't already, you should totally do a cover or remix of this tune.

I googled this and found this video, and INSTANTLY was punched in the face with nostalgia.
